Discuss whether the functional managers risk a loss of employee loyalty with the new change. Hyten Corporation was management to examine the idea of changing the organization structure from informal project management to formal project management. Many changes will have to be made when Hyten Corporation introduces formal project management for it to be beneficial.

The main issue that would affect employee loyalty would be their appraisal or evaluation as this will be very crucial to the happiness of the employees and the success of projects. Employees must feel they are being given a square deal, especially in the evaluation procedure. This is where the role of the functional managers would collide with that of the project managers. In the formal project management model project managers would also be key players in the evaluation process. In fact in the formal project management structure, project managers would be responsible for accomplishing the stated project objectives. A functional manager is a person who has management authority over an organizational unit such as a department - within a business, company, or other organization. Functional managers have ongoing responsibilities, and are not usually directly affiliated with project teams, other than ensuring that goals and objectives are aligned with the organization's overall strategy and vision. Who will do the evaluation? If any given organization does not adequately define roles and ensure harmony, it will result in territorial struggles and other foolishness. For instance, both managers may feel it’s their role to give a performance evaluation and fight with each other. Approval for various things like replacement equipment, forms, etc. may become contentious. This question decides where the bias of the employee would be. This study aims to assess the extent, if any, to which, specific HR practices may contribute to firm growth. We review a rich literature on the links between firm performance and the following HR practices: (1) job security (2) selective hiring, (3) self-managed teams (4) compensation policy, (5) extensive training, and (6) information sharing. We surveyed HR managers and recorded their perceptions about the links between HR practices and firm growth. Results demonstrated that compensation policy was the strongest predictor of sales growth. Results provide overall support for all HR practices except of job security. Eventually, selecting, training, and rewarding employees as well as giving them the power to decide for the benefit of their firm, contribute significantly to firm growth. ...Abstract Resistance to organisational change is seen as one of the impediments to organisational expansion and growth due to its negative repercussions. This study therefore sought to investigate the factors that influence resistance to or- ganisational change at Oti-Yeboah Complex Limited. De- scriptive survey design was adopted to collect information using stratified sampling and self-administered question- naires. Descriptive statistics, bi-variate correlation, regres- sion analysis and t-test were used to analyse the data. The results indicated that less employee participation in deci- sion making and lack of trust in management contributed highly to resistance at Oti-Yeboah Complex Limited. In addition, factors such as lack of motivation, poor chan- nels of communication, and information exchange also contributed to resistance. The study suggests that manage- ment should encourage employee participation in decision making, build confidence, accept constructive criticism, be transparent and communicate clearly the need for change to employees.
