...Game Journal 6 The school of criticism that made the most sense to me was by far the biographical critique. In my opinion the vast majority of the other critiques read as though the author was simply trying to find examples for that particular type of critique where there was probably very little intentioned meaning behind it. Some of the meaning behind the game that was analyzed seemed as though it was forced. The biographical critique, however, analyzes the author’s intent behind the game using quotes from the author himself. This lends more authority to the critique and prevented it from feeling as though meaningless aspects of the game were being critiqued. In the biographical critique for Katamari Damacy the critic uses the author’s own words to describe how the author intended the game to affect his audience. This is information straight from the source and thus allows for the game to be looked at in a new light. The author intended the game’s peaceful, fun, game that is almost devoid of conflict to brighten the lives of everyone that played it and thus make the world better. The critic in a more thorough analysis could then have described whether the game is successful in doing that, and if so by how much. The biographical critique provided the author’s motivations behind making the game. This is a strong basis on which to critique the game. Analyze the author’s intent behind making the game along with how well the game imparts the author’s message. By doing this...

...be wrong but my opinion on “Young people need models not critics” still holds. I do however slightly understand when adults want us to know right from wrong, and know to do the right thing. My problem with this is after or in some occasions before they preach to us about being the best we can be, they demonstrate the total opposite. Being part of the younger generation I’m not sure if I’m speaking for myself when I say we don’t need a how to. What we need are people who understand us and who demonstrate the things that they speak upon, rather than pointing fingers and demonstrating the opposite of which they speak. Adults aren’t perfect but if they’re able to critique the actions of the younger generation, they should be able to perform those same things they advised us to do better. Maybe its even better to not critique us, and once we...

...Cervantes, Jayson A. Mxt-221 Crisis in the Public Education in the Philippines A Critique Paper On Politics and Governance with Philippine Contitution The Crisis of Public Education in the Philippines INTRODUCTION Section 1, Article XIV of the 1987 Philippine Constitution states that “the State shall protect and promote the right of all citizens to quality education at all levels, and shall take appropriate steps to make such education accessible to all”. Truly, the state must provide an accessible and quality education to all the citizens of this country regardless of their social status and also the education the state must provide is free at all levels. This means that the government must provide all the facilities, equipment, and teacher force to educate its citizens. However, nowadays, Philippine educational system earns its prestige having produced a low quality graduates due to some factors. Thus, the current administration decided to upgrade Philippine educational system to a k+12 basic education curriculum thinking that it is the years we have studied that we learn a lot not knowing the fact that public institutions’ facilities are in scarcity. ...For more than a decade, with the explosion of modern technology, consumers have been approached and overwhelmed with multimedia advertising types and creative elements. This has brought not only a big concern about the effectiveness of traditional TV commercials but also many arguments over the time of TV commercials among many advertisers and marketers around the world. To address this matter, Jeri Smith, president and CEO of advertising research firm Communicus, has recently published an editorial called “Screen Time” in the Marketing Insights. In her piece of writing, she strongly supports the role of traditional TV commercials within an overall integrated advertising campaign which targets mass audiences and clearly points out that TV commercials just need to evolve. In order to convince her target audiences, advertisers and marketers, in her epideictic argument, Jeri analyzes and evaluates the power of TV commercials compared with non – traditional media types. She appeals her audiences by adopting logos with supporting facts and data, making her persuasion even more powerful. Jeri opens her analysis by giving us a thorough background of current marketplace and her key observation on the performance of the traditional TV commercials today: “Interestingly, the traditional TV commercial is still around today, with U.S. marketers spending nearly $80 billion per year on TV advertising.”

...Thinking about my individual writing process has caused me to forget how I begin a paper. It’s strange to think about the concept of what writing is before you actually write something. After reading over the assigned pages to give me the help I need to discover what my individual writing process is I “skimmed” over freewriting. I tend to just start writing and let my thoughts flow and I feel like it’s what best suits my writing style. So here we go. My individual writing process includes freewriting, lists, and looping. I like to use freewriting because I enjoy continually writing and letting my ideas flow out. Sometimes when I get stuck, it helps me to have a list of the things that I want to include in my writing so I can elaborate and expand on them. After I get to a certain point, I use the process of looping. Looping can be considered a side effect of freewriting. I loop by rereading what I have written and decide if I like the order and the theme of my...

While a boring movie might not keep your attention, a movie rife with false details does not teach you true history.
