Abstract
This assignment is about how to plan a social event. In this paper I will describe how to plan a social event properly. I will explain the most important things to consider when planning and how the event could turn out if these steps aren’t followed.

Three things to consider when planning Planning a social event can be challenging and rewarding. It takes many different steps to make sure everything is in place and will work out as intended. From parties, ceremonies, weddings, etc. planning is the most important key. There are many different details to consider; however there are three I believe are most important. When planning a social event it is imperative to have a guest list, place to host the event, and choosing activities that will take place. Step 1: Guest list The first step in planning a social event is the guest list. The reason this is so important is because the planner needs to know how many people to accommodate. The guest list is the foundation for the rest of the steps in planning. The planner has to know how big of a place they will need to have the event, how much food to provide, how many chairs to have and the list goes on and on. There should be a rough draft list made, a final guest list, and the guests should have to RSVP so that the planner knows exactly what direction they are going with the event. Without a guest list the event could be disastrous.
Second Step: Location, Location, Location! The second step in planning a social event is the picking the right location. This is important for many reasons. For example, if hosting a wedding the planner should check to see what season the wedding will be held because weather could affect an outdoor location. Size is important because there needs to enough space to accommodate guests comfortably. There’s nothing worse than having an overcrowded event where people can’t enjoy themselves. Guests always remember the bad things first, and this will definitely be discussed and frowned upon by guests!
Third Step: Activities/Food The third step in planning a social event is choosing activities that will take place and the right amount of food. This is important because you don’t want to bore the guests or have an unorganized event. The planner should make an itinerary for how the entire event will go and schedule a time for each activity. For example, if planning a baby shower the planner should set a time limit for games, choose the time the guests will eat, what time the gifts will be opened etc. The planner needs to make sure they have enough food to make sure each guests has at least a serving. Having over the amount needed is the smartest option because more is always better. Without a step-by-step list of how the event will happen and the right amount of food could lead to awful event. Get the job done! In conclusion planning a social event is not the easiest job, but if done correctly if can be entertaining and rewarding. Choosing the right place, the activities and food, and making a guest list will all contribute to a successful event. Failing to complete these step could lead to a horrible and embarrassing event.

They have noticed a possible opportunity in this area for people like them at university that Facebook and other SNS have not addressed directly. They particularly liked the idea of only targeting tertiary students in order to attract singles looking for a more defined friendship and dating network. They were also attracted to a mobile application for smart phones that could be used to set up events and activities on the go. In addition to allowing subscribers to connect and meet new people with common interests, the service (application) would help coordinate and plan group and personal events. ...was part of the internal team that delivered the company’s crisis communication plan through Twitter and YouTube. What makes this story so compelling is the social media aspect of both the crisis itself and the strategy for managing the crisis. The interesting challenge was Domino’s decision to integrate the same medium that sparked the crisis into the strategies to manage the situation, and the efficacy of best practices and principles of crisis management in the age of social media. Overview and Background The way in which companies communicate with stakeholders during a crisis event is rapidly changing with the 24-hour access provided by the Internet, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Public relations practitioners and other communication executives are struggling to craft messages and maintain control of the flow of messages within this dynamic landscape. As Schiller explains, in “times of crisis, while corporate communication executives are preparing manicured statements, customers are [simultaneously] blogging, e-mailing and posting photos out of rage and desperation because the very people who should be listening to them aren’t” .. Bell asserts that stakeholders become “interpretive communities in organizational crisis contexts,” capable of cultivating an organization’s reputation through information they receive in cyberspace..
