Hunting has been around since before anyone could remember. People hunt for three main reasons. Therapeutic hunting is to kill wild animals to conserve a species or an entire species. Next is subsistence hunting which is to intentionally kill wild animals for materials and sources of food. Last kind of hunting is sport hunting. “Sport hunting is for a hunter who stalks deer because he enjoys the experience and wants decorative antlers may also intend to consume the meat, make pants from the hide and help control local deer populations.(“Is Hunting Moral?) Some may think that hunting is unexceptable but hunting is moral because it controls the animal populations and is a way to enjoy the outdoors.
Not everyone thinks that hunting is right. Some

Hunting Persuasive Research Paper

...Since the beginning of man, we have hunted. We hunted for food and for supplies. More and more recently, though, people have been saying that hunting should be stopped. Today, fewer and fewer people hunt. People should hunt because it prevents overpopulation, stops environment destruction, and it supplies food for people. Hunting prevents overpopulation. When too many animals live in the same habitat, the habitat can’t produce enough food for all of the animals. Animals starve and are forced to move to other locations, like cities or towns. “When areas of nature become too over populated with certain animals, like deer, the animals suffer from starvation” (Navajo Code Talkers). Also, when animals are overpopulated in an area, diseases can...

Animal Hunting Research Paper

...Hunting is a major sport around the world in many different cultures and countries. When hunting first came about it was to feed your family. Then when railroads started to develop “hunters” were killing bison and other animals because they were in the way of the train. When the train would go down the track and bison were in the way the train would stop and “hunter” would jump out and just unload their guns on the animals. That is not hunting; hunters today are trained to kill animals ethically and are conservationists who assist in managing the population of wildlife to prevent overpopulation; they keep the deer population manageable and they provide food for the hunter. One role of a hunter is to limit the amount of animals in one habitat....

Hunting Trip Research Paper

...Have you ever wanted to go on a hunting trip? My sister and I have gotten to have this experience! Our dad came with us because we didn't know how to drive and we were too young to hunt for our self. One of my brothers came too! He came to help us unpack and cook for us. We sometimes called him our "Sherpa." We had lots of fun! Last October, my 11-year-old sister and I got drawn for cow elk tags. We both had to get our hunter safety tags so we could go. We also went to the range a few times to practice aiming. After a little practice, we could hit the bull's eye. When we went hunting, in the morning we had to get up at least by 4 AM when it was still very dark outside. We had to get up at this time so we would get to certain fields before the elk came. I got really tired and slept in the afternoon. Because it was so cold, I had to make sure to dress in layers. When we were on our way...

Deer Hunting Research Paper

...Hunting is here to stay whether you are for or against it. So why not produce extra animals, such as deer, to keep the populations up? Doris Lin wrote an article called “Hunting isn’t the Answer to Animal ‘Pests.” When, in fact, it’s not the entire answer but it is part of the solution. She states that if we just build more fences and stop planting foliage that the deer and bear like, that the animals will stop being “pests.” This is NOT the solution. She also makes the point that we are over producing these animals just so that people can go on with their normal hunting habits. Only her view of it all is that it’s wrong. In my opinion the fact that we are producing more animals is a very smart thing to do. Even though there are many...

Pheasant Hunting Research Paper

...If you are one of those hunters that enjoy upland game, you certainly love pheasant hunting. Indeed, hunting pheasants is a real challenge, but courtesy of some tips provided by the following article, you will be able to outwit this clever little bird. If you plan on hunting during the early season, you should know that pheasants sit tighter, which will allow you (and your hunting dog) to approach its resting area. Illegal Hunting Research Paper

...1887: Bird hunters ravage our wildlands pilfering as many birds as wanted. Hatmakers offered a sizable (for the time) fee for birds that offered beautiful feathers for the stylish hats of the era. In the woods, “pot hunters” scoured the land-poaching animals for the food industry (Luppino-Esposito, 2012). Observing these shocking trends, Iowan-congressman John Lacey formulated a solution to reduce illegal hunting and fishing--the Lacey Act. In April 30, 1900, John Lacey stated, “[t]he protection of our native birds...ought to be dear to the heart of every American” (Luppino-Esposito, 2012). The main mission of the Lacey Act was to prevent hunters from illegally killing wildlife and then crossing a state border to escape any legal charges (Alexander,...

Duck Hunting Research Paper

...Wood duck, mallard, redhead, pintail, gadwall, or teal, it does not matter; I enjoy hunting all of them. Duck hunting is a recreational sport that I truly look forward to each fall and winter. In my opinion, there are two seasons. Duck season and getting ready for duck season. One of them is too short and the other is much too long. Duck hunting demands a considerable amount of a person’s time and money, but the success of calling in and harvesting that perfect duck to mount or killing a banded duck makes it all worthwhile. The first step in preparing for a successful hunt is finding a good place. Ducks live in rivers, swamps, sloughs, and lakes. Flooded fields with crops are good hunting grounds, also. The ducks feed on grains such as rice and corn that are in the field after the harvest. So, at the end of each duck season, I begin looking for a different place to hunt for the upcoming season, because I like to hunt in new places. If I hunted a flooded field this year then I try to find a good a lake, river, or slough for the upcoming year. I find myself continuously scanning Craigslist, searching the internet, going to blind drawings, and connecting with other hunters until I find that perfect spot. Last year a few of my hunting friends and I leased a duck blind in Stuttgart, Arkansas. It was a dream come true. After finding the...
