Is that it? Certainly not. In the world of digital photography, you can use a wide variety of techniques to “bring out” the best picture possible from the shot you’ve taken. You might be wondering, “How is that possible?” Well, in order to explain that, we should provide some background on how cameras differ from our own brains. The human brain can process more color range at any given instant than a computer monitor or a digital print can display. Our eyes don’t actually see more range than film or digital sensors; rather, our brain instructs our eyes to composite different areas of the image into a single whole. The brain does this “multiple-exposure” blending so quickly that we think we are looking at only one image. The camera, on the other hand, doesn’t have our brain inside. It records only one instant in time, which is why we are often so disappointed when we look at a base picture. (“That’s not how I remember the color and the details!”) And it gets worse: cameras are notorious for losing all the little details in the highlights and shadows of a shot. Thankfully, we can use the camera and the computer to minimize these deficiencies, and bring out a wider range of brightness and...

...Lights! Camera! Photoshop? Photoshop has been a major detail when making magazines, newspapers, etc. But is it really good for the celebrities ego when they use it and is it making them look good or a bit worse? In my opinion photoshop shouldn’t be used for these purposes, because it makes them look fake and it’s overly abused as it is . Celebrities shouldn’t let computers and stingy agents decide how they look. They should try doing it by themselves, but it’s at anyone’s free will, as long as it isn’t taken too far. Photoshopping someone with three heads is too far! On the other hand, it can help boost a rising star to the higher ranks of being famous. But when it comes to everyday things like newspapers, magazines and websites it is easily noticed and could make them look worse than what they started with....

Adobe is most famous for its program Photoshop, which helps it to drive industries in three major business segments: “Digital Media, Digital Marketing, and Print & Publishing” (Forbes, 2015). In the following paper, I will focus on the core Adobe programs for the print and publishing industry, which include Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign. Photoshop. Business and investing author and scholar, Peter F. Drucker said, “If you want something new, you have to stop doing something old” (Shore, 2014). In 1987, Thomas Knoll was an engineering PhD student the University of Michigan and wanted to process his photographs on his newly purchased Apple Macintosh Plus to help him with his PhD work. Unfortunately, his Mac computer was unable to translate his images into a grey-scale display, and so, needing something new, Knoll went to work on making something new. As a software engineer, Knoll wrote a program he called Display to properly render his images on the screen. With his brother Thomas’s help and encouragement, Display turned into a program called ImagePro, which had the ability to manipulate digital images similarly to how a photographer would manipulate prints in a darkroom (dodge and burn, contrast, hue, etc). Within a year, the brothers packaged their software program and licensed it to Adobe in 1988, and in 1990...

...Team work is an inevitable life experience. Working as a team helps you to develop lot of skills. We shared our thought and ideas and gained knowledge. There were lot of discussion and at last we made a draft poster on how it should look. We also developed our skills in certain software. At the beginning we tried to make our poster in PowerPoint as it would be easier for us. Later as we go further we realized that the whole poster cannot be made from PowerPoint. So we all discussed together and came to a conclusion to go with Microsoft Publisher. As we don’t know anything about publisher we watched lot of tutorial in you tube about how to make a poster in Publisher. We also watched many videos about how a poster should be designed and presented. After watching all those videos we came to a conclusion to go with Publisher. At the beginning we practised what we saw in videos and did as it is said in video. As time passes we gained confidence and learnt lot of things in Publisher. We learnt about all the tools and practised each and every tool how it works. Later after gaining knowledge about Publisher we started to design our poster. At first we tried to make a good background for the poster and no one was satisfied with the background what came up with the publisher. We then tried to make a background which was designed by the Toshiba. Even then we faced a difficulty in making that as background. We got a background were we had Toshiba logo in the centre and bigger arrows on each...

...Line Art Tutorial Recommended for Intermediate Level Photoshop Users First up I’d like to ease your mind and let you know that you don’t need to know how to draw to complete this tutorial. It’s basically tracing, except that tracing is alot easier in Adobe Photoshop. Creating line art with this technique will take several hours to do a good job…if you want a tutorial that just applies a couple of filters, then this tutorial is not for you! You will need to know how to use the PEN TOOL for this tutorial. (If you don’t know how to use the pen tool complete the fast tutorial found HERE first). I suggest you read through the entire tutorial first, before you begin. 1. Preparing the Layers Open your photo in Photoshop. Rename the layer “original”. If your picture is quite dark you will need to lighten it a little. The reason for this is that we will be tracing over the photo in black so we need to be able to see the lines we are creating clearly. Adjust the Brighness of the photo Image >> Adjustments >> Brightness/Contrast… Duplicate the “original” layer. Rename this new layer “top”. Create two more new layers. Place them under the “top” layer. Fill the layer closest to the “original” layer white and rename it “background”. Leave the other layer transparent and rename it “line art” Turn the visibility OFF for the “background” and “top” layers.< Visibility ON for the “line art” and “original” layers and the “line art” layer is active. ...the glistening silver button on my camera thinking, “Is this how I want this moment to be remembered?” Through the eyes of many, a camera is just a tool that you point at an object to take a picture; to a photographer, it is so much more. According to Dictionary.com, the definition of photography is, “The process of producing images on a sensitized surface by the action of light.” However, there is one point that this simple definition fails to state, and that is photography is used to capture a single moment in time, in one frame. A single picture can tell a multitude of stories, and can hold countless memories. Whether done as a profession, a hobby, or a creative outlet, the art of photography can appeal to everyone in the world. Known as a “camera obscura,” the first elements of photography were shown in 384 BC when Mo-Ti, a Chinese philosopher, created the device (Camera Obscura History). The physics behind his invention was that when a lighted area was separated from a dark area with only a pinhole opening between them, it created an inverted image of the lighted area. This technology was further improved by inserting a lens to create a clearer picture (History of Photography). Since then, the art of photography has continued to evolve. Many photographers still rely on natural lighting in their pictures, however today photographers choose to use digital photo editing with programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Light Room. These great advances in technology and the...
