End of 15 years

1. Xavier was involved in many activities and experience during the age of 12 and 14, which promotes healthy behavioral practices, physical fitness, and skill in sports. Xavier tried out for the baseball team, but unfortunately did not make it. However, I encouraged him to be part of another team. Xavier put his energy playing tennis and baseball with his friends. Xavier seem to enjoy playing with his friends, even if he is aware his not that good in sports. Another activities that Xavier did that promotes physical health is the nature hike that we took together. Xavier and I had a great time at the hike, and wanted to come back again.

2. Xavier and I argue occasionally about chores, and sometimes his outfit for the day. I chose not to cause a major scene based on those minor problems, because it seems as atypical teenager issues. In my opinion, Xavier is going through a period of searching for an identity, called psychosocial moratorium. Psychosocial moratorium is the period when adolescent get to experience different identity and roles as they grow up (Dolgin, 2011, p.38). Xavier is most likely giving me a hard time because he feels as it’s his time, to choose who to be, and how to dress. As a result, I am more lenient with Xavier as he expressed himself. …show more content…
Xavier wants to stay up later than what I originally enforce. However, I feel like his too young to be choosing his own bedtime. I believe this is occurring because Xavier is modeling the behavior of his friends. Modeling occurs by acting out the behavior you’ve seen someone else had done (Doldgin, 2011, p.41). Xavier’s friends were probably bragging about how they get to stay up late, and Xavier thought it was a good time to have the same treatment as his friends. He did not want to be the only one in his group of friends to have an early bedtime. So he fight me on changing his

...head: FIGHTING FOR DEAR LIFE: AN ETHICAL CASE STUDY ON Fighting for Dear Life: An Ethical Case Study on Terri Schiavo Catherine Grace Bautista Adventist University of Health Sciences Ethical and Legal Issues in Healthcare HTCA543 Dr. Stanley Dobias February 24, 2015 1 FIGHTING FOR DEAR LIFE: AN ETHICAL CASE STUDY ON 2 Introduction Death is inevitable. However, for some of us, we fail to express our final wishes to our loved ones and this more often than not ends in conflict. In the United States, it is necessary for an individual to have a living will since this provides answers to end of life issues that would be in question. The story of Terri Schiavo was a case study worthy of note given that concerns or conflicts about end of life care have never been a source of familial dispute in my native country, the Philippines. Her 15-year saga brought about several questions that correspond to moral, ethical, and legal issues. Terri Schiavo’s end of life issue has now set a treacherous precedent for all vulnerable Americans, especially those who are in the marginalized sector: the disabled, those who have terminal illnesses, those who can no longer speak for themselves, and perhaps one day even to those who are indigent and unable to pay for costly health care. These individuals may become gradually compelled to make the choice to die and “get out of the way” notwithstanding their true wishes. Early Years Therese Marie Schindler was born to devout...

Ocean Carriers

...Ocean Carriers: Case Study MBA 540 Fall 204 Janelle Roche King Quaidoo Suzanne Ekstrom Net Present Value: 15 Year Evaluation if the United States with a 35% Taxation Net present value is used in order to determine the present value of an investment by the discounted sum of all cash flows received from a project. In this case this would be the calculation of the single project capital budgeting for Ocean Carriers Inc. and a purchase of 15 year operation vessel. This 15 year time span would begin in 2000 and continue until 2017. Ocean Carries Inc. in this scenario would be subject to the United States 35% taxation. In order to calculate the net present value the free cash flow had to be calculated. Using the formula; EBIAT + depreciation – capital expenditure - change in net revenue + after tax proceeds from the sale of a ship (Year 17: $645,899 + $1,630,000 - 0 - ($756,295) + $8,710,000 = $11,742,193.61) the free cash flow was calculated. Using that calculation the present value of the free cash flow was calculated using the formula; Free cash flow / (1 + 9%) ^ Event year. After summing the total of the present value free cash flow the conclusion was the net present value. After fully comprising the single project capital budget it can be concluded that the Net Present Value would equal -$7,805,694. The net present value rule states that an investment should be accepted if its net present value is greater than zero and should be rejected if it is less than zero. Following...

...A case study for a manufacturing company called AcuScan, Inc was fulfilled. The case study involves "Operation Optimize" which plans to bring a new retail iScanner to the market. The study is given in two parts. The first part summarizes the case study and provides the assumptions, arguments problems, and issues of the situation. The second part is an executive summary written for Cliff O'Conner, CEO at AcuScan, Inc. including recommendations for a solution for the company's crisis. He assumes that only one feature of the Optimize application can be developed by the company's dead line of August first. Based on his conversations and e-mails with Chris, Kelly believes that together the iScann project and financial plan are at risk. Kelly assumes that quality control is of greatest significance for this project. Legal Case Study

...Legal Case Study This study is about a 41 year old woman whose name is Terri Schiavo. She was in a persistent vegetative state for 15 years with a brain injury before she died on March 31, 2005. This paper discusses her 15 year ordeal, the effects of it on her husband and family, Terri’s right to die, and the importance of end of life choices. We discuss the ethical and legal issues involved in the decision making of this case. Her husband and family disagreed on how to handle her situation, whether or not to remove her feeding tube. Even though their Terri was in both of their best interest, they could not agree on, would removing the feeding tube be killing her or letting her die? Ethical Importance Terri had left no written instructions as to what her wishes might be if she were no longer able to make her own medical decisions. The only thing that the court and her family had to go on was what her husband and family remembered her saying in conversation over the years. The memories of her husband and family were very different. In the beginning of this ordeal they both agreed that everything should be done for Terri’s survival because at that time there was hope. After a while, when Terri did not appear to be changing, or getting better, her husband believed that the quality of life that Terri had was not the quality that she would have wanted had she been able to voice her opinion. “Michael Schiavo said his wife had said that she would never want to be...
