The current engagement score is a 4.52 and increased from last year by .40. The Gallup action plan this past year worked on building relationships and recognition.

For relationship building this year the team has gotten together after hours to go bowling and out for dinner, we celebrate quarterly anniversaries for both teams with a snack day and quizzes about the associates who are celebrating their anniversary. During the first half of the year recognition was tracked on how many Bravo's the team received, how much recognition was given as a team and how we did our on our agent surveys.

I also partnered with Megan to plan three combined team building events. The first was watching the movie Inside out which talks about your inter

Ethics of Ecology

...Wildlife Conservation Adam Burdick Bryant & Stratton College NSCI 280 Professor Wooten 10/20/2013 Human beings are considered to be the most advance species on the planet. This also makes us the most intrusive species on the planet. We effect our environment more than any other living creature. Our populations continue to grow exponentially each year and as they do we intrude on other species habitats even more. Considering we are the most advanced species it is our responsibility to ensure the safety of all other species and do what we can to shorten the endangered species list. The conservation of wildlife is an incredibly important goal that all people should take part in. “Successful species conservation has often been defined as simply the avoidance of extinction” (Redford 2011.) This is the most important goal of anyone interested in wildlife conservation. It is important for us as a species to take responsibility and make the effort to keep other species away from extinction. Wildlife conservation is not something that can only be handled by professional members of organizations. Anyone can do their part to help protect a species in need. In some cases it is as simple as refraining from harmful activities such as hunting for sport. Hunting is a major conservation concern (Selvan & Veeraswami, p11.) If people raise awareness about how hunting effects the populations of large bodied animals perhaps we can help to reduce the damage done to these...

Biodiversity

...Biodiversity Paper Biology as a science concerned with living organisms, said organism’s function, origin, structure, and distribution is defined through numerous subdivisions and branches. Conservation biology is a branch, which deals with certain factors threatening biodiversity as well as the preservation of genetic and biologic diversity of animal and plant species. Threatened, endangered, and extinct species are only some factors that may influence biodiversity. Any given species has to meet a certain criteria to suit the previously named terms. Conservation biologists are concerned with numerous species because of said species’ influence on the interrelation within their ecosystems, and the interruption of such ecosystem when the numbers of a certain species are drastically decreasing. Conservation biology is concerned with the maintenance of species, their genetic variation, ecosystems, and communities within such ecosystems. Biodiversity includes “The variety of life and its processes, including the variety of living organisms, the genetic difference among them, and the communities and ecosystem in which they occur” (U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, 2004, p. 1). Even though the term “species” is complex, and some definitions may differ slightly from others “A species is often defined as a group of individuals that actually or potentially interbreed in nature” (Berkley University, n.d., p. 1). Therefore, a species is defined as the greatest gene pool that can...

Marketers realize that emotions are important. But they’re not quite sure why—or what to do about it. by William J. McEwen Author of Married to the Brand (Gallup Press, 2005) and coauthor of the Harvard Business Review article “Inside the Mind of the Chinese Consumer” Source: Gallup Management Journal (http://gmi.gallup.com) It should come as no surprise that humans are emotional creatures. Even a casual glimpse into the nation’s driveways, liquor cabinets, and cosmetics shelves reveals that consumers make buying decisions based in part on their feelings and emotions about particular brands. And marketers have long recognized the fact that emotions play a key role when consumers are talking about—or purchasing—products in categories as disparate as those represented by brands like Mercedes, Kodak, and Louis Vuitton. Although none of this seems all that newsworthy, marketers appear to be rediscovering the power of human emotions, as evidenced by a raft of books and articles now in bookstores and on marketers’ desks. Perhaps you’ve already read Passion Branding, Emotional Branding, The Culting of Brands, or Lovemarks. Or you may have noticed that the Journal of Advertising Research recently devoted an entire issue to studies of “Emotion in Advertising.” Suddenly, it seems...

Employee Engagement

...Engaged Employees = More Profits What does it mean to be engaged at work? Employee engagement is not as simple as it sounds. Many believe that employee engagement simply means having happy employees. However it is a much more complex issue than just happy employees. As Kevin Kruse points out in his article about employee engagement, “Someone might be happy at work, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are working hard, productively on behalf of the organization.” (Kruse) Employee engagement is a hot word in the business world that has recently become very important in nearly every organization. Kruse notes that employee engagement is defined as “the emotional commitment an employee has to the organization and its goals.” (Kruse) An employee can be happy at work but if they are not fully engaged they then lack the commitment to go the extra mile to help the organization succeed. A fully engaged employee is more likely to put in extra hours and or overtime to help the organization achieve its goals. An engaged employee usually believes in the goals of the organization and will try their best to make sure that they organization achieves their goals. A disengaged employee can bring down employee morale within the entire organization, as well as negatively affect the organizations profits and reputation. There are a few examples of disengaged employees and how they affect they organization in a negative way. The first example is the employee that is happy at work but still...

A Divided Government

...Richards Government 2305 On-line A Government Divided A Government Divided             Based on the U.S. National Debt each American citizen contributed debt is $47,724.00. This does not mean that we are accruing debt our self this is a representative number of how much debt is comparison to all the American citizens (US Debt, 2011). According to the U.S. Social Security Office the average income for an American citizen is $41,673.83 (Social Security Administration, 2011). Although these statistics are loosely based the average is a sample. One could argue it is not accurate to the current economic standings although the debt values are. This explains why currently the approval rating for Congress is below 20% according to the new Gallup polls (Gallup, 2011). The Washington Post posted an article called, Poll: Voters say throw out entire Congress, where the writer explains that Americans are displeased by Congress and a high percentage wish they were all removed (The Washington Post, 2011). All of these statistics are pretty predictable considering the 112th Congress is filled with uncompromising members who value the census of their constituents over the importance of making good Public Policy. In addition, the loyalty is no longer focused on making good “Public Policy,” it lies with member’s political party. As a result members are unwilling to work together which leaves bills on hold and a lack of oversight.                        Presently, we are faced with a divided government...

Final Project

...As a financial manager three major decisions are to be made which are investment, financing, and dividend decisions (Pujari, S 2015). When decisions are made in investments financial managers carefully select fixed assets also known as capital budgeting decision or current assets in which funds will be invested by the company (Pujari, S 2015). There are factors that affect the investment and capital budgeting decisions such as cash flow of the project, return on investments, risks involved, and investment criteria. For the cash flow of the project the company invests a huge amount of funds in an investment proposal it is expected to sustain a regular amount of cash flow to meet the daily requirements (Pujari, S 2015).  The amount of cash flow generated must be assessed before the company invests in a proposal. The returned investment is the most important criteria in deciding the rate of return for the investment proposal. Every investment proposal has some type of risk involved, financial managers need to calculate the risks involved and consider the proposal that has the least amount of risks (Pujari, S 2015). In investment criteria financial managers need to compare all the alternatives to help the company to decide the best proposal to invest in. Investment decisions are important they are long term decisions and are irreversible, it involves in huge amount of funds, it affects the future earning capacity of the company (Pujari, S 2015). The second important decision that...

Bernie Sanders Participation In The Civil Rights Movement

...According to media sources, the current political climate is intense. Many Americans are angry, “dissatisfied with the state of the country, and 64.7% believe that the country is on the wrong track.” In fact, Congress is only getting a few positive nods—about 16% to be exact—from the citizens it serves, because 61% of all voters believe that “most representatives are selling their votes.” (Gallup, 2015) In general, people in the U.S believe the wealthy and special interest groups can easily buy congressional support. The distrust of the government plays a huge part in Americans’ skepticism and panic; in search for a new president, they’re looking for someone to subside their unrest.
