...Jay-Z & Kanye West Watch the Throne Reviewed by Jonte Allen At 42 years of age, you would think that a hip-hop artist such as Jay-Z, would be out of the rap game, disappearing from the public eye due to a decline in sales over the years or owing the IRS a large sum of money in back taxes. When you consider the arrogance and self-centered nature of Kanye West, it is mildly surprising that his attitude has not resulted in the demise of his career. However, in spite of Jay-Z’s age and Kanye’s attitude, their recent collaboration on their album, Watch the Throne defies the odds. It is a 16-track album with beautiful artwork displayed on the cover as well as in the booklet. Even though they are already rich and powerful, they still take time out of their busy schedule to make great music. Is this album considered a classic based on the deliverance of dope lyrics and an awesome production of music? It all depends on your point of view. There are some positives and negatives describing this album. First off, there is a lot of creativity to it. The artists describe their style of rapping as Luxury Rap. They are very enthusiastic and arrogant about having it all – from the places they travel to the designer clothes they wear. However, they also get very serious, talking about the downfalls of success; like the friends they knew and the people they lost when they were coming up. The artists also address the issue of Black on Black violence that goes on across America; while...

Seeing lots of drawings kind of inspired me to draw, especially vehicles. What was your first designing job and what did it involve? Jay: My first job was for Lucasfilm (Star Wars), it was an opportunity to work in a creative environment. I designed a variety of vehicles and environments for the Star Wars prequel film trilogy. How did you gain your skills and have they always been helpful in your jobs? Jay: I went to school and studied industrial design that gave me the greatest skills for the work I do. ...Why we swear: reasons and effects of swearing Swearing is part of daily life and it is used not only to show aggressive feelings towards others, but also as Hoeksema and Napoli (2009: 612) state, “flavors our speech.” However, this is not the whole story. Jay (2009: 154), for example, considers swearing as a method to communicate certain emotions in a more effective way than by simply using non-taboo words. The author proceeds on the assumption that no human being is born with the ability or knowledge of swearing but that one learns about taboos through social communication, thus, inheriting a system of swearing and etiquette (2009: 154). In other words, children seem to learn a culture-based system of expletives and their special socially given connotation through a transfer from other members of a linguistic community. Moreover, this process is said to take place at the start of language learning (Fägersten 2012:...

...The Music Conservatory 2015-2016 Season On September 10th 2015 at 7:30 I attended the performance of Susan Nigros and Mark Lindeblad at Roosevelt University inside the Ganz Memorial Hall Auditorium. When I proceeded into the auditorium, I was given a program itinerary, which gave me an insight of both Mark Lindeblad and Susan Nigro’s musical background. Susan Nigro plays the contrabassoon, while Mark Lindeblad is an amazing pianist. Both Susan Nigro and Mark Lindeblad are from Chicago, they worked and played in various symphonies, both have earned degrees in music and have collaborated on music since 1990. While sitting in the auditorium minutes before the performance began; I noticed the architecture of the auditorium. The auditorium was not large, but not too small either. The auditorium can possibly accommodate 100 people comfortably. I would estimate that there were 30 people in the audience. In the auditorium there were wooden seats, wooden floors, and painted morals on the walls with wooden panel surrounding the walls. The ceilings were white and high with golden light fixtures. The stage was wooden, and on the wooden stage I saw there were black chairs, one piano bench, two big black grand pianos and four microphone of different sizes. At 7:30 exactly a woman dressed in all black came onto the stage, she welcomed the audience and informed the audience to silence phones, after her pleasant announcement the light went dim and the performance began. Three people walked...

Closing Remarks I. Jay Record Master, We have talked about opening up a nostalgic record store for a long time because the two of us have always been into records and collecting them. You have become a connoisseur and an expert with nostalgic records and your knowledge amazes me every day. Having stated that, I know that you do not have very much experience with how a business needs to operate and especially an understanding of the information systems that aid the business operation from making mistakes, quality control measures. This proposal will lay out five information systems that I think you should be aware of and grasp the concept behind them. I am not expecting you to become an expert overnight on these systems. I want you to know what other tools are out there to help make our dream a successful one. As I stated, there are five different types of information systems (IS) that I am proposing we utilize with the nostalgic record store. They are: 1. Functional Area IS | Supports the activities within a specific functional area | 2. Transaction Processing IS | Processes transaction data from business events | 3. Office Automation IS | Supports daily work activities of individuals and groups | 4. Management IS | Produces reports summarized...

...are here: Home / Models / Spiral Model Spiral Model December 22, 2011 by Tutor 19 Comments Sdlc spiral Model includes the iterative nature of the prototyping model and the linear nature of the waterfall model. This approach is ideal for developing software that is revealed in various versions. In each iteration of the spiral approach, software development process follows the phase-wise linear approach. At the end of first iteration, the customer evaluates the software and provides the feedback. Based on the feedback, software development process enters into the next iteration and subsequently follows the linear approach to implement the feedback suggested by the customer. The process of iteration continues throughout the life of the software. An example of the spiral model is the evolution of Microsoft Windows Operating system from Windows 3.1 to windows 2003. We may refer to Microsoft windows 3.1 Operating System as the first iteration in the spiral approach. The product was released and evaluated by the customers, which include the market large. After getting the feedback from customers about the windows 3.1, Microsoft planned to develop a new version of windows operating system. Windows’95 was released with the enhancement and graphical flexibility. Similarly, other versions of windows operating system were released. Spiral Approach Phases 1. Customer Communication: Includes understanding the system requirements by continuous communication between the customer and...

No, I’m not talking about skin color or ethnicity. I’m talking about body language and tone of voice. It doesn’t matter what color or sex you are. You are constantly being judged and examined by your peers. Not much you can do about it except embrace it and use it to your advantage. Correcting your image has its way of defining how you are perceived instantaneously.
