Canon is strengthening its leadership position as America's choice for digital cameras. In a recent IDC study, the Canon brand captured number one position for total digital camera shipments in the first half of 2006, with a market share of 21.0 percent (which is up from 20.2 percent in 1H05). "As the digital camera market matures, it is more important than ever for camera vendors to meet dealer requirements for timely product introductions, and properly address consumer desires with compelling designs and feature sets," said Christopher Chute, research manager for the worldwide digital imaging practice at IDC. "Canon continues to properly execute on these critical principles."

Canon history of Photographic industry
"Canon's long 70-plus year history of expertise in the photographic industry positions us for such market leadership," said Yukiaki Hashimoto, senior vice president and general manager of the consumer imaging group at Canon U.S.A., Inc. "We are proud to be the camera of choice for consumers and professionals. We are the only camera company today that truly offers a full line of consumer and professional digital imaging solutions. By designing and manufacturing our own lenses, CMOS image sensors (found on the company's digital SLRs) and image processors, we can control both image quality and cost - ultimately providing consumers with the best digital imaging options."

Canon digital cameras - High quality & Reliability
More and more customers have come to recognize the high quality and reliability that Canon designs into its entire range of digital cameras, from the highly acclaimed PowerShot series to the full line up of award-winning EOS Digital SLRs. The digital camera category is clearly one of the best selling hardware segments in the photographic industry, and it is one of the most competitive. In the digital camera category, Canon has consistently turned in strong performances, thus enabling the company to expand its market share. In fact, IDC currently forecasts U.S digital camera shipments to reach more than 31 million units in 2006, an all-time high. lala Canon EOS 7D Black SLR Digital Camera - Body Only | Shop at | Price | | | | $1,699.00 | | | | $1,129.00 | | | Compare Prices for All 2 Sellers ($1,129.00 - $1,699.00) | |

History of Canon in the digital camera market
Canon's success in the digital camera market was not built overnight. The company's first internally developed model, the PowerShot 600, was announced in 1996 and originally marketed as a computer peripheral through a subsidiary company. When it became apparent that the future of digital cameras was going to be in the consumer market, Canon reorganized itself from the top down and assigned responsibility for design, development, manufacturing and marketing to its Camera Division, which had a long history of success in traditional 35mm cameras. When the PowerShot S100 Digital ELPH and EOS D30 Digital SLR models appeared in 2000, their unique and innovative features catapulted Canon into the spotlight of media publicity and popularity with consumers. At that point, it was clear that Canon was on its way to the kind of success it had come to expect after nearly 25 years of market leadership in the traditional camera industry.

Canon - Make Every Shot a PowerShot
Advertising taglines such as "Make Every Shot a PowerShot" have sparked popular interest in the Canon brand. Each year, Canon gains market share and becomes more popular with consumers - one reason for Canon's success is the breadth of its offerings. With class-leading products in the compact, consumer, advanced amateur and professional digital SLR categories, Canon appeals to a wide range of photographers. As the digital camera market grows, so has the success of Canon's revolutionary products and technologies.

Canon lenses, image sensors and software
To support its success, Canon designs, develops and manufactures its own lenses, image sensors, image processors and color rendering software. With consistently high annual investments in research and development, Canon continues to stay ahead of the market with its innovative imaging technologies, such as UA (Ultra High Refractive Index Aspherical) Lens Technology, the DIGIC II (Digital Imaging Integrated Circuit) and DIGIC III image processors, as well as Canon CMOS image sensors for the company's EOS Digital SLR cameras.

Canon high quality & reliable imaging products
Canon, which is one of the top holders of technology patents in the U.S., has created a unique synergy between its research and development team and its product groups that allows it to consistently introduce high quality and reliable imaging products for every level of user. In fact, the editors of PC Magazine honored Canon's digital cameras with the highest rankings in quality, reliability, and support in their annual reader satisfaction survey in both 2004 and 2005.

A concise definition of this word would be “Living and working together for the common good,” but our definition is broader: “All people, regardless of race, religion or culture, harmoniously living and working together into the future.” Unfortunately, the presence of imbalances in our world in such areas as trade, income levels and the environment hinders the achievement of kyosei. Through corporate activities based on kyosei, Canon strives to resolve imbalances in the world. Truly global companies must foster good relations, not only with their customers and the communities in which they operate, but also with nations and the environment. They must also bear the responsibility for the impact of their activities on society. The Biblical Canon

...The Biblical Canon: The Movement, Methodologies, and People Who Influenced It Thomas Gainey CHHI 301: History of the Christian Church I February 7, 2016 Introduction In Christianity one of the key factors of its faith is the belief that the Bible is inerrant. Many great Christian leaders have expressed the importance of the Bible. Norman Geisler once stated “The inerrancy of Scripture is the foundational doctrine in which all other doctrines rest, and the Psalmist rightly said, ‘If the foundation be destroyed, then what can the righteous do?’” In his statement he expresses the truth behind the fact that the Christian faith resides on the fact that the Bible is inerrant. Interesting enough the Bible of today with its 66 books, 39 Old Testament, and 27 New Testament are very similar to the bible of the early church. In the words of Herman Ridderbos, "the history of the Canon is the process of the growing consciousness of the Church concerning its ecumenical foundation.” People have often wonder why certain books made into the Bible, but others did not. In this paper will look how we got the Bible we have today and what movements, people, and doctrines effected. Old Testament Canon The Old Testament known to Christians in the Bible is what is known to Jews as the Tanakh. This is made of the writings of the Laws, the Prophets, and the Psalms. Jesus Christ stated in Luke 24:44 “Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and...

Circuit City vs. Canon with Diversification

...Within this paper two companies will be discussed concerning their business decisions of diversification. The first company, Circuit City, was unsuccessful at broadening their business, and eventually had to shut down the business. The other company, Canon, was successful at broadening their brand and scope of the business. This paper will compare and contrast their businesses, outcomes and reasons for the differences. Circuit City was established by Samuel S. Wurtzel in 1949 as the Wards Co. that sold Televisions and home appliances. Over the course of time, it expanded into a national retail powerhouse that rebranded itself Circuit City in 1984. When the store was still operating, it was the “nation’s second-largest consumer electronic retailer” (Mui, 2008, p.D1). When it closed in January 16, 2009, it had 567 stores to close and 34,000 employees out of work. (Haynes, 2009, p.D1). In 2007, the company “posted nearly $320 million in losses, its second consecutive annual shortfall. (Mui, 2008, p.D.1) In 2008, the companies “most recent quarterly showed that it had assets of $3.4 billion with $2.3 billion in liabilities.” (Mui, 2008, p.D1). Circuit City did not have much of an international presence, but it did have stores in Canada which did not account for much of its business. In the economic downturn, “Circuit City neglected to improve its web presence, just as other on-line retailers like Amazon.com were hitting their stride” (Hamilton, 2008). The Circuit City...

The Foundation of Orthodoxy and Formation of Canon

...Daryl Miller CHH301-B12 LUO September 11, 2012 Paper 1 The Foundation of Orthodoxy and the Canon If we consider that what we know as Christianity is not what it began as, then we will see the need for a standard. That fact that Christianity as a religion and a worldview was revolutionary as is was also evolutionary. It was revolutionary in that it stood against the norm of Judaism and paganism. It was evolutionary in that what it was then is not what it is today. Therefore, the need of orthodoxy and for cannon is presented. Orthodoxy is the “correct, conventional or currently accepted beliefs, especially in religion.”The consolidation of power under Constantine and the stretch of the empire caused a need for orthodoxy of Christianity’s belief system. It also demanded a standard of doctrine. This leads to the canonicity of the Holy Scriptures. Canon is derived from the Greek word kanon. Elwell says of the word canon, “in Christianity [canon] refers to a group of books acknowledged by the early church as a rule of faith and practice” The word carries the idea of the measuring rod or standard against which the sacred text are weighed for inclusion. It should be noted that different faith systems have different canonical books. The Jewish canon is different from the Protestant as is the Catholic. If we bear in mind that the Bible we know today did not start out as a book at all, and then the logical progression must be to ask, how did it come about? An important note...

The Foundation of Orthodoxy and the Canon

...Clay Crumpler September 9, 2014 CHHI 301 Paper 1 The Foundation of Orthodoxy and the Canon How did we get the New Testament? That is a good question. Well we know that the New Testament is twenty-seven books ranging from AD 45 to approximately AD 100. (1) The New Testament was not written as one continuous book. Many different people at differing times and different locations wrote the books and then they were compiled much later. Who, then, decided which books should be included in the New Testament canon and which ones were to be left out?(2) In the Bible in 2 Timothy chapter 3 verses 16-17 "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good word.” This is telling that God breathed out the message he wanted in the Bible so that all of us may learn from it and get to know him more. Even Jesus said in Matthew chapter 5 verse 18 “For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished” He talks about how the word of God was inspired to be the way it is and no one should change it because it is how God breathed it to be. The Cannon is a permanent list of authoritative book recognized as scripture. The word of God was written in three languages Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. (3) We do not have the original...

...1 Importance of understanding customer motives The task of marketing is to identify consumers’ needs and wants accurately, then to develop products and services that will satisfy them. For marketing to be successful, it is not sufficient to merely discover what customers require, but to find out why it is required. Only by gaining a deep and comprehensive understanding of buyer behaviour can marketing’s goals be realised. Such an understanding of buyer behaviour works to the mutual advantage of the consumer and marketer, allowing the marketer to become better equipped to satisfy the consumer’s needs efficiently and establish a loyal group of customers with positive attitudes towards the company’s products. Consumer behaviour can be formally defined as: the acts of individuals directly involved in obtaining and using economic goods and services, including the decision processes that precede and determine these acts. The underlying concepts of this chapter form a system in which the individual consumer is the core, surrounded by an immediate and a wider environment that influences his or her goals. These goals are ultimately satisfied by passing through a number of problem-solving stages leading to purchase decisions. The study and practice of marketing draws on a great many sources that contribute theory, information, inspiration and advice. In the past, the main input to the theory of consumer behaviour has come from psychology. More recently, the interdisciplinary importance...

...The New Testament Canon The word “canon” is a Greek word, “Kanon” it means to rule or measure; a standard by which something or someone is judged. Canon are closed collection of documents are books that have been accepted as authoritative (Kostenberger, Kellum & Quarles 2009, 3) Not everyone is in agreement concerning what books or how many books to use however; there are a lot of religious organizations that accepts the New Testament collection of 27 books. And although canon is the history of the process of how these particular books came together, greater concern and focus is placed in their value and being recognized as sacred scriptures (Kostenberger, Kellum & Quarels 2009. 3) THE OLD TESTAMENT FOUNDATION The NT gets its foundation from the OT; it is here that the prophecy of Jesus being the Messiah is fulfilled, the death of Jesus in conjunction with the establishment of a New Covenant, all which is the main focus of the Old Covenant and its canon (Origin of the Bible). Jesus inspired His disciples giving them a promise that God would send a comforter in His name, and that comforter is the Holy Spirit which would direct them in all truth, show them future events and would give them the words to speak (John 16:13 KJV). God had a divine plan from the start. He said that the Word was from the beginning and that it was not only with Him but that it was HIM (John 1:1-2 KJV) He then opens our eyes and reveals that the Word was made into flesh and lives among us, we can...

The Canon

...The Formation of the Canon, 5-6 page paper. Thus far we have come to a closing about the date and source of the individual books of the New Testament, but another questions remains unanswered. We can ask ourselves, how did the New Testament itself come into being? Who collected the writings and on what ideology? What conditions led to the creations of a canon, of trustworthy books? Throughout history Christian’s belief is that the Holy Spirit, who controlled the writing of the individual books, also controlled their selection and compilation, thus continuing to fulfill our Lord’s promise that He would guide his disciples into all reality. This however, is something that is to be discerned by spiritual insight, and not by historical research. The object is to find out what historical research reveals about the origin of the New Testament canon. We have people tell us that we receive the twenty seven books of the New Testament on the mandate of the Church; but even if we do, we have to look at how the Church came to recognize these twenty-seven books as worthy of being placed on a level of encouragement and authority with the Old Testament. It took over a century of the proliferation of numerous writings before anyone was even concerned. They started to pick and choose and it was largely a cumulative, individual and accidental event, guided by chance and prejudice more than objective and scholarly research, until priests and academics began declaring what was authoritative...
