...“The child is father to the man” –HORACE MANN The fact that a person may have a weakness may build up much insecurity to start breeding wickedness because they are missing that strength inside of them. It may break them or make them feel angry towards a person that shows success in life. Especially, if it’s in the area, in which the person, can’t strengthen their weakness. In my teaching, this semester with my internship I had a fire brigade silent an alarm without doing the proper procedures in which she should had made a perimeter check of the building. Before she had acknowledged the alarm before making sure, there was any problem. I had to approach her about this situation due to the fact I’m the fire safety director of the building. Her excuse was that she didn’t understand the training, but she knew that button would be silent the system so that the fire department wouldn’t come. If the fire department had come on the premises, she would have to explain to them the cause in which she had little knowledge of what to do. So with that said, you build a child strong he will be good. I wasn’t producing enough knowledge to her to do well. Her wickedness came from weakness in not knowing proper procedures in which she could think of cost someone their life. I truly believe this quote a lot of bad things happen in life because of people weakness. If we could find a way to build our children to be strong and not to have a bad soul in their body, they would be good. Someone could...

Minimum cover, trial depth etc. are some early estimates which are altered overtime to meet certain standards. Model: 1) Key modelling features include 2 prime equations: i) Deflection equation- δmax = 5*ω*l4/384*E*I [Where δmax- maximum sustainable deflection, ω- uniform load, l- length of the beam, E- Young’s modulus, I- second moment of inertia] ii) Strength equation- R = (*Rn [Where R- load (dead or live; force, moment or stress),Rn- nominal strength (design strength), (- reduction factor] Deflection equations are derived according to the nature of load and type of beams. In this case a uniform load applied to fixed beam was assumed. Reduction factors are used to allow for the probability of understrength members due to variation in material strengths and dimensions. ...Tensile test report (full length) Abstract The Maximum load, breaking load, percentage elongation and minimum diameter at fracture of Mild (low carbon) Steel, Duralmin and Copper were calculated by applying a tensile load to the respective specimen until it fractured. Copper and Steel were the most ductile materials because their percentage elongation and their percentage reduction in area were the highest. The Young modulus of Steel revealed that it is also a stiff material. The Duralmin was found to be the strongest material because of its high tensile and breaking strength. The accuracy of the results were satisfactory but they could have been improved by repeating the tensile test several times and taking an average. Introduction The tensile test is conducted to determine the basic stress-strain properties of a metal. The test is also used to measure the resistance of a material to a static or slowly applied force. The tensile test was performed on mild Steel, Duralmin and Copper. The purpose of the experiment was to investigate the properties of mild steel in detail by performing tensile tests on a specimen rod of constant cross section. Theory The maximum load is the greatest load that the specimen can withstand without breaking. The breaking load is the load at which the specimen breaks. Elongation is the amount that the sample has increased in length after it has fractured compared to its original length. The percentage elongation is extent...

...teacher and all my friends. On this lovely day, I am going to share with you about a topic, “SUPERHUMANS”. Sounds ‘super’ doesn’t it? The word “super” will definitely lead our minds to “Super heroes”. Names like Thor, Ironman and Batman appear in our head. Why do you think we admire these characters? Simple; their superpowers. The fact that we don’t have their amazing capabilities makes us interested in them. Just imagine, I can create complex equations, or ___________ have super strength. Or maybe ________ talk to animals. A human’s desire to have superpowers just gets stronger every day. Believe it or not, super heroes do exist. But of course, these people are humans like us and don’t wear a costume like most superheroes. They go by the name “superhumans”. Superhuman can mean a better human, or as what humans might become in the future. Occasionally, it could mean an otherwise "normal" human with unusual abilities, such as psychic abilities meaning they can read people’s minds, unimaginable strength or exceptional accuracy at something, far beyond the normal capabilities of us, the normal humans. Scientists discovered that most of these super abilities are probably genetic or naturally born, and they might also have some malfunction in their system. A good malfunction that is. For instance, naturally born super human Kim Peek, who has eidetic memory, meaning he has super memory since birth. He memorized 98% of the 12,000 books he has read in his life. In a few rare cases...

...Abstract Our Senior Design project was based on the design and manufacturing of a devise capable of testing the physical properties of the main housing of an AR-15 modern sporting rifle. The main housing of an AR-15, as well as any other firearm, is known as the lower receiver; the lower receiver houses the springs, hammer, trigger and magazine. As a third party, we were commissioned by Lively Machine to test the physical properties of these lower receivers that the shop was producing. The purpose of the design of this devise was to test the tensile properties of the components upper receiver attachment pin holes. We also performed a compression test on another critical component of the lower receiver, the magazine well. The newest design in the firearm industry calls for lower receivers to be made from magnesium, as opposed to the old models of aluminum. We will display the data we received from the tensile and compression testing of the magnesium component, and then compare it to a theoretical testing of the currently used 6061-T6 Aluminum Alloy. The Modern Sporting Rifle There are many widespread misconceptions about the modern day sporting rifle also known as the AR-15. The most popular misconception is that the AR-15 sporting rifles are military grade weapons, this is a false accusation. Cosmetically the AR-15 sporting rifle is nearly identical to its’ military counterpart the M16, the functionality of the sporting series is much different. A military grade M16 is...

...spine, hips, and knees. Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, systemic inflammatory disease in which the immune system attacks the joint tissues. There are various symptoms that are displayed when an individual has arthritis. They include, joint pain, swelling, stiffness, and limited movement. Symptoms can include: joint pain, joint swelling, reduced ability to move the joint, redness of the skin around a joint, stiffness, especially in the morning, and warmth around a joint. Unfortunately there is no cure or treatment for this disease. That does not mean that once you have arthritis that your life is over and you shouldn't do anything about it. Exercise can reduce pain. Weight training or resistance training helps maintain muscle strength around the affected joint which can help stabilize the joint and reduce pain in the joint. It can also reduce joint stiffness when you are involved in a full ROM flexibility program. It helps prevent functional decline and improves mental health along with quality of life. So what does an exercise program look like for someone with arthritis? The individual should participate in aerobic exercise 3-5 days a week. Aerobic exercises that are low impact on the joints should be used such as swimming, cycling,...

...Rhetorical Analysis: Happier Than A Body Builder Directing Traffic Insurance is known for being boring and tedious, something that nobody looks forward to dealing with. In their recent advertising campaign, however, GEICO stands out through their silly use of a body builder directing traffic and comparing him to how happy GEICO customers are. When you think about it, a bodybuilder is the perfect person to direct traffic. He's fit enough to move his arms around for hours at a time and he's big enough to be noticed by passing motorists. In the commercial I have chosen to analysis, a bodybuilder is seen in the middle of a busy city street, flexing his muscles as drivers wait for their turn to navigate the intersection. All this is done in the name of directing traffic, and the wide grin suggests that he’s more than a little excited at the opportunity to show off his hard work with each point and wave. After about twenty seconds into the commercial, two guys are standing on top of a stage on the sidewalk in view of the body builder and they start a conversation: Jimmy: “You know Ronnie, Folks who save hundreds of dollars by switching to GEICO sure are happy.” Ronnie: “And how happy are they Jimmy?” Jimmy: “I’d say happier than a body builder directing traffic.” Ronnie: “He does look happy.” At the end of the commercial, the company’s name and website are shown in the middle of the screen and the announcer says: “Get happy, Get GEICO. Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen...

...HRF components • Cardiovascular fitness is the ability to exercise the whole body for long periods of time and is sometimes called stamina. • Muscular strength is the amount of force a muscle can exert against a resistance. • Muscular endurance is the ability to use voluntary muscles many times without becoming tired. • Flexibility is the range of movement possible at a joint. It helps performers to stretch and reach further. • Body composition is the percentage of body weight which is fat, muscle or bone. It helps sportspeople depending on the type of sport they play, eg heavy rugby players are more effective in the scrum than lightweight players, but light long distance runners will always beat heavyweights. SRF components • Agility - the ability to change the position of the body quickly and with control. This helps team players dodge their opponents. • Balance - the ability to retain the centre of mass above the base of support when stationary (static balance) or moving (dynamic balance). • Co-ordination - the ability to use two or more body parts together. This helps all athletes to move smoothly and quickly especially when also having to control a ball. • Power - the ability to use strength at speed. This helps athletes to jump high, throw far or sprint quickly. ...The first step in my plan to lose weight is to understand how to lose weight. The first step is easy to understand the explanation of exactly what is required for weight loss to take place. How it happens, why it happens, and most important of all... what you need to do in order to make it happen. You will need to know this in order to create your weight loss diet plan in step two. You need to know you’re calorie deficit, which is giving your body less calories than it needs. Weight loss is all about calories and more specifically, it's about creating a calorie deficit. You need to end up burning more calories than you consume. If your daily calorie maintenance level is 3000 calories, you will lose weight if you started eating 2500 calories a day. You would gain weight if you ate 3500 calories a day. By subtracting 500 calories from your maintenance level is the magic weight loss number here. The reason for that is because there are about 3500 calories in 1 pound of fat. So, if you ate 500 less calories each day for 7 days, it would equal the 3500 less calories required to lose 1 pound. So, by eating 500 calories below your daily maintenance level, you would lose about 1 pound per week. Now would be a good time to mention that the healthy, safe, good, smart, and all around right amount of weight to lose for most people is 1 or 2 pounds a week. Reducing your calorie intake by so much so fast is wrong, unsafe, unhealthy, bad, and stupid. You'd end up losing muscle instead of fat...

...Reach flexibility test. This test measures the flexibility of the lower back and the hamstrings. My stretching reached 4 inches on this test, which equates to an excellent rating. According to the American College of Sports Medicine (2003) performing regular stretching exercises such as touching the toes and holding the stretch for a minimum of 10 seconds will improve flexibility. Having good flexibility will allow for less injuries and faster recoveries from strenuous work-outs. Grip strength measures overall body strength. This was also measured during the first week of class and my rating was superior with a score of 43 kgs. in my dominant hand. According to Professor Renaud, “a healthy adult should perform 1 set of 8-12 reps on 8-10 machines”. Those numbers can vary depending upon the reference. According to Incledon (2005) a healthy adult performing a moderate workout should do 3-4 sets of 8-10 reps on a variety of at least 5 machines or free weights. Muscular strength and endurance are important in everyday life because it not only makes you look better, but you simply feel better knowing you are improving and extending your life. Body fat is the amount of fat in a person’s total body weight. Lean body weight is everything in your body minus the fat. According to Professor Renaud, the average body fat percentage for a woman my age is between 24-27.9%. My body fat percentage is 25%. These numbers can fluxuate slightly depending on the source...
