...Keirsey Report Upon taking the Keirsey Classic Temperament Report, I was placed into the temperament category “Guardian”, with the subtype of “Supervisor(ESTJ)” The study went further into my personality type and found me to be extremely “Tough-Minded and Scheduled”, while finding me less “Friendly” than average. The other qualities were all approximately average. The temperament of “Guardian” implies that I likely possess traits of; dependability, hard work, strong work ethic, devotion, and more. The Subtype of “Supervisor” takes the traits of “Guardian” a step further and applies them to the career aspect of life. In theory, “Guardians” with the subtype, “Supervisor”, are highly social community minded people, and are likely to take charge in group situations. Often the optimal career lines for these individuals are that of management or administration in a social, political or business scenario. In my opinion, this survey has given a very accurate of my temperament at this point in time of my life. For me, this survey just re-enforced my own opinion of what traits I naturally demonstrate in life and my professional career so far. In situations where I have an interest, I usually assert myself and become a natural leader of the situation as well as assisting others in finding what skills or traits they possess that are of the highest value to the group effort. For example, I regularly play recreation paintball with some of my friends and the UNLV paintball club, and when...

...Personality type ESTJ is a unique combination. Out of the 16 personality types, ESTJ’s account for 8.7% of the US population. ESTJ stands for: Extraversion, Sensing, Thinking, and Judgement (The Supervisor). With the strength and boldness coming from an ESTJ it is very hard to overlook them. Do not think you can break any plans with them, trust me, they like to have everything planned out. If their plans do not work out, that ESTJ is not a happy camper. The ESTJ personality comes with many strengths. One strength being the act of loyalty towards anyone (16 personalities). As one would do, if himself or herself let someone down, it is a major problem. Some people would not even think twice about letting someone down and that is because of their certain personality type. However, for ESTJ’s that is one of the worst things you could possibly do. Another strength for them is how strongly they enforce rules no matter what the situation is. For some people following rules is very hard, or buckling down to peer pressure to not follow them can also be a problem but for ESTJ’s it is there second nature. I bet you would not be surprised when I say ESTJ’s have to be organized. Do not think one can go without...

...Personal Development Plan Learning that Jungian Test classified my personality, as ‘ESTJ’ was probably the most interesting thing, I’ve learned thus far. Its very intriguing to read about other personalities, let alone my own. I even had my husband take the test! The description of ESTJ personality fits me like a glove. I’ve never really noticed, but I do find myself being strict to traditions and laws, and having a clear set of standards and beliefs. I expect the same of others, and I tend to find that I have no patience or understanding of individuals who do not have the same morals and standards. ESTJ personality also describes me as a social person who has a clear vision of the way things should be, and being very aggressive, typically taking leadership. I’m often told I work a crowd well and I’m always the first person to suggest a decision and go with it. My ESTJ personality type seems to coincide well with the Locus of Control results. Finding out that I have a moderate internal locus of control, and taking control of the events that affect me in my day-to-day activities. Also, I learned just how productive I can and cannot be, coinciding with how stressed I actually am. I believe you never fully realize what stage of stress you were actually at until it’s either over, or someone sits down and points it out to you. I am very productive, I tend to multitask a lot, solely because I am always pressed for time, and stressed to the max. I feel as if I cannot function...

...February 2012 Differences in personalities are where almost everyone around the world can make it or break it while trying to communicate with one another. The reason behind this is simply because of needs, backgrounds, personal preferences, values and beliefs for every unique individual. Many Americans feel that if someone has a difference in viewpoints than themselves then they are wrong or immoral in their thinking and in their actions. What most don’t think about are the underlying reasons behind these decisions and thoughts that are the reinforcing drive behind every action and reaction. The Myers- Briggs Type Indicator is based on Carl Jung’s theory that what seems to be random in the behaviors of humans is really very orderly and consistent, due to certain basic difference in the way people approach life (Carlyn). Jung organized people based on their personality, archetypes, and collective unconscious and grouped them based on their attitude types (extraverted and introverted) and the functions of the mind which are thinking, feeling, sensing and intuition. These four scales: extroversion-introversion (E-I), sensation-intuition (S-I), thinking-feeling (T-F), and judgment-perception (J-P) are what make up the 16 possible personality types which goes into the design of this paper and its break down of the two (opposite) personality types—ESTJ & INFP. In this paper I will discuss the different preferences both of these personalities lean toward and what lifestyles...

...This paper will breakdown the personality type of an ESTJ and how they fit in the workplace setting. The Jung Typology Test is a test written by Carl Jung and Isabel Briggs Meyers that identifies peoples personalities based on the answers given to certain personality questions. The test will give you your personality in four letters, mine being ESTJ, where each of the letters describes a certain part of your personality. Based on the information I have found on my personality type, I know what jobs I would work best in, what learning style works best for me, how my communication skills affect me at my workplace, and even other famous people who are also ESTJ’s. This paper will go into detail of each of the four letters of ESTJ, being Extroverted, Sensing, Thinking, and Judging, and how I have applied them in my daily workplace. It will also tell how I react and interact with those of the other personality types as well....

...initially expected. I learned how to first lead within myself and I believe that the concept of self-leadership alone will contribute to me being a better leader. I think that with the use of self-leadership strategies, such as cues and self-talk, I can efficiently influence myself to be a better leader. MBIT Personality According to the MBIT personality temperament assessment, my type is ESTJ (extravert, sensing, thinking, & judging). ESTJ personality types are said to prosper on coordination and progression. Being extraverted, ESTJs tend to concentrate on the arrangement of people, which is an indicator of superintendence. I see myself displaying these traits in everyday life. When preparing for a simple night out with friends I want the night to be planned and organized. Although I like to have a good time, I also believe in a higher authority and following rules. ESTJs see the world for what it is by sensing and transfer those views unemotionally; as extraverted-judgers; they have a thrusting desire to inflict their opinions on the world around them with infrastructure, order, and agenda (Kroeger & Thuesen, 2013). As a result of an ESTJ personality type my strengths include being realistic, dependable, loyal, honest, and a natural leader....

...INFP Personality Type: Not Just Dreamers – Healing The Wounded My confirmed MBTI profile is INFP, which was no surprise because this were the same letter preferences I had pick last week during the reading exercises. Being an INFP academically means that we are more interested in topics that covers humanities and the human experience as a whole. Autonomous - is probably the best word to describe an INFP like me. We do not much conform to rules, guidelines. We like to experiment and apply theories to real life. We thrive in an educational system where our interests are piqued. Topics such as human and social sciences interests us the most. While we learn new theories easily, we also tend to apply and validate these theories in real life....

...Jason Hosler HO2464120 MGT201. Communication and Soft Skills Assignment 1 My psychological type is Extraverted Sensing Thinking Judging I have been in the United States Navy for 19 years, being that I am an ESTJ type fits how I manage over 260 Sailors daily. Everything that I do on a daily basis consists of organization that I must pass down to the leadership below me to make sure that at the beginning and the end of a work day these young men and woman produce solid work to launch and recover aircraft safely on decks of Aircraft Carriers. Every decision that I make on a daily basis is passed down from either the upper chain of command or is an agenda that I have structured throughout my years of experience and have taught these men and woman working for and around me. Every day on the job is a new experience and I must be ready to lead these young Sailors from my years of experience and knowledge without skipping a beat whether it is planned or something new or not even seen in my career. My dependability on the job and the way I handle everyday business is observed from my superiors and my subordinates, which means the way I display myself depicts my power in my profession and how I get these young Sailors to follow me with no hesitation. Many of personnel that I have dealt with in my career have called me arrogant, cocky and stubborn. But in my mind it’s just the way of completing the job with confidence in myself and in my Sailors. Many of ALRE Maintenance Officers that...

...1. Detailed Overview of Test Results I took the Myers-Briggs test through 16Personalities, and I was surprised, as I had received a different result when I took the Myers-Briggs test last year through Naviance, and pleased by the results. I was categorized as extroverted, observant, thinking, and judging (ESTJ), and I believe that the description provided by 16Personalities, deemed “The Executive,” describes me perfectly. In summary, I am practical, realistic, and matter-of-fact. Furthermore, I am decisive, as I quickly move to implement decisions, and I organize projects and people to get things done in the most efficient way possible. I also have a clear set of logical standards that I systematically follow, and I want others to follow as well, which is sometimes detrimental. Moreover, I am, at times, stubborn and forceful when implementing my plans. Per the website, ESTJs are natural auditors, financial officers, lawyers, and business administrators. Luckily, I hope to study finance and international studies, which can result in a job as a corporate lawyer, investment banker, or...

...MBA: My Bachelor’s Ain’t…enough! Management 521 MBA: My Bachelor’s Ain’t…enough! Pursuing an MBA is simply another way of saying, “My Bachelor’s degree just Ain’t enough!” Obtaining a Bachelor’s degree should be considered an amazing accomplishment. However, many have come to the realization that it is, in fact, inadequate. The status of the current economy is a leading indicator that something beyond a Bachelor’s degree is needed. A potential stepping stone beyond a Bachelor’s degree is an MBA, which opens up a great deal of opportunity compared to a Bachelor’s. Many reasons exist for an MBA to be sought out and why a bachelor’s just “Ain’t enough.” Some of the top reasons to pursue an MBA are that a Bachelor’s degree does not provide the potential to make enough money, give the education to be marketable enough, or give enough prestige to the degree holder. A study in the Journal of Marketing for Higher Education led by Lynn Dailey, MBA, PhD, marketing professor at Capital University, Columbus, OH, showed that career advancement, financial security, and elevated social status/prestige (see Table 1) are within the top 5 reasons to pursue an MBA (Dailey 148). Because of the current trend and these economical times, a Bachelor’s degree is just not enough. Pursuing and obtaining an MBA is an excellent way to make more money in the long run, to make one more marketable, and to give one more prestige than with a bachelor’s degree. One of the top reasons heard most for the...

...main focus of the studies in this module was the Myers Briggs Type Indicators. These indicators describe the way in which different people think and approach the world. It tells us that each one of us has preferences from the four descriptors giving a possible 16 personality types, Extraverted/Introverted, Sensing/INtuitive, Thinking/Feeling, Judging/Perceiving. After reading through descriptions of each type, I assessed myself as having an ISFJ type. However, when my results arrived from the MBTI Test completed online, my results were an ESTJ type. Upon reading into the characteristics I questioned whether I was really an extrovert as I have always thought of myself as shy and reserved. The traits of an extravert are those who are energised when they talk though tasks with others and prefer to act after doing so. They enjoy the company of others especially if discussions and projects are in an area of common interest. I originally chose the Feeling type as I consider myself a people person; however I also like to be objective and to look at things logically and debate the issues. After this further analysis, I decided the ESTJ type better described me. Since I have read about the different personality types, I feel it will help me with how to better communicate with work colleagues. When communicating with other extroverts, one should aim to do so face to face. If in groups allow interaction, focus on action and be aware of their preference for an immediate response...
