Bilingual language and education amongst students involves teaching academics and content of two languages in a native and secondary language with varying amounts of each language. Bilingual education is beneficial to student’s cognitive development, educational experience and functions of communication with life obstacles. However few minorities believe that Bilingual education is harmful to the upcoming generation in fear of cultural confusion. The Brain benefits from bilingual education by expanding a child’s cognitive ability to understand store and utilize another language besides their native language. Although kids in bilingual classes are not thinking much about the nature of their brains when they are in school each morning, they’re only aware of the rich and lyrical experience of learning bilingually. Studies have shown that multilingual students are nimbler, quicker, and are able to deal with obligations and resolve conflicts, resulting in an extra stash of mental sharpness of mind. Similar to Rodriguez in the “Hunger of Memory” Rodriguez experience bilingual education first hand. Rodriguez had to learn a language that barely exists in his education pattern without losing his culture, family and most importantly his parents. As a result Rodriguez had to learn how to control what he was taught as oppose to what he’s learn. Rodriguez continues to state that education was a challenging experience at first until he became fully assimilated. Although becoming fully assimilated under another language and culture was an overwhelming, Rodriguez decided to understand his obstacles of learning through trial and error with unexpected situations. Mainly steaming from his roots, Rodriguez gained a since of confidence through education despite his parents personal opinions. Rodriguez is a clear example of the success rate on Bilingual education for students who are immigrants to the United States. Knowing the difference between learning and understanding has shown bilingual education develops students into educated bilingual adults. Furthermore bilingual education has become a recurring trend throughout the United States education system. Students learning to speak a Multilanguage are able to learn sufficiently throughout different environments. Most common of bilingual language and its culture is the language of Spanish. The language of Spanish which primarily is used by Hispanics effects bilingual education and culture tremendously. Majority of bilingual students in United States are either reading, writing or speaking Spanish. Hispanics are mainly known to hold the majority percentage of bilingual students, as a result bilingual education allows Hispanics and other culture display the benefit of being multilingual and knowing the differences of two languages for communication. The most obvious advantage of being bilingual is the ability to communicate in two languages, developmental experts used to think that learning two languages from birth would result in language confusion and impaired abilities in both languages; not only have they been proven wrong, but the exact opposite is true. Speaking two languages gives bilinguals better insights into, and better ability to communicate in, both languages. Casey Schwartz states “Some of the most valuable mental perks of bilingualism can’t be measured at all. To speak more than one language is to inherit a global consciousness that opens the mind to more than one culture or way of life”.

Additionally as students grow older and comes in contact with everyday life obstacles, being bilingual and possessing the knowledge and ability of knowing two or more languages begins to work in their favor. As studies shown people who are bilingual are 60% percent more likely to be hired by employers. Bilinguals are in high demand as our world becomes more integrated with one another. Employers look at Bilinguals as a “goldmine” City info states, “it’s easier to get jobs, and they often pay more” referring to bilingual candidates. Employers value bilingual employees for their ability to communicate with both customers and fellow employees leaving no one shy of receiving the best possible service or business experience.
All things considered being bilingual is a hidden important skill to possess. Bilingual education expands mental capacity & delivers a clear and better communication experience between people. With the advantage of knowing more than one language as opposed to monolinguals, people who are bilingual are more than likely able to have a successful career. Proving that being bilingual is beyond confusing but helpful in all aspects.
