...How to become a Writer Whole books have been written on how to become a good writer, from the building block of constructing a good sentence to selling out novels to put them on the bestsellers. Writing is an artful way of communicating human experience. Paul Graham once said “Writing doesn’t communicate ideas; it generates them. If you are bad at writing and don’t like it, you will miss out on the ideas writing would have generated. Writing is an art which communicates what an individual wants to say in a descriptive form, a good writer would leave his/her readers spellbound through their writing. Usually writers are categorized into two categories, those who want to say something and those who write for sake of writing. In both cases if you aspire to be a writer, you are already in camp two, the idea of writing is camp one to start with. Writing is just like any other discipline in that you won’t get better at it just by thinking about it. The more you write, the better you get at the art of writing and that’s is what makes you a good and effective writer, but for amateurs there are a few guidelines to start with. Figure out what you want to write This is the most important and basic step in writing. Writing is a vast field that encompasses different genres, a good point to start would be writing about something you are familiar with and in most cases best writing usually stem forth from something you already have knowledge and passion about. When you translate your passion...

...Content Writer Interview Questions and Tips Planning to take up a fulfilling job as online content writer or taking up writing as a career? Well as with all creative pursuits’ content writing also demands a fair bit of creativity apart from consistent quality. But when you have both, writing can be a fulfilling calling indeed. This small content/copy writing interview guide lists the interview questions common to all jobs apart from focusing on the questions more likely to be asked in any interview for a content or Web copy writer. While I was planning to write a small content writing interview guide for a long time what finally made me put my fingers to the keyboard was the truly vast experience gained after giving 11 interviews in 14 days! Persistence does pay at the end of the day. The Getup: As content writing is a relatively informal job, even an informal getup with a semi-formal shirt should do fine. No need for any tie or suit. Punctuality: This is a must irrespective of the job you apply for. Make sure you reach the venue at least 15-20 minutes before the appointed time and put your documents or reference of past work in order and do remember to have an attractive resume in hand. 1) Tell me something about yourself. This is the most common interview question which will almost certainly be asked to any candidate. While it seems a pretty straightforward question many find it the toughest as it’s quite open ended and people fumble when required to speak...

How To Write An Essay On Outliers By Malcolm Gladwell

...This may have been the earliest reason to why Gladwell wrote Outliers. Since he couldn’t continue to graduate school, Gladwell must have wondered about where he had gone wrong and why he couldn’t continue his education. He may have asked himself about his classmates, and how they were able to be successful in moving on to graduate school when he couldn’t. Another question he may have thought about was: why were some people so smart while others weren’t? Gladwell must have wondered whether or not he would be successful with just a bachelor’s degree in history. This whole incident must have started Gladwell’s train of thought. Soon after his graduation, all of Gladwell’s job applications to advertising agencies were rejected. This factor contributes to the making of Outliers, like Gladwell’s inability to continue on to graduate school. Just like before, this incident must have gotten Gladwell to think about the reason behind people’s successes. He may have thought about why he couldn’t get the job while others could. Gladwell must have thought of many questions such as: what was missing in him that was present...

Have employees write job duties.  5. Review materials and reduce to minimum requirements.  6. Have employees evaluate the list.  7. Revise and submit for final approval.  Step One: Review the Company’s Documents The first step of a job analysis is to review all of the company’s documentation on the job you want to write a new job description for. This includes the prior job description (if available), newspaper advertisements related to the job in question, recruiting brochures, and evaluation forms. These documents will give you a base to work from in generating a new job description.  Step Two: Research Other Job Description Resources The next step is to review other companies’ descriptions of similar jobs. You may even want to check out a book containing job descriptions in order to locate standard duties for specific positions like secretary, executive assistant, accountant, clerk, etc. Use these resources to get a few ideas on how to word your job description, and how to generate a list of minimum qualifications.  Step Three: Interview the Staff Currently Involved With the Position After you have a list of duties that are normally associated with the job in question, the next step is to interview the employee, or employees, who is or are currently occupying the position. Biography

...Steven P. Jobs, Pixar, and Disney: how would Apple be affected? Monday, January 23, 2006 · 3:14 am · 24 Comments “The calculus of the Walt Disney Company buying Pixar Animation Studios is, on its face, simple: big media conglomerate plus vaunted computer animation studio plus closer ties with Steven P. Jobs, the maverick Pixar founder, equals potential powerhouse,” Richard Siklos writes for The New York Times. “But because Mr. Jobs’s other job is chairman and chief executive of Apple Computer, a deal also raises the possibility of a warmer relationship between Disney and Apple if Mr. Jobs plays an active role at the company.” “Although there would be no direct equity relationship between Apple and Disney, Mr. Jobs would be the largest individual shareholder in both, and would be likely to hold at least a board seat at Disney,” Siklos writes. “In the complex and sometimes querulous dynamic between media and technology companies, such a move would no doubt raise questions about the ripples those ties can be expected to cause.” Siklos writes, “For example, would Mr. Jobs view Disney as the preferred content supplier for future generations of Apple iPods and other hardware that distribute and play media products like songs and TV shows? And would Disney’s media rivals be less inclined to do business with Apple as it introduced new services because they would be abetting a competitor? Similarly, will technology companies vying with Apple to develop new products for...

Business English means different things to different people. For some, it focuses on vocabulary and topics used in the worlds of business, trade, finance, and international relations. For others it refers to the communication skills used in the workplace, and focuses on the language and skills needed for typical business communication such as presentations, negotiations, meetings, small talk, socializing, correspondence, report writing, and a systematic approach. In both of these cases it can be taught to native speakers of English, for example, high school students preparing to enter the job market. Business English is a variant of international English. One can study it at a college or university. Institutes around the world have courses or modules in BE available, which can lead to a degree in...
