...EVERY NOW AND THEN Being one of the minorities sometimes makes you proud, especially, when that minority was once familiar, the one which was right in the eyes of the once young but now, for the young ones, we find it strange. Proud and sad. I had these mixed emotions when we had the activity “10 steps before sexual intercourse” June 21, 2012. Proudly, we were one of the minorities, one of the minorities who still live on the lessons given by our grandparents, one of the minorities who still believe that there should be a thing called marriage and value it by being a pure one on your first time, one of the minorities who were able to think what is supposed to be done by a Filipina woman knowing our culture, one of the minorities whom I can say are least influenced by the western culture as we call it. Sadly, we were one of the minorities who have thoughts and plans that are left behind in our age today, one of the minorities whom our age level would think are kill joys, one who still live up on the lessons from our parents and refuse to make mistakes on our own and learn our lessons then on. This is the first thing which I thought was once strange but now find it familiar. Courtship. Harana. A Philippine culture of courtship which is usually done at night, the guy will sing a song for the girl he’s trying to please. A scene so very familiar in the same country I live in at the time when my grandparents where in my age. I haven’t seen anyone do it nowadays, there may be...

...At the moment... He must be so lonely right now. There must be no spark in his eyes right now. There must be no melody within his voice. Just a piece of strength running through his veins. Sad songs echo in his soul and continue to rip his heart. His world must be weary right now. His spirit must be chilled right now. The memories keep on coming back, tears flow as swift as Mercury and continuous like the waters bounded by Poseidon. His heart must be enraged by whirlwinds right now. Lightning strikes, thunder roars and fire sets. The pain must be eating him right now. His clenched fist trying to avast every sign of hurt that ruptures every inch of vim. I can see his eyes swallowed by ache and yearning. His body must be a lifeless life right now, his whole being stunned by a tragedy that comes not with notice, come in a blink of an eye, in a tick of the time. I wonder what he's doing right now. I wonder what he's talking, to whom and where. I wonder if someone is wiping the tears that dries in his eyes right now. I wonder if someone is whispering those words that can somehow at least reduce the pain that crashes through him. I wonder if someone embraces him the way I want him to feel safe and not alone. I wonder if someone sings him the melody that can melt his fears away and soothes him to sleep, in peace, in tranquility, in ardor. Even if I know that there are thousands of people trying to cheer him, I can feel the loneliness and there's this wanting in...

...Leadership skills are important for every person to grasp, whether they are the intern at the very bottom of the totem pole or the CEO and owner at the very top. Leadership skills are valuable in every aspect of life, even outside of the work place. The ten truths of leaderships explained by James M. Kouzes and Barry Z. Posner are indeed truths to make a better leader in the work place but can also be applied to everyday life. You make a difference. I very much agree that each and every person must believe that they have the ability to make a difference in their own life and the lives of people around them. We cannot allow ourselves to go around asking, will we make a difference, but instead we must ask what difference we will make. Anyone...

...A Welcomed Relief: Obamacare In My Home Jenna Tennyson \ A Welcomed Relief: Obamacare in my household In today’ day in age, we have so many Americans that are at or below what we now consider to be the “working class”. My family and I are a part of this group. While the cost of living can be enough to financially break a family of four, take into consideration the cost of healthcare. The two together are nearly impossible to afford. I feel privileged to be able to partake in our county’s new Obamacare program. It will be an affordable and accessible system that will provide so many, including myself and my family, the healthcare that we deserve. Among all of the resources that Obamacare will provide, mental healthcare will be the resource that I favor most. Obamacare is a blessing to so many individuals and families because it is finally an affordable solution to our healthcare imbalance. For so long, people like me were delayed or denied health services simpley because they could not afford the premiums. We now have the opportunity to be treated equal regaurdless of our economic status. According to the facts on Obamacare, affordable healthcare should cost no more than eight percent of a person’s annual income. (This percentage will be a fraction larger for individuals that earn higher than average income. In those cases, a special tax will be applied. There will obviously be nay sayers to this new policy, but I believe that work done for the greater good of our country...

...Gym-Goers The gym. Once the temple of adherents to the religion of the ripped, the dogma of dips and the biceps bible has now found itself home to a very diverse mix of people. The gym is now teeming with people who all have varying goals, disciplines and attitudes all attempting to co-exist under the same roof. For the men, the categories of gym goers are the lunks, punks, hunks and the pervs. For the women, we have the powerchicks, the profilers, and the procrastinators. But let’s get started first with the men. Firstly, we have the lunks and if you’ve ever been to a gym these are probably the guys you’re going to have a tough time tuning out. They’re storm around draped in their muscle tees and lifting belts with their tattoos gleaming from the buckets of sweat rolling off their skin. They grunt with every rep, drop their weights to the floor without constraint and are ultimately the nosiest people you will find at the gym. Next, you have the punks. These guys are the ones looked down upon at the gym. Often times they’re dragged there by their female companions who are looking to burn some weight and are in dire need of a cheer leader. These guys fill that role! They’re the weak ones, often times afraid to step anywhere near a free weight. They are there simply to provide support to their female companions. Thirdly, we have the hunks. Now these guys are dedicated to fitness but aren’t as boisterous as their lunk brethren. They go in, get their work done and look...

...So, again to you and the many others who move through this life, grow with each moment, treasure each second, and be together throughout toll and strife. PEACE… BOTTOM LINE: LUV! Ole lady and I had a quarrel which led to a mental fight. No way to let this go on when it makes you lose a lot of sleep at night. So, I offered these words which have implications to lovers everywhere; especially when there’s mental friction and unrest two people often share. “When we invited each other inside walls that surround us every day, We accept the responsibilities to make each other comfortable in every way.” Now these few words may not seem very much to outsiders passing judgment. But two people create their own individual language to make easy love’s betterment. We all treat people we meet in the same fashion of the lines above. It’s how we grow to know the different meanings of friendship and love. Check it out and see if the bottom line comes out the same. If not, then surely it was a pleasure entertaining you with our game. “My Love and Me” Never Love Another!!! There’s a song written and performed that touched my heart. It inspired lovers to renew an inner vow, to never ever...

...0054 | 2014 | 8,388,608 | $69.99 | $0.0085 | The cost of RAM in 1957 was about 49 dollars per bit, whereas today the price is not anywhere even close to that, it is a small fraction of a penny. The cost of hard drive space in 1980 was around 286 dollars per bit and today it is also just a very small fraction of a penny. According to Moore’s law the number of components in integrated circuits will double every year and a half since the invention of integrated circuits in 1958. In 2010 the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors believed that growth would slow down by the end of 2013 which would put the growth to doubling every three years instead of every year and a half. With that in mind and based on the charts for memory and storage prices, you could get around double the space every three years for the same price. In 2010 for 100 dollars you could buy 4GB of RAM, now in 2015 you can buy 8GB of RAM for the same price. That’s actually moving a little slower than doubling every three years but for the sake of simplicity we’ll go with every three years. So if you could buy 4GB in 2010...

...One, Who holds us all, not only in the palm of Her hand, but the softest place in Her heart. I come to You this day, entreating and invoking Your direct aide and assistance in ending something on earth, which I find to be offensive and very painful to You. Oh Dear Mother, won’t You help us to overturn this terrible custom of suppression of Your own daughters, especially in the area of the Middle East, where barbaric customs are still continuing till this day. Oh Dear One, I need not remind You of these things, for You are She, who is feeling every one of them directly on Your own body. So I only want to let you know that I am here as Your daughter (and son if you are a man decreeing), and we are here to pledge our commitment, asking that you please help us to do whatever we can to end this thing, once and for all. We call for the stripping away of the veils that have been placed upon You in millions of cases and for centuries now. Let that be done! Let that be done! Let that be done! And, dear One, replace it,...
