We believe that universal access to renewable energy is the best way to alleviate poverty and combat climate change. The aim of choosing photovoltaic for my leaflet was to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide gas, which is emitted from the traditional way of producing electricity; that is, the burning of fossil fuels.
The social benefits for people is that the monthly energy cost bill is less as the sun is a free and renewable source of energy. With the use of the photovoltaic system, there is hardly any bills to pay on the contrary there are money to collect, as the State buys the energy that is left.
Reduction of Carbon dioxide gas in the atmosphere, preventing health problem such as asthma, allergies, and respiratory diseases can also be lessened as the quality of air we breathe is better. So its substance content is of anthropogenic origin. Improving air quality is a key issue in protecting our environment as the pollutants in the air does not only affect the health of the inhabitants but also affect the ozone layer. One possible way of achieving reduction in the amount of pollutants in the air is by producing energy efficiently such as in the case of the photovoltaic system where there is no carbon dioxide emission. The environmental benefits of photovoltaics are as follows: there will be lesser deforestations hence not only saving tress that absorb the carbon dioxide in the air but also saving the natural habitats of some animals, some of which might even be on the verge on instinction. Furthermore, the need of burning coal to produce energy will be reduced, hence protecting the ozone layer from the amount of carbon dioxide gas being emitted.
