Daily we are exposed to radio stations, newspapers, Internet, social media’s, and we have apps that send us alerts each time news alerts are updated. The most effective form of mass media this week for some would be a local news apps available that is accessible from a tablet, or a smartphone for example. The app sends alerts directly from the internet, right to the palm of your hand, and the information can be updated almost instantaneously. ...Introduction This paper will discuss the literature review section of Adena LeJeune’s 2010 dissertation titled “Examination of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants' Perceived Educational Needs Related to International Financial Reporting Standards” (IFRS). Beginning with the author’s strategy, the learner identifies the theoretical framework and research methodology followed by an explanation of the work’s organizational layout. The next sections explore the levels of analysis used and the limitations, implications, and recommendations as identified by the author. Finally, the paper will present a visual in the form of a concept map and conclude with a brief summary about the learner’s takeaways from this assignment. Agency Theory and Author Strategy For the theoretical framework, LeJeune used agency theory defined by Hall and Jones as a relationship “in which one or more persons (the principal(s)) engages another person (the agent) to perform some service on their behalf which involves delegating some decision-making authority to the agent” (1992, p. 132), better known as the principal-agent relationship. From an accounting perspective, LeJeune explored the principal-professional relationship in which the supply of knowledge defines the relationship. Using this paradigm, LeJeune selected works for the literature review section of the dissertation aimed at explaining CPA’s perceptions of gaining knowledge of IFRS through continuing professional education (CPE). ...

Explain how ethical norms help address ethical issues that arise in accountancy. 3. Contrast the views of Mills, Machiavelli and Kant. 4. Describe what is meant by a social contract. 5. Analyze a given situation and tell why it would be appropriate or inappropriate to lie. 6. Explain the views of Kierkegaard and contrast him from other existentialists. 7. Introduction The major ethical principles accepted in the western world follow guidelines and rules that must be universally applied in all situations. These ethical principles are established primarily on the basis of teachings set forth by philosophers throughout the ages, starting with the great Greek thinkers Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. As you might expect, there have been many alterations 修改 to these moral principles throughout the years. What was considered ethically correct by some was rejected by others and replaced with their own concept of what constituted moral or ethical behavior. A Comment about Philosophy: Philosophy, unlike science, addresses issues that cannot be solved. In fact, some philosophers state that if a problem can be solved, philosophers will not even...

It uses a well-balanced strategy of extrinsic and intrinsic rewards and these have kept its employees highly motivated and continue to exert their best efforts for the company. Extrinsic rewards at Google Australia include unlimited sick leave, generous health insurance, flexible working hours, and reimbursement of up to $6000 per year for educational expenses. In addition, staff can also receive small bonus rewards on a day-to-day basis. Intrinsic rewards mostly depend on the individual, but such things as getting to work with creators of Google products such as Google Earth, Gmail, and Google News can bring a sense of satisfaction to the job. Google’s intention to create a sense of fun at work and to create a culture of information sharing and collaboration can be identified by its office environment such as an informal dress code, abundant leisure activities and free food at the staff cafeterias. With these small rewards, Google employees feel a sense of belonging to the company and feel that they are creating and contributing to something bigger than themselves. Gone are the days where companies rely solely on the loyalty and lifelong devotion of...

...The goals of a literature review are to provide the reader with a critical analysis of scientific literature about a specific topic or question. Writing a summary about other works can demonstrate the depth of familiarity of a chosen topic. In order to further one's understanding, or research, studying the works of others is important because multiple disciplines may have competing explanations for a given subject. Literature review is also structured in a particular style that creates a uniform way for writers to articulate their ideas in a fashion the reader is familiar with. Craig Anderson uses the APA guidelines to create a clear structure for his review studying the effects of heat and violence. The structure of a literature review typically follows a certain format and order. In Anderson's, review Heat and Violence, he starts this process with a title that describes what the article is about. Following the title of the paper is an abstract, or overview, of what the entire article is about. Because there are a number of...

...Riverside Casino and Golf Resort / Stacy Benson Topic Title Performance Reviews NO. This title won’t work. What about performance reviews? If you were doing a simple research paper you could write about performance reviews based on research alone. In this Sr Paper you must determine the state of the art based on your Literature Review. Then you will give the background of the problem and discuss it. This must all lead to two Courses of Action (COAs; solutions) that are tied to your title and problem. You need a “product” such as a process, a plan, a strategy, a program – something that can be recommended and implemented. Problem Statement (if not finalized post a draft – focus on the "pain.") The problem is that after initial training employees are not being reviewed for current performance. Suggest that after this initial statement you add something more about the problem. Brief Topic Overview The casino is experiencing a high turnover rate of employees because after their initial training they are put on the floor without any further review. In the handbook employees are supposed to have a review after 90 days but they are not being implemented. This leaves the casino with under qualified employees that eventually terminate their employment due to not feeling able to meet the high demands. The solution to this problem, if it is the problem, is simple. Just IMPLEMENT PERFORMANCE REVIEWS. You can see...

Consider who you’d go to extremes to avoid working with if you had a say. Here is the format for peer evaluations. Include the team member’s full name (1), and be specific about (2) what the team member did or did not do. At the end, if you were employed with this person, (3) would you recommend (a) Promoting, (b) Retaining (Keep in position), (c) Retaining with counseling to improve performance or (d) firing/replacing. Thus a recommendation to promote would be reserved for the truly exceptional team member Team Member 1: LEXA CREAMER As a team member with Lexa Creamer on the team marketing plan project, I feel qualified to speak about his/her job performance. Lexa’s contribution to the project was timely and significant. She accepts correction easily and is always willing to assist in any way that she can. I believe Lexa’s strengths are enthusiasm and timely submission of her work. I believe her weakness is the lack of flexibility. Lexa had to miss some of the meetings due to time conflicts...

...Concept Comparison and Analysis Jo Ann Tyler Green NUR/513 10/15/2012 Michelle Johnson Concept Comparison and Analysis The concept, quality of life, as used in nursing theories, is presented in a historically situated context. This approach to concept analysis was selected to illuminate the subjective, contextual, and fluid nature of the concept. Based on this review, quality of life is defined as an intangible, subjective perception of one’s lived experience. From a review of Peplau’s, Rogers’, Leininger’s, King’s, and Parse’s conceptualizations of quality of life, it is concluded that it may be viable to replace health with quality of life as a meta-paradigm concept for nursing. There are numerous definitions of quality of life that exist. Described as experiences of life (Meeberg, 1993), satisfaction with life, and well-being (Ferrans, 1996; Haas, 1999; (Meeberg, 1993), the definition of quality of life lacks precision and specificity. Consistency is important because “differences in meaning can lead to profound differences in outcomes for research, clinical practice, and allocation of health care resources” (Ferrans, 1996, p. 294). Nurses have made important contributions to understanding this concept. The quality of life has been examined in groups of people experiencing a particular illness or health deficit, such as cancer or heart disease (C. R. King, 1998). Quality of life concept analyses have focused on existential aspects of the concept. However, these...

In other words, standard-setting cannot base on personal conceptual frameworks; it will lead to wrong conclusions about identical or similar issues than it did previously. As a result, past decisions is not treat as future ones, standards cannot be consistent with one another. Furthermore, the conceptual framework should be paying attention to users’ understanding about financial reporting. On the other hand, the development of conceptual framework should solve new or emerging problems quickly. Development of a conceptual framework Conceptual framework has a different definition for IASB and FASB, IASB’s conceptual framework usually is described in the document, FASB’ conceptual framework is a series of concept statements. ...you do not pay attention or do your math homework. I strongly advise you to do your math homework everyday, not for just a grade, but it also helps you when it comes time for quizzes and tests. She rarely checks homework, but when she does, she will not tell you. It is also a great review for tests and quizzes. Ms.Hull’s tests and quizzes are not the easiest things you will take. The quizzes take new concepts and apply to the quiz. Also, her tests are usually always hard. It is a good idea to practice new concepts and review old ones from previous units, so you can get a good grade on the tests. I also advise you to be organized throughout the year. Organization is the key to success especially in math class. Tool kits are an extremely helpful resource to use. There are going to be a lot of conjectures and theorems that will be new, and it would be hard to just memorize them. My overall geometry year was not exactly the way I hoped it would turn out. It was extremely had, and it moves at a very quick pace, so keeping up was hard for me personally. If I could have done something differently, it would have been practicing math more often. Each concept was hard, and I did not have anytime to review it, because I have a lot of honors classes which require a lot of work too. The key to being successful in this course is to pay attention, practice a lot outside of class, and do ALL of your homework. If you do that, I am sure your year...
