The study explores the perceptions of Chinese students in a more naturalistic way through conversations with them in their own language. It focuses on the cultural challenges faced by these Chinese students and provides some insider’s knowledge about the underlying causes for these challenges and their coping strategies in the process of adjusting to living and learning in Australian culture. This paper, as part of the study, will particularly focus on the challenges involved in the homestay situation, the results of which indicated that the secondary school Chinese students at homestays were confronted with four broad categories of challenges: difficulties with food, English language, household chores and relationships with homestay hosts. The findings also uncovered the detailed basis of each of the students’ difficulties, providing some specific cultural information for educational practitioners to better understand secondary Chinese students in Australia. As pointed out in the Ninth Malaysia Plan (2006-2010), a magnification in tourism is optically discerned to have a positive relationship to the expansion of other sub-sectors, especially the homestay industry as well as in others that carry ecotourism related products and accommodations (Intan,Hazlina,et al,2010). Growth in tourism makes a positively impact towards homestay industry for the past few years. ...INTRODUCTION Selangor is one of the 13 states in Malaysia. It is on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia and is bordered by Perak to the north, Pahang to the east, Negeri Sembilan to the south and the Strait of Malacca to the west. It completely surrounds the federal territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. The origin of the name Selangor is lost in history, although some source claim the name to have come from the Malay word selangau, which gives the meaning of a large fly, most probably due to the abundance of flies in the marshes along the Selangor River in the state’s northwest. Another more plausible theory claims the state’s name was derived from the term Selang Ur meaning “land of the straits” (ur means “land” in Tamil, selang means “straits” in the Malay language). Selangor is also known by its Arabic honorific, Darul Ehsan (“Abode of Sincerity”). Selangor is hailed as the gateway to Malaysia, given its strategic location to all major travel routes. It is home to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), the country’s main entry point and Port Klang, the largest port in Malaysia. There is an extensive network of highways and expressways in the state, making all parts of Selangor easily accessible. The location of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital city and Putrajaya, the new federal administrative centre within the bounds of the state further enhances the touristic appeal of Selangor. The magnificent Kota Darul Ehsan Arch along the Federal Highway welcomes visitors...

...Do you agree for disagree with the following statement? Student should not go abroad for study. Use specific reasons and details to support your opinion. The issue about whether student should go abroad for study or not is a debatable one. Some students think that study abroad brings many benefits, while others are of the opinion that they should finish university education in their motherland. For several reasons, which I will list bellow, I disagree with those people who think that student should not go to study in a foreign country. Firstly, the main reason why students prefer foreign countries for study would be: they always seek some changes regards to their education. If it is foreign countries, they can learn different languages and cultures while it is difficult if they constantly stay at one place. This aspect helps them to gain experiences as well as knowledge. For instance, in many overseas countries, once students complete their degree or course, those countries will offer a wide variety of opportunities to get into a prestigious company. Furthermore, independent lifestyle is a big and significant part in one person's life. Many people in other countries want to run their life on their own. They aspire for an independent life and eventually this would develop their self-esteem and confidence level. In addition to this, students can make new friends there and consequently they will be well-developed in the language skills. Sometimes students might be suffering from...

...one day, we saw wild elephants, lions, buffalo, hippopotami and a lot more. One of the locations we stayed at was in a wildlife reserve and multiple times we had elephants cruising through our campground. It was startling, especially at night, but definitely an adventure. The biggest part of the trip was the homestay with the Maasai. The Maasai are pastoralists that live in huts constructed out of cow manure, mud and sticks. They make their income by herding ten hours a day in a savanna, with no water, and maybe masala chai for breakfast. My friend and I were only there for a few days, but it was an experience I will never forget. The biggest take away from the entire trip was that they endure adversity every single day, and they are never down about it. I had an opportunity to herd with them for the day, and the no water got to me at six hours. I underestimated how powerful the equatorial sun was, and over the generations their bodies have learned to adapt to the constant heat. The nights were equally enduring, my homestead had a bedbug infestation and we were bitten hundreds of times. The experience overall was grounding, but if I had to opportunity to visit my homestay mom again I would. After living with the Maasai, I transitioned to a tiny Muslim island called Zanzibar. It was my first experience with a majority Muslim population and I was there during Ramadan. Zanzibar is more developed and a few of us lived in an apartment while we interned at University of Dar es Salaam...

...1 Practical Application – Project Management (Study Tours Program) 1.1 Introduction Currently our institute has been granted government funding to run programs for students in mainstream courses, however under the new funding scheme being introduced from 2014 we are required to offer more courses funded from commercial revenue to sustain our business. There are several courses that can be offer commercially such as training for organisations, offshore delivery programs and Study Tours/Study Abroad programs. I would like to discuss Study Abroad programs on this paper. There are 4 phases to arrange and complete Study Abroad programs – initiation, development, implementation (students are studying at the college) and graduation (evaluation). I would like to talk about initiation and implementation phases. 1.2.1 Initiation: Inquiries from clients are received (input). Information of our Study Abroad program can be found on our website therefore inquiries could come from agents or directly from institutes. Once the inquiry is received, program request form is sent out to the client (output). The program will be customised based on the client requests. Once the completed form is received, the information (input) of subject choices, timing, duration, and number of students is forwarded to appropriate Faculties to discuss and draft the program. Faculties determine the hours of teaching and other necessary items to deliver the program (output). The detail of items (input)...
