...Marketing Objective: (i) To attain higher profit margins (ii) To attain stable profit base (iii) To maintain future growth potential Current Scenario: The current portfolio of the company is: 2 soaps in the low-price sector and 1 10 Re/soap in the high-price sector. In the low price sector, the profits had marginally declined due to the increase in the manufacturing costs. There is no aspect of a price increase because of the fierce competition and political climate. In the high-price sector, the company’s entry represented a very small market share but the high-price market offers better profit margins/tonne and the high-price market (15%) is growing faster than the low-price market (4%). Assuming a Total Toilet Soap market value 900 Crores in 1995, the market value in the high-price sector (Low-Price (75%) – High-Price (25%)) is expected to improve substantially in the coming years (Low-Price (70%) – High-Price (30%) after 3 years) Because of the growth and opportunities in the high-price sector, it is decided to introduce new brands in this sector. Segmentation and Target Segment: (i) Medicinal Soaps (ii) Perfumed Soaps & (iii) Cosmetic/Beauty Soaps Perfumed Soaps is chosen as the target segment. This is because a competitive brand has attained a market share of 10% of high price sector in 2 years after using jasmine perfumed soaps. This segment represented huge potential. Further segmentation targeted women in the age group (18-35) years as they are the major...

Their level of involvement is so profound that typically the family decides the bride or groom. In fact, even till a few decades ago the bride and the groom saw each other for the first time only on their wedding day. Compatibility of the couple is assessed on the basis of horoscopes, and if good, then an alliance is sought for. In urban areas, the couple goes a step further to interact and see if their interests and natures match. ...2 States THE STORY OF MY MARRIAGE Love marriages around the world are simple: Boy loves girl. Girl loves boy. They get married. In India, there are a few more steps: Boy loves Girl. Girl loves Boy. Girl's family has to love boy. Boy's family has to love girl. Girl's Family has to love Boy's Family. Boy's family has to love girl's family. Girl and Boy still love each other. They get married. Welcome to 2 States, a story about Krish and Ananya. They are from two different states of India, deeply in love and want to get married. Of course, their parents don’t agree. To convert their love story into a love marriage, the couple have a tough battle in front of them. For it is easy to fight and rebel, but it is much harder to convince. Will they make it? From the author of blockbusters Five Point Someone, One Night @ the Call Center and The 3 Mistakes of My Life, comes another witty tale about inter-community marriages in modern India. This may be the first time in the history of books, but here goes: Dedicated to my in-laws* *which does not mean I am henpecked, under her thumb or not man enough PROLOGUE “Why am I referred here? I don’t have a problem,” I said. She didn’t react. Just gestured that I remove my shoes and take the couch. She had an office like any other doctor’s, minus the smells and cold, dangerous instruments. She waited for me to talk more. I hesitated and spoke again. “I’m sure people come here with big, insurmountable problems. Girlfriends dump...

...Bombay High Court 1 1862 - 2012 A Journey of 150 Years through some Memorable Judgments Part 1 2 PREFACE A tiny kernel of an idea planted by Justice Mridula Bhatkar took root, and has resulted in a humble effort to present before you a compendium of the crux of some of the judgments of the Judges who have served the Bombay High Court since its inception in 1862.1 The initial idea was to document one judgment of the First Court from each year which was modified to include a judgment of the Bombay High Court of each year. I soon realized that it was too expansive an idea to merit a single judgment a year. I could collect and collate, as many as ten judgments which would qualify to show the development of the law we desired to portray. Having found too vast a number of such judgments, I had to settle at a more reasonable figure of about five judgments each year to showcase the progress this Court has made from its illustrious beginnings. Our Chief Justice Mohit Shah and our Justice Chandrachud wholeheartedly supported the idea to complement the Book published on this the sesquicentennial of our Court. As the number of Judges grew, fewer judgments of each Judge would be selected as illustrations. These judgments are not the only path-finding groundbreaking ones; they are also ones with simplicity and legal elegance. The number of judgments we settled upon just would not permit all deserving judgments to be compiled; only a few have been picked from each year as the first in...
