...To String A Guitar To String A Guitar The method of putting a new string on a guitar may seem like an easy process, and in fact, it is. Before I begin to enlighten you on the art of strapping on a new string, there are some things you should know about your guitar. I have provided a map of the anatomy of an acoustic guitar with the appropriate terminology. Any time that I use a term associated with the diagram, I will italicize it. Example: The nut of the guitar. There are six strings on this guitar and I will walk you through the installation of the low E string which, in the above diagram, is the furthest to the left. The only items that you will need are a wire cutter, a guitar tuner, and of course, the low E string. This example will also assume that there is not currently a low E string on your guitar. To begin, you want to make sure that you have a good grasp on your guitar so that it remains stable and motion free while at the same time allowing the use of both of your hands. When you are ready, you can direct your attention to the bridge of the guitar where you will find the bridge pins. At this point, remove the bridge pin that is associated with the low E string. (The one furthest to the left on the diagram) Now focus your attention to the low E string that you have and if it is still coiled, you may uncoil it. Lind 2 This world of my guitar has no limitations. It involves the use of sound and thought simultaneously in a place where creativity and intelligence thrive and anything can happen. I get to pick and choose what happens. I have complete control over the mood, the setting, and for the most part the results. It influences the attitude of the atmosphere. It can send out mixed and matched messages to the listener. The place I am describing isn’t actually a place. My instrument and I rule this zone of focus. I call this metal state guitar land. This place is more of an imaginary fairy tale dream, reminding me of times when I used to watch Disney movies as a kid. I feel nothing is wrong here and I’m doing everything right. I know I have entered guitar land when I’m so distracted that time goes out the window. Now my plucking fingers are fired up. These people are everywhere one looks, in commercials, on televisions, in glossy magazines, and in video games. Take for example, the popular video game Guitar Hero. Players manipulate a play guitar along with animated characters with the end result of being famous and thus a hero. Children and adults love the particular game. Children see their sports or media heroes enjoying fame and fortune, big mansions and fancy cars. Heroes, in my opinion, are not in the limelight, but have the positive attributes of taking responsibility for their actions, keeping their commitments, protecting others, being kind and caring, and giving to others when there is a need. Because we are confused with whom our real heroes are, this has hurt our society greatly and we have become idol worshipers. The audio will give the user a rough estimate of how the chord sounds. Also, an important feature of this project is that once the user plays the chord it must verify the correctness and tell the user if he has played the chord correctly or not. The software will record the sound from the acoustic guitar using the pick-up of an acoustic guitar and stores it in a file. It compares this file with a pre-recorded file of that chord from the database. It will show a graph to the user depicting how close he is to the correct method.
