Broward College is organized as a functional departmentalization. Broward college is broadly divided into divisions such as instructions. Instructions subdividing into departments that are made of specific subjects such as Science, mathematics, English, History, and International Relations. Within these departments there is a hierarchal relationship. Head of the departments would be a principal, followed by the department head, and last but not least the teacher. The advantages of having a functional departmentalization are having people with similar functions are easier to work together, each department is staffed by experts within the functional area, and training employees is simplified.
