Football is a team game played in North America with an ova ball on a field marked out as a gridiron. College football has been around since 1869. There’s about 54% of U.S. residents or mainly americans who are college football fans; so basically college football plays a big part in America. People have made college football become as huge as the NFL. College football or the NCAA is nearly a 1 billion dollar industry and yet still college football players have issues with not getting paid. Students who are athletes usually have scholarships so they don’t have to worry about money and saying that “they need to paid” shouldn’t be said. Also not to mention they get equipment, apparels, and the university best academic support they have. These football players also get valuable connection because of their university and recognition they’ve received for playing sports. Plus through these benefits they receive now will help them for their rest of their lives like finding jobs or things close to that. All in all college athletes are receiving about 75,000 to 200,000 dollars worth of free education; having a salary is not necessary if their obtaining a free education.
Playing football is a job, not P.E. Football shouldn’t be counted as Physical Education class, it should be counted more like a part-time job. Just like in a regular class football requires a good deal of time and dedication but there’s more to it. For instance unlike book work, this only involves mental capabilities. However, in football it’s required to have physical capabilities plus mental capabilities, which sounds twice as rough as school work. These players are practically being work to death. These players Should at least be paid for their hard work they must face each day.
