In the auto industry the competition is always looking for ways to gain a competitive edge, so Ford needs to continually monitor the environments. o Informational Control- Ford doing the right things? Yes, the sales and profits are steadily increasing and customer service is high. This is due to Ford’s ability to create low cost but high efficient cars.

• Behavioral Control- This asks the question whether Ford is doing things right. “As we continue to serve our customers through our One Ford plan, along with product excellence delivered with passion and constant innovation” Mark Fields.

• Structure o Ford uses a divisional structure, which is organized around projects, products, or markets. In Ford’s case the many global departments all have their own general manager. o When One Ford plan was put into place a key component was for the four global segment leaders all come together to create “One Ford”.
