The main character is Leven Thumps. His motivation is to return Geth, the heir of Foo, to the turrets so he can be restored to the king of Foo. His emotional needs are to not feel excluded and to have friends and supportive figures in his life. His major flaw is that he trusts people far too much, and sometimes doesn’t listen to good advice, which gets Leven into trouble very often. He was born in a small Oklahoma town, and his “parents” never treated him well, which led up to him wanting to leave. His qualities influence the plot because his disobedience and ignorance leads him to release a malevolent and powerful force, which affects the plot extremely in the sequel book, and this one as well.
