For high productivity we were recommended for officer of the month, high producers were allowed to go to specialized training of their choice, and the supervisor allowed officers to work out their differences among themselves.

Q4. Based on the manager identified in Question 3, in what ways did that person exhibit or fail to exhibit each of the components of leader–member exchange (LMX)? Did you have a high or low LMX with that manager? Explain. If you have not done so, it will be helpful to complete the instrument in Table 11.1.
The supervisor I referred to in Question 3 show LMX. The supervisor shows strong emotional commitment, high contribution to work activities and high loyalties to the agency. He has been employed with the agency for 7 years. Subordinates respect this supervisor because of his values and fairness.
The supervisor I was worked for had high LMX. He was constantly showing his dedication to the agency. He never called in sick, always arrived promptly and followed all rules and regulations of the agency. The supervisor was the most knowledgeable person within the department and was always willing to train or help any individual who wanted it. The supervisor exhibited the desired behavior of an officer in the department.
