...[pic] PROPOSAL TO ESTABLISH ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT IMPLEMENTATION TEAM (EMIT) UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII AT HILO Background: Over the past decade, the University of Hawaii at Hilo has consistently increased its enrollment by nearly 40% from 2,587 in Fall 1997 to 3,608 in Fall 2007. UH Hilo intends to become a comprehensive University with a target enrollment of 5,000. The University has struggled to maintain a level of infrastructure – including human resources support, facility expansion, and budget augmentation – to keep pace with this rate of growth. Also, there is a lack of consensus among major campus constituencies about the value of this growth in student enrollment as well the manner in which that growth should take place. Further, in its report from a March 2008 Special Visit Review, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) team recommended among other things that “the campus create an Enrollment Committee composed of appropriate faculty, staff, students, and administration to develop a growth plan for the campus. The campus team should work with the system to clarify the value of recruiting students from outside the state of Hawai`i.” Justification: Strategic enrollment management (SEM) is • “A comprehensive process designed to help an institution achieve and maintain the optimum recruitment, retention, and graduation rates of students where ‘optimum’ is defined within the academic context of the institution. As such, SEM is an institution-wide...

...Enrollment and Grading System Chapter I Introduction The system design project, Enrollment System that will provide the needed and storing information in a faster, more convenient way by storing file of the student enrollees in a computer system that will lessen the effort of faculty staff in storing files of each student every now and then. This will also serve as information especially for the irregular students, freshmen, transferee, and professor in able to get access in course, subject, professor, and student enrollees. This information here can be viewed in just a second without worrying that a single file is lost. The idea behind an enrollment system is not a new concept. As student enrollees increase every year, enrollment procedure become harder to deal. This will only serve to increase the problem facing enrollment that provides more easy way in enrolling. This will also be a big help to all the enrollment staff especially under the computer department because they are the one who are entitled to touch and read the information from here. It will help our institution to have another system that will upgrade the enrollment processes so as to meet the quality that our institutions are trying to meet. Grading System is designed to provide incentive reward for achievement and assist in identifying problems of the student. Grading System is the most commonly used in computing and analyzing the performance, talent and skills of students. It is the...

...Daagye Hendricks OM 516 The Goal 1. Summarize the book The Goal is a story about overcoming manufacturing problems as told through the eyes of a plant manager (Alex Rojo). In this story, Bill Peach (division vice-president), followed the status of a specific order number. He discovered not only was the order incomplete, but also seven weeks late and unassembled. Peach was not pleased and informed Mr. Roho that he only has 3 months to improve plant performance before it has to close its doors. Mr. Peach’s visit disrupts employee morale, causes skilled machinists to quit, and machines left inoperable with no one to service them. Peach gave Alex an ultimatum. He insists on change immediately. Alex’s team worked overtime, and the order was shipped off. When analyzing current plant practices, Alex contemplates why the plant is underperforming when it has the right people, technology, and overall a good facility. Although he cut costs as much as possible but his prices are still above the competition. Although materials are being released on time, orders are still incomplete and not shipped in a timely manner. Alex feels he has the right people, technology, processes, price and production capacity to strive in the industry…but cannot identify the problem. After reflecting on a discussion he had with a friend (Jonah a scientist), Alex realized that productivity is an action that brings a company closer to its goal. Jonah asks Alex a series of questions, without providing...

...University-Global Campus Dr. Linda Klonsky March 4, 2012 2 Portfolio Assignment - Week 8 Introduction The concept of enrollment management emerged in the 1970s and has developed into a strategic way of recruiting, retaining and graduating students. Rather than taking a “shotgun” approach with “get as many as you can” results, enrollment management strives to proactively plan for long-term enrollment and retention. It is a data-informed process that aligns an institutions’s fiscal and academic resources within its ever-changing environment to accomplish the institution’s mission and ensure long-term enrollment success and fiscal health. “‘Numbers,’ say the finance staff, ‘Quality,’ cry the faculty. And the admissions officers find themselves trying to do their job faced with variables over which they have no control.” (Swann, Henderson & AACRAO, p.71). Data must be the key. Says Kurz (2003, p. 39), “Without data, it is easy to try to do too much in too many places, resulting in a diluted effort that produces little by way of significant results”. An enrollment management structure consistently includes the core offices of admissions, registration and financial aid but in some situations, it may also include retention, orientation, counseling, first year experience and other offices that directly relate to student success. The combination of these offices under the umbrella of enrollment management allows nonacademic offices to work together to present strategies and tactics that will shape...

...BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY AND ITS SETTINGS 1.1. Introduction Computerization is a control system that manages processes in industrialworkplace. It reduced human errors and processing time, thus it can boost productivity andresulted into high quality of product produce. In Information System, computerization isconcerned about interrelating different but interdependent transactions. This can result ina system with well-integrated processes that can perform much faster and more accuratethan a manual system.Enrollment is the process of entering and verifying data of student to register on aparticular school. Different interrelated processes build up enrollment procedures calledEnrollment System (ES). ES are used particularly in recording and retrieving studentsinformation. Tracking students information is also one feature of ES, in which the schoolcan trace the standing of a student. Verifying payments was also added to update or browsestudents billings.Enrollment System is a good example of a computer generated process. This canlessen the workload and provides accurate information needed of the school. As a result, it will benefit not only the student but the administration as a whole Enrollment System is very essential in a school. In the case of Nyongani School Inc.,it is composed of a manual system. Directress used manual system in recording andretrieving students information. She also has information about students payment. ...Education in the People's Republic of China is a state-run system of public education run by the Ministry of Education. All citizens must attend school for at least nine years. The government provides primary education for six years, starting at age six or seven, followed by six years of secondary education for ages 12 to 18. Some provinces may have five years of primary school but four years for middle school. There are three years of middle school and three years of high school. The Ministry of Education reported a 99 percent attendance rate for primary school and an 80 percent rate for both primary and middle schools. In 1985, the government abolished tax-funded higher education, requiring university applicants to compete for scholarships based on academic ability. In the early 1980s the government allowed the establishment of the first private schools. The population has had on average only 6.2 years of schooling, but in 1986 the government set the goal of nine years of compulsory education for students by the year 2000. The United Nations Development Program reported that in 2003 China had 116,390 kindergarten classes with 613,000 teachers and 20 million students. At that time, there were 425,846 primary schools with 5.7 million teachers and 116.8 million students. General secondary education had 79,490 institutions, 4.5 million teachers, and 85.8 million students. There also were 3,065 specialized secondary schools with 199,000 teachers and 5 million students. ...Aadhaar: India’s ‘Unique Identification’ System In our politics, we have yet to tap into our new language of hope. For this to be mirrored in our political institutions it requires us to imagine an India that rests not on the struggles of our past, but on the promise and challenges of the future. It requires us to shape systems and policies that give people the ability to travel in search of work, to educate their children and to tap into economic growth.1 — Nandan Nilekani Nandan Nilekani, chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), sipped his coffee while thinking about how to reply to the journalist badgering him and his core team about UIDAI’s challenges. “Will you actually be able to deliver ‘unique identification’ to every Indian resident?” asked the journalist. It was August 30, 2012, three years after the government of India (GoI) had approved the UIDAI project plan. In that time, UIDAI had chalked up some victories. 190 million people had been enrolled within two years of the initial rollout in September 2010. The Australian and Indonesian governments were studying the UIDAI system to adapt it for themselves. Yet some were skeptical that UIDAI would meet its interim goal to cover 600 million of India’s 1.2 billion residents by 2014, and whether the time, cost, and effort were justified. Nilekani responded, “175 million Indians have received a letter in the post giving them a 12-digit number.” India had the largest number of post offices...

...Theoretical Background Customer satisfaction is a marketing term that measures how products or services supplied by a company meet or surpass a customer's expectation. Customer satisfaction is important because it provides marketers and business owners with a foundation that they can use to manage and improve their businesses. The concept of customer satisfaction has drawn the attention of practitioners and academics from last several years based on the fact that customers are the primary source of profit for most of the firms operating in the market (Tam, 2004). According to Churchill and Surprenant (1982), “customer satisfaction is an outcome of purchase and use resulting from the buyers' comparison of the rewards and costs of the purchase in relation to the anticipated consequences”. It is also defined in terms of an emotional state that usually arises in response of evaluating a particular service (Westbrook, 1981). The former concept highlights the fact that satisfaction is determined through a cognitive procedure by comparing what customers give up to get a service( cost) and what they receive in response ( reward), however the later concept takes satisfaction as an emotional feeling that results during the process of evaluation (Tam, 2004). Consistent with this concept, we can say that “customer satisfaction is defined as an emotional response, which results from a cognitive process of evaluating the service received against the costs of obtaining the service” (Woodruff...

...(for example Social Security), and higher interest rates. The national debt has continued to increase approximately $2.05 billion dollars per day since September 2012 (Trading Economics, 2015). If the U.S. government doesn’t find a way to curb the current expansionary fiscal policy, the United States could find itself in a situation similar to Greece over the past few weeks. As a healthcare provider and someone who sees the firsthand effects of the current system on patients and healthcare organizations, I am very interest in healthcare reform and its impact on the Federal budget deficit. With healthcare expenditures in the U.S projected to reach 34% of the GDP by 2040, the case for healthcare reform is a no-brainer, and President Obama’s monetary policies sought to remedy this. However, the Affordable Care Act in its current form is not the answer. The Department of Health and Human Services estimates Obamacare enrollment of 9.6 million people in 2015, with current enrollment only 1 million lives shy of that goal (Market Watch). However, just because more people are insured doesn’t mean that access to care is really any better. A Gallup study...

...in the meaning of having technical skills. I think about all administrators having to be able to multi-task and juggle a lot of the school responsibilities as it pertain to being the instructional leader for the campus. Before any schools system can be establish. You must create a working and learning environment that is going to be beneficial for both students and staff. By creating a safe learning and working environment that is nurturing for staff and students, will allow for the development of others to perform at a high standards and achieve student and teacher growth. Looking at the major functions of the school system. My personal experience as an Assistant Principal is that we must create a group of operating systems that will assist in obtaining the school mission and goals. As I look at my school admission and enrollment process, we have to create and environment in which it is customer service oriented and one that will aid in the process of recruitment and enrollment. All processes must be systematic in which it can be monitored and adjusted at any time to help benefit the function of school operations. What this mean is that at my school is that the registrar, admission clerk, and the assistant principal who is over enrollment must work closely together. As we look at the management part as it pertain...
