Children are our future, and as our future we want our world to be free of sicknesses and diseases,

well as much as we like the idea it is not going to happen. We have children who are suffering from

life- threatening illnesses who do not have a chance to be a kid or to grow up with the memories of

childhood. We try all we can as parents and family to keep our children safe we just can not perdict

a child getting a life threating illness, we do all we can to make our child happy while going through a

scary ordeal. If we can make one dream come true for a sick child for one day of forgetting they are

staring down a life threatening illness and make that child laugh wouldn't giving that child a wish come

true be amazing?

The social program I am creating is a program to help a child who is terminally ill or has a life

threatening illness called “Dreams Come True.” A dream come True program would for one day

grant sa wish one child makes come true. To make this happen I would need to set up the program, find

donors and volunteers, financing to help the wishes come true.

Advances in medicine and modern technonogy have increased the survival rate in children with

chronic illness, including illnessess that were considered fatal (Cohen,1995).Witnessing the child's pain

and fear, combined with the constant fear of death makes it difficult for the family to function normally

and plan for the future (Haas, 1990; Rolland, 1994; Sloper, 2000). Literature on the differential impact

of the child's chronic illness on the fathers and mothers is limited . Although paternal roles have

changed over the past few decades, with fathers becoming more involved in the care of their children,

most studies have investigated the impact of the child's chronic illness on mothers, assuming that

fathers perceive the illness, react, and cope in a similar manner. In a study of fathers of children with

chronic illnesses, Cayse (1994) found no differences between the severity of the illness and father's

coping behaviors. Fathers may be as deeply traumatized as mothers. A child's parents will benefit from

A Dream Come True program. it will help them for one day to be able to see their child happy and not

crying. The wishes will be for children under the age of 18 years old. I want to start this program to

help the children be able to have a special day just for them, it will bbe all about the child, We will

have lots of voluteers, donors, support from major companies. The A Dream Come True program will

be a funded program only we will rely on donation throughout our community. I will start first by

having fun raisers. I know this program will be difficult to start right off, I am sure their will be some

kinks to iron out before we can grant our first wish. We have to keep in mind that we may have to turn

down a wish that is out of the country, and that it is the child's wish to be granted not the families.

I look to open in 12 months this gives me time to creat a plan, get the voluteers, supporters,. The

biggest problem I can see I will be facing is budgeting each wish, do we put a price on each wish or do

we look for the donors as the wishes come in and how do we pick which child receives his/her wish

first and do we put it in a category by the sickest illness? Do we turn anyone child away? These

questions are very important to know. I belive that any child with a life threatening illness will have the

opportunity to be cranted a wish to make their dreams come true.All the wishes depend on the

donations coming in. I have to first find corporations that can do a monthly donation , go to the

communities for help with funraiser. Social media is a good way to get the word out their.

Our mission will be to play a role in helping strengthen and empower children fighting life

threatening illnesses. Our vision is to be able to grant a wish to every eligible child. The wishes are

more than a fun thing, they impact everyone involved, the wish kid, volunteers, donors , sponsors,

medical professionals and the community involved in the wish. The impact varies. For the wish kid it

gives them the courage to continue with their treatments. Gives the parents hope and the strength to

move forward and the volunteers and donors, sponsors and the medical professionals involed gives them hope. Our goals are to get as much sponsors and donors to help make the wishes of each child

come true. I feel that there is no losers in The dream Come True program everyone involved gets

something positive out of the experience of a wish.

As stated in the beginning this program is going to be runned by donations only, what we bring in I

what we will us for the wishes and the necessities we need to pay for. I would like our budget to start at

$100,00 before we can start granting wishes. We would need to hire a team of employees who will be

on a payroll and volunteers to help with the supplies and the making of the wishes come true. We will

apply for grants to help us get started depending on how much we get for the grants will determine

when we can start granting wishes. All the staff and volunteers will have to be trained and go through

classes for first aid, CPR, which will be a requirement in order to help with the wishes. All the funds

coming in by donors, funraisers, grants and corporations will be put in an account till we are ready to g

grant our first wish. All the money used to make a wish will be followed by a receipt for each item we

need to purchased. We are also counting on donors donating the frequent flyer miles to help with

wishes that need air fare. Along with the wishes being granted to the child the organization will also

need to plan on paying for parents and a medical associate to accomply the group on the wish.

The hiring of the employees will be a process that will take some time. We want our employees

the ones who will be close working with the children to have experience with children of all ages and

difficulties we want them to be compassiate and love children. The other employees as we call the

office employees which will be hired by having a degree and experience in the field they apply for.

This is for the social workers, accountants, office managers, travel team, mail team, secertaries and

funraising team. These will be the employees who will be on a payroll.

Be on time for work

Dress code: dress slacks and dress shirts, skirts, dresses, suit and tie. No jean or t-shirts. No shirts with

writing on them, dress shoes no tennis shoes or open toe sanadles, flip flops or heavy boots.

All tatoos must be covered

30 min lunch clock in nd out

2X 15 min breaks if working 8hrs or more

Hair neatly done no funky colors or styles

No face piercing.

Remember to always clock in and out or you will not be paid for your time.
