HRM Task 1
1. Describe 5 activities that the new department could take on. * As a new part of a building has been built recently, an additional area will need to be taken into consideration while planning new patrol routes.
The department could take on the company Staffing. The department would then deal with obtaining people with appropriate skills, abilities, knowledge and experience to suit the needs of the company. With competently picked team, future Staffing could become the strong side of the company, which as a result, would prove to be a great investment for the company, as the general performance of the company could be achieved.

Another activity that could get dealt with in the new department could be Recruitment. As it is closely linked with Staffing it could prove beneficial for the company to have this included in the new responsibilities of the department. Less staff would have to get trained but a better quality training would be preferred to be provided to the employees. This would prove beneficial, as less time would be needed to deal with issues in between other departments.

Another activity could be Selection which would involve ascertaining the qualifications, experiences, skills of an applicant with a view to appraising her/him suitability to the job appraising. This would also provide the company and the customers with a better working experience as better staff (more qualified in the areas of communication skills, customer skills etc.) would be employed. Placement of the new employees could be another activity given to the department to work on. As the recruiting staff would be well informed of what each candidate is like as well as having a better perception on the general candidate profile, which would be provided by the previous stages of recruitment that would be already a part of the
