...AED 201 Managing a Daily Teaching Schedule Below are three tips that I have found that will help me keep my schedule the same and help manage my time within my classroom. 1. Create a consistent classroom routine/schedule that students may grow accustomed to. 2. Use small blocks of time wisely to make sure you can get all productivity done and also lighten the work load that one has for after school hours. 3. Assign manageable classroom task to students, teaching assistance, and or student teachers. As a potential educator these tips will really impact how my schedule will be in a positive manor. To me there never seems to be a lot or enough time in a school day to cover everything that a teacher wishes they could. Unexpected things happen all the time in school that can interrupt what was being taught and how much time should have been given to be taught. This is why it is very important that teachers have excellent time managing skills. With such skills teachers many provide the most productive and stress free environment that can for their students. Having a well-organized classroom and a consistent daily schedule will help limit unproductive time that should be spent searching materials. In my opinion an organized classroom is honestly a happy classroom. Delegating classroom tasks to students and teaching assistance will help reduce stress but also can help free up small blocks of time that teachers can squeeze in prepping, grading papers, and taking notes...

...Managing a Daily Teaching Schedule After searching the web for tips to assist with time management, I came to realize the most common stress a teacher carries is dealing with several papers whether they are test, forms, assignments, or anything else a teacher needs in the class. TIP # 1: Use colored folders to file papers: Select different colors for each subject or for each Period of the day. I feel like that is an important tip because if I am going to have the same color for each class, I could place a paper in the wrong subject and spend hours trying to find that paper. I might even have to do it over because I no longer have it to make copies. This can cause a lot of unnecessary stress and take up valuable time. TIP # 2: Designate one day for every month to organize (for example, the third Tuesday of the month) as “filing day”. Use it to file all the papers that have accumulated on your desk during the month. This tip can be a life saver at some point because day after day builds up more papers on my desk and in the file cabinet that I do not need. Furthermore, I can lose track of assignments and possibly lose an important paper for a student. Organizing can help me keep track of my daily papers and stay ahead of the game. TIP # 3: Make a list of all the things that you need to get done in a given time period (day, week, month, etc.) Realistically approximate the amount of time each task will take to complete.. Prioritize the tasks in order of importance...

...Business Portfolio Jose Ortiz BUS/211 07/21/14 Dr. Michael Charter Business Portfolio When embarking upon any new business venture, there are many things to think about in its inception. In order to be successful, one must take the time to create a business plan that will incorporate all the aspects that a business requires. When building and maintaining a business, preparation is paramount to its success. To ensure that the business is well-established for success, certain factors must be considered. In building the business organization for the Ortiz Daycare, several things were considered in the planning stages, starting with organization of the details in setting up the facility to meet state standards. A budget for operational costs was set up to help control start-up costs of the business. The company vision was then established as a foundation for what it would take for the organization to succeed. With any new business venture there are legal and ethical issues to be considered. In order to help avoid the pitfalls that sometimes come with a new business, an employee handbook outlining the procedures and policies of the business will be created. This would help in making sure that the organization would not fall into any unethical or illegal practices. Maintaining the employee handbook, and updating it as needed, would allow for ongoing adherence to the procedures and policies. This will allow the business to create a professional culture where everyone is...

...Managing Time as an Adult Learner Many adults feel like they already have a full plate; that is to say they have as many (or more) commitments competing for their time, as they have time available. Based on a U.S military study, taking the average requirement of three college classes a semester, the adult learner can expect to add approximately eighteen hours a week of educational related activities onto their plate (Dyer, 2014). A report, issued by the National Clearinghouse Research Center in October of 2014, indicates that only one-in-three adults, returning to school, end up graduating (New, 2014). With the odds so heavily stacked against them, how can the adult learner balance work, home and school to fit in the time necessary to get a college degree? For an adult, with adult responsibilities, to be a successful student requires: undaunted commitment, discipline in focus, sacrificing of the extraneous, and the ability to effectively manage time. Much research and countless studies have been done attempting to determine the key contributing factors for success of adult learners (Tyler-Smith, 2006). The results of the studies are not only significant for the adult student, but also for the universities they are attending. The information obtained is used by Universities to modify their learning environments in an effort to promote an increase in student success rates. Statistically high adult attrition rates have a negative impact on a university’s educational planning...

...Personal Goals Houa Chang HCS/301 June 17, 2013 Dale Mueller Goals, as we define them, are to have a set outcome. We invent them out of fantasy of how we want our lives to be, we cannot predict our future, so setting goals helps guide us. When we set goals it does not end when we achieve that goal. We accomplish the goal, we immediately look to the next goal, therefore I have set out my professional short and long -term goals. Some of them include professional, personal, and when I plan on completing these goals. I have also taken into consideration barriers that I may come across throughout my journey. Personal Goals Setting goals helps us to determine where we vision ourselves in the future. It encourages us to strive for better opportunities that allow for individual growth. My idea of nursing is to be a patient advocate and use effective communication. Ethnicity, religion, and an individual’s background plays an important role but that is why nursing is so diverse and special. It allows each of us to set out short and long- term goals to improve ourselves. As stated by Cynthia O’Neal, (November 2004). Journal of Nursing Education, 43 (11), 524. “In today’s health care environment, baccalaureate nurses must be prepared to use essential leadership skills to manage and coordinate teams of care.” Professional Short -Term Goal My personal short-term goal is to obtain a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing. I want to...

...Reaction Paper about Stress and Stress Management Stress is an unpleasant state of emotional and physiological arousal that people experience in situations that they perceive as dangerous or threatening to their well-being. The word stress means different things to different people. Some people define stress as events or situations that cause them to feel tension, pressure, or negative emotions such as anxiety and anger. Others view stress as the response to these situations. This response includes physiological changes-such as increased heart rate and muscle tension-as well as emotional and behavioral changes. However, most psychologists regard stress as a process involving a person's interpretation and response to a threatening event. Stress is a common experience. We may feel stress when we are very busy, have important deadlines to meet, or have too little time to finish all of our tasks. Often people experience stress because of problems at work or in social relationships, such as a poor evaluation by a supervisor or an argument with a friend. Some people may be particularly vulnerable to stress in situations involving the threat of failure or personal humiliation. Others have extreme fears of objects or things associated with physical threats-such as snakes, illness, storms, or flying in an airplane-and become stressed when they encounter or think about these perceived threats. Major life events, such as the death of a loved one, can cause severe stress. Stress can...
