However, in many of the qualitative case studies we reviewed, sufficient details in research design, data collection, and data analysis were missing. For instance, there are studies that do not offer sampling logic or a description of the analysis through which research outcomes are drawn. Further, research protocols for doing...

...1.0 INTRODUCTION: Strategy implementation is also referred to as strategy execution or strategy actualization. There is no universally accepted definition of strategy implementation. Reading through various scholarly works, one is able to identify three broad distinct conceptions of the term. Some authors view it as a sequence of carefully planned consecutive steps, a perspective which can be labeled a process perspective. The second approach treats strategy implementation as a series of concerted (but often parallel) actions and examines these actions from a behavior perspective. Some authors combine the process perspective and behavior or action perspective and form a third approach, which we label as a hybrid perspective. Under the process perspective, implementation is the process that turns plans into action assignments and ensures that such assignments are executed in a manner that accomplishes the plan’s stated objectives (Kotler, 1984). Strategy implementation is an iterative process of implementing strategies, policies, programs and action plans that allows a firm to utilize its resources to take advantage of opportunities in the competitive environment (Harrington, 2006). Under the behaviour perspective, implementation is the actions initiated within the organization and its relationships with external constituencies to realize the strategy (Varadarajan, 1999). Implementation is operationally defined as those senior-level leadership behaviors and activities that...

...Journal Article Critique: Brand Management in small to medium – sized enterprises. In the journal – Brand management in small to medium – sized enterprises, the author mentioned that although there were many journals or studies talking about important activities involved in brand management in large organizations (LOs) with well-established brands, no study has been made to research branding in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). This journal therefore has been made to examine the role and scope of branding management in small and medium enterprises. In the old mindset, brand management just applied and took effect in large organizations with sustainable budget, in this journal authors has given out a new concept that branding management also takes effect in small and medium sized enterprises. Although there is a clearly difference in management style of large organizations and small to medium size enterprises, the role and scope of brand management in both is totally the same. Brand management can also help SMEs in entering the market or position their product in customers’ mind… but in a smaller scale and budget compared with LOs. Therefore, from the journal we can see that the authors pointed out the characteristic of small to medium sized enterprises and large organizations. Besides, they also mentioned how small to medium sized enterprises or large organizations apply in branding management (the similarities and differences) In my point of view, one of the strength...
