...Vaughn Jim Maxson BUSN 3513 16 July, 2015 Chick-Fil-A The restaurant I visited was Chick-Fil-A on East Kenosha Street in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. I visited Chick-Fil-A on Monday July 27, 2015 at 3:40 PM. When recording my data I used a pen and paper and I sat in the middle of the restraint so I was able to see everyone as they came inside and ordered their food. Chick-Fil-A on East Kenosha recently opened up a few months ago. When they first opened their doors to the public, they handed every customer that entered in the restraint gift cards for a free breakfast sandwich. That was the first time I have ever seen a fast food restraint do something like that for their customers. Chick-Fil-A is very considerate of their customers. The Chick-Fil-A foundation was founded to serve as the generous arm of Chick-Fil-A, Inc., dedicated to youth and education and community leadership. In 2014, Chick-Fil-A donated a million dollars to twenty five organizations across the nation through the inaugural True Inspiration Awards for their commitment to giving back to their communities (About Chick-Fil-A). Chick-Fil-A is also very committed to their employees so they offer their employees a scholarship opportunity to their employees so that they can further their education if they choose to do so. It known as the Leadership Scholarship Program. No other company in terms of size does as much in the scholarship area as Chick-fil-A (Chick-Fil-A Press Release). The company awarded $1.7 million...

...Chick-fil-A’s Total Quality Management Discussion Board Forum 1 Kelsey Nelson BUSI 601-B06 Accounting for Decision Making Dr. Self 19 January 2014 Chick-fil-A is part of the fast food industry and began distinguishing itself from its competitors through the use of Total Quality Management (TQM). TQM is a positive force which can help Chick-fil-A achieve its critical success factors (CSFs). In comparison to competitors, Chick-fil-A distinguishes itself through its Christian, corporate purpose, “To glorify god by being a faithful steward to all which is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A” (Chick-fil-A, 2014 (a)). Chick-fil-A is closed for business every Sunday to allow employees to share the day with their families (Chick-fil-A, 2014 (b)). This respect for quality of life is part of Chick-fil-A’s TQM. Quality is found at Chick-fil-A in other ways as well. In Karuppusami’s and Gandhinathan’s study, analysis showed “the role of management leadership and quality policy” to be the most vital CSF (2006, p. 376). Quality management is found at Chick-fil-A in both the food and service. For instance, once the customer places an order, both food and drink refills are delivered to the table to allow customers minimal disturbance. This service is not the norm for the fast food industry. This is one way Chick-fil-A distinguishes itself from competitors to appeal to the public. This quality starts with leadership who...

...like to talk about Chick-Fil-A is a proven global force in both restaurant operations and Christian friendly environment. The Christian beliefs of Chick-Fil-A are carried through even in their franchised locations. They continually lead the industry in globalization in limited-service restaurants. They also maintain high levels of ethical responsibility, no matter the country or culture they are doing business in. The Chick-Fil-A 2010 Annual Report showed the company operates 1,950 restaurants in 42 states including Washington D. C. Out of all single-service restaurants, Chick-Fil-A ranks at the top of the list. This presents an interesting dynamic between top-level management of Chick-Fil-A and other of their global managers. The four functions of management are subject to internal and external forces in variable degrees when applied to this organization. The planning and organization of Chick-Fil-A are handled at the corporate level. Chick-Fil-A managers are, for the most part, free from dealing with these managerial functions. On the other hand, these functions are prone to both internal and external influences. For example, Chick-Fil-A started to launch salads as part of a revitalization plan because their customers wanted to have healthier choices and healthier diets. Since they always wanted to separate themselves from the fast food image, some global changes were made. Chick-Fil-A introduced salads and fruit to the menu. Chick-Fil-A has a large Corporation...

...Chick-Fil-A Selling Chicken with a side of GOD A Positive Ethical Organization Chasity Wilson 10-13-2015 Chick-fil-A: Selling Chicken with a side of GOD WHAT DISTINGUISHES AN ETHICAL COMPANY? We as Americans tend to focus on companies unethical behavior, lapses of judgement, corporate misconduct or the methods corporations may use to hide unethical business practices from the public view this process leads to national scrutiny. We seldom recognize an organization that displays positive-intentional ethic behaviors that are defined as acceptable by the American people. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the ethical standards of the fast food chain Chick-Fil-A and determine if the company establishes a code of ethics. The Webster Dictionary defines ethics as following accepted rules of personal and professional behavior. It is prescribed philosophy dealing with questions of what is good and what is bad combined with moral duty and obligation, the principles of moral behavior governing an individual or group. By implementing a standard of ethical behavior, as a business, the restaurant chain Chick-Fil-A in my opinion exemplifies a living code of ethics as a cognitive, affective, and behavior manifestation of an ethical organization. In your opinion has Chick-Fil-A set a new standard for a positive ethical organization and does the concept of ethics and integrity have a deeper meaning that what the dictionary definition provides? Chick-fil-A (chick-fil-ay...

...My journey with Chick-fil-A began when I was 16 years of age in 2007. Even as a teenager, I understood the value of a dollar thanks to my parents’ direction. I wanted the freedom of driving my first car and beginning my financial future. As soon as construction began on Reynolds Road free standing restaurant (FSR), I realized I wanted to work there. I completed my application online and delivered it to the trailer marked “Now Hiring” in the parking lot. Little did I fathom this one act would transform my life forever. The Operator, Rob Watkins, opened the door and asked if I would come in for an interview later that week. I enthusiastically said yes to this interview opportunity. The outcome of the interview proved to be worthwhile due to the fact that I was hired on the spot as Rob’s first employee. I was ecstatic! The paperwork and uniform fitting...
