Introduction Information technology in combination with changes in organizational structures and methods of working has led to an increasing amount of information and also to totally new forms of information and in the creation of records. Much of the information previously produced on paper is now being produced in electronic form, for example as e-mail and in databases. The Dutch archive theoretician Eric Ketelaar [1999] has invented the word “archivalisation” to describe the phenomenon where more and more material is deemed to be worthy of documenting and archiving. This means that a considerably larger amount of information requires handling. Electronically generated and stored information is also exposed to change and manipulation in quite a different way to that involved with paper-bound information. The e-government services, where the whole idea is to exchange information electronically, will radically redirect paperbound information and documents towards electronically generated and managed information and documents. A 10-year period is a long time when dealing with the preservation of electronic records. This is of course due to the rapid technological development, and includes, for example, the problems associated with obsolete software and file formats. A local funeral director was interviewed about final preparations, the purpose of a modern funeral, how people cope with death, and unusual request for funeral services. A brief discussion how some modern funeral traditions were originated and why death is almost always attached to fear will also be addressed. Death is still reacted to with fear even with all the modern scientific and medical knowledge that is available to our society. Since no one has ever died and returned to tell about what death is really like, we as humans have a natural fear of what is not understood or cannot be controlled (www.wyfda.org 1). This accident let him see life from a different perspective. As he sees it which one would you choose to be? Would you want to be the apple or the tomatoes? When he asks that question, he means would you rather be like everyone else or would you be that one individual who’s not like everyone else. I find his answer very interesting and also meaningful. I feel as if Mark Hunter is saying to be water is to the greatest thing because without water nothing or no one can survive. Water is the source of everything. ...What Is Operant Conditioning? Operant conditioning (sometimes referred to as instrumental conditioning) is a method of learning that occurs through rewards and punishments for behavior. Through operant conditioning, an association is made between a behavior and a consequence for that behavior. Operant conditioning was coined by behaviorist B.F. Skinner, which is why you may occasionally hear it referred to as Skinnerian conditioning. As a behaviorist, Skinner believed that internal thoughts and motivations could not be used to explain behavior. Instead, he suggested, we should look only at the external, observable causes of human behavior. Skinner used the term operant to refer to any "active behavior that operates upon the environment to generate consequences" (1953). In other words, Skinner's theory explained how we acquire the range of learned behaviors we exhibit each and every day. Examples of Operant Conditioning We can find examples of operant conditioning at work all around us.
