...Cancer. This is a problem because Breast Cancer, to me, seems like the most talked about type of cancer at this time. I think that more people should be aware of the causes of Breast Cancer and also about where their money goes when they donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the largest funder of Breast Cancer research. People should be more educated about these two things because there is so many people affected by Breast Cancer. I want my audience to learn about what the Susan G. Komen Foundation is really doing with the money they are donating to the Foundation. To do this, I created three genres of composition. These genres include a photo essay, a brochure, and a poster. I hope to reach my audience in a different way with these compositions than I did with my essay. For my three genres I chose to compose a photo essay, a brochure, and a poster. These are all unique and can reach my audience and have them understand what I am trying to have them understand. Between all of the compositions, I included photos of women who have had mastectomies, pink ribbons, and the Susan G. Komen Foundation logo. I included the mastectomy pictures because I think it is really important for people to see what Breast Cancer physically does to someone. Not many people are open about showing their mastectomy pictures and these women bravely went in front of the camera and showed off their mastectomies whether it was done to one of their breasts or both. The album I found the photos in is called...

...Question B It has been argued by some authors that there are principle economic weaknesses that prevent Canada from responding to a rapidly changing economic environment. Discuss what the weaknesses are and how they have hampered Canadian competitiveness. Finally, offer your own assessment, drawing on course materials, of this argument. There are numerous economic weaknesses that the author has argued. This essay mainly focuses on these flaws and how they are hampering Canadian competitiveness. Firstly majority of the companies in Canada are foreign owned or foreign controlled. From manufacturing sector including auto, chemical, and electronics to giant retail stores such as Wal-mart, Costco, Sears, Hudson Bay, etc are all foreign owned. In automobile sector GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda, etc dominates the auto industry in Canada. The automotive industry employs 158,302 people in automotive assembly and component manufacturing, and another 336,212 in distribution and aftermarket sales and service[1]. These foreign operated companies are extremely aggressive in nature, tough for domestic companies to compete and have monopoly over Canadian market. In addition they are usually productive than domestically controlled companies. Equally important it seems that foreign industry has assisted Canadian economy to become stronger and employ Canadian, however Government studies revealed that foreign enterprises had generally employed Canadian capital to expand...

...Contribution and Diversity Questions Your background, experiences, and values will enhance and diversify Kellogg. How? (1-2 double-spaced pages) The Darden School seeks a diverse and unique entering class of future managers. How will your distinctiveness enrich our learning environment and enhance your prospects for success as a manager? Every essay question on the admissions application is geared toward the same thing. Committee members want to find out who you are, what makes you different from everyone else, and how you will contribute to the school if accepted. This question asks these things outright. Because it asks so directly what the admissions committee wants to know, this is one of the most common questions you will find. The question has a structure similar to the Why M.B.A.? question. It asks both Why us? and Why you? However, the nature of this question lends itself to a more personal response. Whereas the Why M.B.A.? question asks what you have done, what you want to do, and how that relates to the school, this question asks about who you are and how it relates to the school. The Why M.B.A.? question asks about your experiences, and this question asks about your qualities. Just as you brainstormed about your experiences, actions, and goals for the first question, brainstorm about your qualities and characteristics for this one. What sets you apart from everyone else? What words do friends and family use to describe you? For some people, the focus...

...Dimitrula Velez Option 1: Recycling Your Old Computer Information Technology Center One Main Street Houston, Texas 77002 Re: Desktop Computing Project I’m writing in regards to the Desktop Computing Project at University of Houston-Downtown. According to the Project, full time faculty and staff members are provided with a desktop computer or laptop on a three year rotating basis determined by the department. The computers that fall behind minimum standard are upgraded based on the departments upgrade guideline. The project did not state what happens with the computers that can’t be used. There are millions of computers that are being thrown out in the waste land. “Companies Financial Corp. in Baton Rouge, La., was able to sell about 400 PCs to employees for $5 each” (Nash). “The rest went to recyclers that dismantled them and sold the scrap copper, gold and glass” (Nash). . We currently have over 14,000 students at the University of Houston-Downtown; out of 14,000 student we can determine how many students are in need of a computer, and offer them one. "People are much more interested in giving an old computer to a non-profit than seeing it recycled." An Institution of higher learning such as University of Houston-Downtown, should start a program that donates computers to students who do not own a computer or donate computers to a nonprofit organization. “In the U.S., even if you made a well-intentioned effort to properly recycle your computer, there's a 50...

...EDUCATION ESSAY My purpose for seeking a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership is to expand my knowledge of theory and research methods as it pertains to education. I especially want to fine-tune my research skills as I feel that the importance of gaining research skills is imperative to becoming a lifelong learner and developing intellectual self-actualization as I prepare myself for a career in Education. I realize the importance of gaining credibility among my future colleagues and people that I will be serving in the field. My view of Education is that of a reformist. I have a particular interest in the improvement of homeless individuals, single mothers and women of color. Because of my own experience with both homelessness and single motherhood, I know the feeling of helplessness as you are sinking deeper and deeper in desperation that you feel that you will never recover from it. I have seen how generations of these people have become prisoners by being illiterate and /or insufficiently educated around our city with little or no hope of getting free from their bondage. Although I have struggled hard to get myself out of this situation I refuse to forget. I have strove to make a difference wherever I can. As volunteer at Christian Assistance Ministry I witnessed the overworked conditions that the social workers and volunteers faced. Worn from these conditions these dedicated workers had no respite from their daily work of feeding, clothing and providing funds for...

...Management Some important questions that I as the owner ask are exactly the same issues covered in the mission statement: Who are my customers? Where are they? What do they want? When do they want it? Why should they buy it from me? How do I get it to them? This essay describes my concrete experience of running and managing a construction company. Pricing, for the Construction Company, relates to how well the project is estimated. After the contractor estimates the cost of the project they must add a fair profit. At this point it is important to know your competition and to determine construction “profit margins” for your locale. The better you know your competitors the more competitive you will be. The success of the firm can very well be determined by the skill of the estimator. [pic] In the competitive bidding market the lowest reasonable bid most often get the contract. Promoting is the art of selling and can be accomplished in a number of different ways, such as advertising, brochures, direct mailings, and personal contacts. Your decision on the best way to promote your construction company will depend on the type of contract you are competing for and your market. In the construction business competing for the jobs in your market area is done with bids. The two different types of contracts are public bids, or negotiated bids. For public competitive bids pricing is the primary marketing emphasis, and for negotiated bids contacts are most important. Az űrlap teteje | ...
