...Tech Myths # Leaving your phone in charging can make your battery bad. 5 Apple User’s Myth Busted If you’re like most people, you probably leave your phone plugged in overnight long after the battery is fully charged. Some used to say this would hurt your phone's battery life, but in fact, there's no proof that this damages your phone’s battery in any way. Modern smartphones run on lithium-ion batteries, which are smart enough to stop charging when they’ve reached capacity. Quite simply, it is not possible to overcharge a cell phone battery. However, leaving it plugged in for more that 24 hours can cause it to overheat, thereby shortening its overall lifespan. Most Li-ion batteries and chargers contain internal circuitry that stops the charging when it hits 100 percent, but always unplug it after long charging intervals, just to be safe. # More megapixels always means a better camera Most budding and professional photographers will tell you that the most important ingredient in the optical system is the sensor, because that's the part that captures the light. The sensor is essentially the "film" material of a digital camera. No light, no photo.Light enters through the camera lens, then passes to the camera sensor, which receives the information and translates it into an electronic signal. From there, the image processor creates the image and fine-tunes it to correct for a typical set of photographic flaws, like noise. The size of the image sensor is extremely important...

...The three browsers that I would be speaking of are Mozilla Firefox , Google Chrome and Opera. These three browsers are the main browsers on the market at the present point in time they are all used world wide and are used by millions each between themselves as individual browsers. They are all supportive of cross platform use Windows Os , Mac Os and Linux Os and can also be used on portable devices such as tablets and cell phones. Opera being the older of the three has been around for quite some time in fact since 1994 when it was started as a research project at Telenor a Norwegian telecommunications company. In 1995, the project branched out into a separate company named Opera Software ASA, and launched a version in 1996.Opera has made many upgrades since then, and introduced notable features such as Speed Dial. The Opera browser was named MultiTorg up until version 2.0 and was not available to the public. Opera was known for its multiple document interface (MDI) and 'hotlist' (sidebar), which made browsing several pages at once much easier as with the other 2 browsers Mozilla and Chrome In February 2013, Opera Software announced that their proclaimed rendering engine, Presto, would be phased out in favour of WebKit which is carried also by Mozilla and Chrome.[4] Opera 15 saw the browser being fully rewritten, with this and subsequent releases being based on Blink and Chromium Os. Even with as many features carried Opera browser is recommended for slower and earlier...

...Determining the Benefits to Each Browser The purpose of this research paper is to take the reviews from users to help highlight both the positives as well as the negatives of the top four widely used Internet browsers, which will ultimately help determine which browser is the best available for consumers to use. The purpose of this study is to determine which browser is the best out of the four, and to highlight the best features from each browser, and determine their significance on how each feature is. The significance of the study is to analyze the information given on each browser and translate it into information that Internet users can take away to help them determine which browser is the best one for them between Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. The Internet has become more readily available across the globe which has caused many software developers to create their own Internet browser. In the past couple of years there has been a flood of Internet browsers available for use (Bidgoli, 2009). When the Internet was only available in select countries there was only a select number of browsers that a user could use to access the Internet. The Internet is only going to become available to more people which will most likely bring more Internet browsers to the market. There are currently millions of users that are accessing the Internet daily and each browser developer is fighting for their share of users in an effort to prevent one single browser from dominating...

... web page, or other kinds of content. It can also be used to access information provided by web servers in private networks or files in file systems. There has been a virtual explosion of browsers which are designed according to their operating system and others, target specific users such as those majoring on social networking. There are also clones of established browsers such as Firefox and Google Chrome which seek to improve on the original by being “leaner” of offering different features (Anonymous, 2011). According to Bowler (2009) the browser world have spent time focusing on delivering their product to multiple OS. This helps them build many of the browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Internet Explorer and Safari. Mozilla started from scratch — Firefox was the result. And now users have no shortage of browsers to choose from, partly due to the work of the Mozilla foundation. the first full point release of Mozilla’s popular open-source Web browser in nearly three years, combines user-interface, performance and Web-standards support enhancements, along with new provisions for making user data both more and less accessible across the network (Brooks, 2011). “Google entered this arena and many speculated it was so they could build their operating system. Google delivered new enterprise ready installation packages and configuration options allowing administrators to centrally manage the availability,...

...What a great question to ask which browser do you use? Well I looked at the falling browsers Safari, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera. I would have to say Opera is the one that seemed to work best for me. I am on OS X, and have switched from Safari due to Apple not fixing an issue with Safari on Snow Leopard (the option to block cookies doesn’t actually block all cookies on Snow Leopard Safari since an update about a year ago, and Apple still has not fixed it). When that occurred, I tested out several browsers to see which "felt right" to me in overall user interface, speed, resource usage, and security. Opera was the winner. Firefox is very bloated on OS X, as is Chrome. Firefox has many extensions and is always undergoing updates. Chrome is speedy, but Google's "Big Brother" act has turned me off to them as a company (and, yes, I know I can opt out, but that doesn't make it feel any less ire). Both Firefox and Chrome have useful and fun extensions, though, and for a while that is what made me nearly choose Firefox (again, Chrome was out). I kept Safari around just for the Reader and Read Later functions built into the browser, and once I found similar extensions for Firefox I almost went with it as the browser of choice. Then came the resource hog issues and the slow browsing experience, and, sometimes, the crashes. Firefox would always crash. I would be browsing for thirty minutes or so and it would keep crashing. There was Opera, a browser nearly as speedy as Chrome...

...User Manual Critique I have chosen to critique the Apple iPhone manual for ISO 6.1. This is the most current iPhone operating system available. It is only available on Apple mobile devices. The manual has 32 chapters and three appendixes. There are 156 pages total in this manual. One of the most important things I find with this manual is that it is easy to navigate. That is if you are only looking into one section. If you need to look up anything else in the manual you will either have to reload the page, or scroll all the way back through the pages. This can be annoying to the reader and can be easily solved by making the manual truly online and not a browser PDF. One of the issues that I have with this manual is that the print is small in some of the sections. There is the option to zoom the page in, but not all readers are familiar with the features of their individual web browsers. With that, readers will become aggravated with the fact that they have to squint or get close to their screen in order to read some of the smaller print. The manual does have interactive links to external sites within the Apple Company, allowing you to go further in-depth into some of the information that is just touched on in the manual. This allows the reader the option to gain more information on the subjects that Apple decided to not place an abundance of information in the manual on. The manual overall is not designed well. There are areas of the manual that there are a large amount...

...Research We received a task which was to investigate science at work. This would vary from many different fields in science meaning that there are many different options which are available to us across the U.K. Due to this, we decided to narrow the search to local companies so that finding information from them was easier to attain due to them being easily accessible. So, to do narrow the companies to make it easier to find the companies and group them; 1. Firstly, before anything, sat with my peers and teachers and came up with different sectors of what companies would have aspects of sciences which are used and then we created the groups to specific aspects of sciences such as Health, Food, farming, education, manufacturing etc. We chose these types of sectors due to them being specific to a type of science which would split the companies due to the different uses of what the comp 2. .anies focus on. As we created the groups, we made sure that our groups were such of those that can be linked with each other. 3. After doing so, we then brainstormed on what the company types would fit under the categories we created. This was done on a mind map so that we could see the groups and what type of company or what the company specializes in would be visible to us after we had found the types of companies we were looking for, we could then find the companies that were close to us. We were looking for the companies that were near us due to them being easily accessible...

...Management and Leadership Paper Kathryn Bond December 13, 2010 BUS330 Israr Hayath San Diego Zoo is this paper’s subject for discussing leadership and management within the company, which is a non-profit organization. Leadership is leading by way of exemplary examples and instilling confidence in the audience. Leaders are working for the good of the Company. Leaders are good trainers since they want to pass the information on to trainees to avoid mishaps. Leaders change things like conventional believes and practices. Leaders are knowledgeable in their field. The Zoological Society of San Diego has existed 90 years. It is now referred to as Global Zoo. There many leaders at the zoo. There is a Board of Directors with 12 members. The leaders at this level are concerned with the Zoo’s mission which is conservation, education, and recreation organization dedicated to the reproduction, protection and exhibition animals, plants, and their habitats (Mission Statement). These are the leaders that stay abreast of environmental changes. At the administrative level leadership may not be so strong or evident to all zoo employees since there is rarely direct contact with them (Halogen). In 2006, the Society brought in approximately 100 million dollars for the first time. This level of revenue drove the society to re-evaluate its old practices and to create a new strategic plan that would modernize their way of doing business. One of the key elements of the...

...Prime Minister Ariel Sharon shocked the world when he announce that Israel will disengage from the Palestinians, a Disengagement Plan, primarily from the Gaza Strip. There were several protests that erupted due to this news, as well as a human chain that was created in protest to stop the disengagement. Once it was decided that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) would carry out the evacuation mission, the issue of how this move would occur arose. Major General Dan Harel, head of the Southern Command was in charge of the entire mission. Harel decided to have a roundtable that would decide how this mission was to be executed. Among those that were invited was Lieutenant Colonel Daniel, a chief psychologist of the Southern Command. Daniels leadership proved to be that of someone that is consultative. A consulting leader is one that is concerned about the support dimension, but there is still a high emphasis on the task itself (Kloppenborg, 96). This is demonstrated when Daniel was first given the position and the task. Daniel main focus was first the well-being of that of the people. He gathered the other IDK psychologists, listened to them and their problems, and they all identified how they were going to complete the mission. The importance of listening to the other phycologists was to determine the mental capacity of the evacuators. Daniel also did research on other large evacuations to see what measures were taken during those instances. His research concluded that there was not...

...Google and apple Leadership styles There are a number of different approaches, or 'styles' to leadership and management that are based on different assumptions and theories. The style that individuals use will be based on a combination of their beliefs, values and preferences, as well as the organizational culture and norms which will encourage some styles and discourage others. * Charismatic Leadership * Participative Leadership * Situational Leadership * Transactional Leadership * Transformational Leadership * The Quiet Leader * Servant Leadership Charismatic Leadership Disciplines > Leadership > Leadership styles > Charismatic Leadership Assumptions | Style | Discussion | See also Assumptions Charm and grace are all that is needed to create followers. Self-belief is a fundamental need of leaders. People follow others that they personally admire. Style The Charismatic Leader gathers followers through dint of personality and charm, rather than any form of external power or authority. The searchlight of attention It is interesting to watch a Charismatic Leader 'working the room' as they move from person to person. They pay much attention to the person they are talking to at any one moment, making that person feel like they are, for that time, the most important person in the world. Charismatic Leaders pay a great deal of attention in scanning and reading their environment, and are good at picking up the moods and...

...Participative Leadership: Strengths and Weaknesses The simple act of making decisions is an essential task leaders must perform effectively to succeed. Behavioral theories of leadership focus on how leaders approach a situation and whether they dictate orders or involve others to encourage support. Research into decision-making behavior has identified three broad categories of leaders: autocratic, democratic, and laissez-faire (Changing Minds, 2011). This paper will focus on these behavioral theories of leadership, primarily concentrating on participative leadership. An autocratic leader tells employees what to do and how to do it. On the opposite extreme, a laissez-faire leader allows employees to make their own decisions with little leader involvement. In the middle lies participative leadership where the leader includes employees in the decision-making process and lets them take part in determining what to do and how to do it (Big Dog & Little Dog's Performance Juxtaposition, 2010) . My preferred leadership style is participative leadership, confirmed by a 30-item leadership style self-assessment focused on leadership style beliefs (Big Dog & Little Dog's Performance Juxtaposition, 2010). I identify least with a laissez-faire leadership style as my organization expects leaders to be more intimately involved in most matters. In addition, I feel the need to be involved and am not comfortable completely relinquishing control, at least for important matters. I strongly...
