As an Expert Transportation Security Officer - Lead Behavior Detection Officer
(LBDO) (previously titled Expert Transportation Security Officer- Behavior
Detection Officer, ETSO-BDO) for the Office of Security Operations (OSO),
Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland
Security (DHS). I perform activities in support of the Behavior Detection and
Analysis (BDA) Program, and make security-based decisions using intelligence, critical thinking, experience, observation, and passenger engagement as prescribed in the Behavior Detection Officer (BDO), Standard
Operating Procedures (SOP) and training. My LBDO duties include but are not limited to the following:

When BDO referral commence involving law enforcement, obtain detailed information to compose for incident reports. Responsible for reports being clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience. Created the POC Daily Checklist to improve efficiency as a workforce and improve the approach for new LBDOs when they assume POC duties. - Utilize a computer with dual monitors as well as other standard office equipment, and screen incoming telephone calls and visitors to direct them to the appropriate personnel.
- Assigned as Team Lead, heading small groups to balance workloads, sets priorities and delegates work to Officers. Use analytical reasoning to establish and review performance standards; identifies training needs; and, review their work while making adjustments to accomplish completion of work duties in accordance with established priorities.
- Designated as an On-the-Job (OJTC) Coach for newly hired BDOs. Utilizing appropriate leadership styles and techniques in order to effectively mentor them on how to maintain calm under stressful situations and to rely on initial training. - Effectively and quickly responds to security incidents by participating in …show more content…
- Communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse audience in both difficult, tense, or emergency situations, as well as day-to-day operations.
