...Trident University Christopher R. Collier Module Two: SLP, Managing Individual Behavior MGT501 Management and Organizational Behavior Dr. Marva Dixon 30 January 201 Method and Results of Testing The results of my Humanmetrics Jung Typology Test™ were that I was an ISTJ which stands for Introverted, Sensing, Thinking and Judging. My specific scores in each of the categories were: Introvert (22%), Sensing (25%), Thinking (12%), and Judging (67%). (Leverage Your Personality Type, n.d.) The test revealed that I have a “slight preference of Introversion over Extraversion, a moderate preference of Sensing over Intuition, a slight preference of Thinking over Feeling, and a distinctive preference of Judging over Perceiving.” (Leverage Your Personality Type, n.d.) Based on my results, proposed career paths would be: “management, administrative management, accounting, and computer programming.” (Of Interest, n.d) Results of Testing Identification of Strengths and Weaknesses One of my main strengths is that due to my preference in two categories being only slight margins, depending on a given situation my responses may be from the opposite category. This means I, at times, can also be extraverted and feeling. In management this would come in quite handy as it would mean that I would feel comfortable in different roles and situations. Another strength that I possess is that due to my introverted preference, “feeling is inferred, or expressed nonverbally, through eye contact...

...16 Personalities Analysis about Me ISFP personality Introverted (I) : Reserved, listen carefully, prefer solitary activities, more comfortable when alone than when around other people, get exhausted by social interaction Sensing (S) : Observant, rely on their senses, absorbed in practical matters, focus on what has happened Feeling (F) : Sensitive, follow their hearts, keep feelings close to the surface, focus on harmony and cooperation Perceiving (P) : Probing, prefer keeping their options open, reluctant to commit, relaxed about their work, seek freedom ISFP personalities are generally seen as the most spontaneous and unpredictable of all introverted types. Only one thing is constant in their lives and that is change – ISFPs love exploring and embracing new things, ideas and activities. They are very good at sensing such opportunities, but the ISFP personality traits also push them towards experimenting and coming up with ideas that no one has thought of before. ISFPs usually find it easy to set new trends and inspire other people – their penchant for experimentation is unmatched by any other personality type. This personality trait is connected with ISFPs’ love of freedom – ISFPs are very independent and fiercely resist all forms of control. People with this personality type are the ultimate “free souls”, seeing nearly all rules, guidelines and traditions as self-imposed limitations that make life dull and boring. ISFPs live completely in the present...

...Todays teams can operate virtually, without the physical limitations of distance or time. We can use electronic collaboration technology and other techniques to leverage the individual diversity that we can find on today’s teams. When developing a strategy for communication and collaboration you must anticipate the learning style and personality styles of your team. Each team has its own unique characteristics, interests and concerns. Each presents it own challenges and opportunities. Looking at a team that consists of the following personality types; Thinker, Organizer and Giver in an online environment, it may be helpful to use email threads for communication. The thinker and the organizer will both contribute well in an email thread because it allows for structure. Email threads allow the reader to keep and organize or reflect on what is being discussed. The giver likes to study and offer assistance to others, which can also be found in the email thread format. This will enable the team to better collaborate when they come together to complete the project. It is possible that the thinker will have analyzed the situation from all angles and would be able to easily layout a timeline or graph of his thought process that will lead the organizer to establish a timeline and the giver will keep everyone calm. The learning styles of Verbal-Linguistic, Interpersonal and Intrapersonal can create a good working environment. The Verbal-Linquistic learner would stand...

...Personality matters to the Marketers Aren’t organizations concerned that their marketing strategies are based on half-baked knowledge and information? Aren’t organizations always concerned of dropping sales? If marketers are trying to get to the moon with a bunch of sky rockets strapped to the back of the chair, they are never going to get their goals in place. It might push them somewhere, but not precisely where they want to go. But, the million dollar question remains, how to know what the consumers are thinking and that too well ahead of time? And the answer to that is, marketers need to know the “personality” of the consumers. Their personality is the key to make them buy the product. Personality affects decisions like when and where to buy. An indiviual who doesn’t enjoy crowds is likely to shop in a boutique, early in the morning or late in the night. One might prefer buying online if one has limited free time after work. A person who simply loves shopping can be easily found at every hook and corner of shopping malls and would prefer choosing products personally rather than buying online. And this is where the role of marketers becomes all the more crucial. They can leverage on this and create differentiation in their products and by understanding the personalitites can increase the sales as well. • It acquaints the practitioners with what customers value • It helps understand their thoughts • It dictates their behavior For marketers the strategy in place needs...

As the test came to a close it gave me a type of ISFP: Introvert (11%), Sensing (12%), Feeling (25%), and Perceiving (11%). Including those results, it also said that I have a slight preference of Introversion over Extraversion, Sensing over Intuition, Perceiving over Judging and a moderate preference of Feeling over Thinking. The youngest child tends to be spontaneous, creative, and less rigid compared to their older siblings (Forer 1969). Although the younger child communicates primarily with older people, their communication style progresses backwards as they realize that manipulation, screaming, tattling, and tears are effective ways of gaining their parents attention, and demonstrating leverage over their older, dominant siblings (Forer, 1969). Later-borns tend have lower verbal skills so they cope by leaning towards displays of physical aggressiveness while using muscular and similar types of communication to survive with the outside environment more readily than the first-born (Forer, 1969)....

...Robbins and Judge (2006), “Motivation is the process that accounts for an individual’s intensity, direction and persistence of effort toward attaining a goal” (p. 186). Satisfaction is defined by Merriam-Webster’s dictionary as the “fulfillment of a need or want” and performance is defined as “the execution of an action” or “the fulfillment of a claim, promise or request”. Motivation, satisfaction and performance are important aspects that a manager must employ with people and each aspect can define the success or failure the employee has as an individual or a team”. If a manager has a positive influence within their span of control, the manager will be able to increase an employee’s motivation, satisfaction and performance. ...Essay on Key Topic on Organizational Behavior MBA 545 People and Systemructor Essay on Key Topic on Organizational Behavior November 11, 2010 The topic I am going to analyze in my Essay on Key Topic on Organizational Behavior assignment is Leadership. Starting with its definition, leadership is the organization of a group of people, so as to achieve a number of specific goals that the group and mostly the leader set. More specifically, a leader is considered to be somebody, who creates and communicates a vision, provides his “followers” with guidance and motivation, in order to achieve certain targets, influences others through his use of power, establishes and maintains group culture, clarifies roles and empowers the members of his group, and of course, has the ability to make tough decisions with limited information. Being a leader is totally different comparing to being a manager of a group of people. Being a leader, as already mentioned, means giving motivation, influencing and changing the behavior of people, when necessary, inspiring and creating a vision for the group of people...

We have tried to break them down into the categories listed below as best as possible. Personal Questions - Finance Questions - Accounting Questions - Other Questions [pic] Personal Questions Q. Spend 5 minutes and walk me through your resume. A. The first question you will most likely be asked. On the surface it seems like an easy question, but you will need to be clear and concise with your response. This is something you will need to practice repeatedly so that you can SUCCINCTLY talk about yourself and relate your background to the job. Try to start after you finished undergrad. and talk about: Each position you have held, your role and responsibilities (try to highlight ones that match the job), and what you liked about that work. You want to work your way up to attending Emory. Q. Why do you want to work in Investment Banking/Sales & Trading / Research/ PCS? A. Probably the second question you will be asked. This is probably the most important question you will have to answer. You should be able to relate experiences in your job and interests that match the job you are interviewing for. This is a question that you need to have a rehearsed 2-minute response. Your answer should end along the line "and that’s why I want to go into Investment Banking." How can you relate your background if you didn’t used to work in the industry? Be creative...
