Challenges Life presents challenges that require either creating a way to change the circumstances that present themselves or adapting to those circumstances. In the process of changing and adapting, I learned that I can use the strengths, skills, and creative thought processes I’ve developed and to apply these skills to other areas in my life. Direction I have moved towards different careers based upon my natural talents and inclinations, but found that they left me unsatisfied. Mission To Mars Research Paper

...“Mars is there, waiting to be reached.” This quote, said by Buzz Aldrin, shows that he is all for the mission to Mars, however it is dangerous to all mankind. I believe a trip to Mars is physically dangerous and societally terrifying, therefore the manned mission to Mars is bad idea. Unmistakably, the idea of sending people to Mars is physically dangerous for them. First, the mission would take a turn for the worst when it comes to keeping the astronauts alive. For example, the temperature is too cold to sustain human life on Mars, being nearly -61 degrees Fahrenheit. Since it is so cold and our bodies have not adapted to the Mars environment, it would be very difficult to survive. Second, being away from Earth’s gravity would physically hurt the astronaut. For instance, your bones and muscles get weaker and your body produces less blood. Since we are not made to be in zero gravity for...

...fatal without the right training to do so. The main character in the movie Interstellar is cooper, and even though he accepts the mission to go outside of our solar system to explore another sustainable planet he states, “We used to look up in the sky and wonder about our place in the stars. Now we just look down and wonder what’s wrong with our place in the dirt.” He knows leaving his family behind to go up in space is not a good idea and rejects the mission initially. Yet he is tricked into the mission by Doctor Brandt who persistently insisted that Cooper is the only man with the right training that is able to lead the mission. Along with that point, Doctor Brandt knows about the fast-forwarding time in the places that he tells Cooper he needs to visit. He also tells Cooper about the twelve people already sent up to do a similar mission, and explains that they are all okay. That was also another lie as Doctor Brandt is deceiving the whole movie. Brandt states that if Cooper does not go on the mission he is essentially single handily killing mankind, and says his children will be saved when he gets back. Cooper believes Brandt and accepts the mission. The time is one hour on a certain planet is seven years on earth. There is not a chance that they would be able to collect enough data and bring it back in time for Cooper’s children to be saved. Theology of Missions

...Theology of Missions Paper GLST 500: Liberty University Spring 2016 Introduction Theology of missions is one of the most significant and enduring aspects of the Christian faith. The theology of missions is about witnessing and bringing the word of Christ to others and is a foundational aspect of individual religious works as well as the works of fellowships, worshippers, and the whole of Christianity. "Mission [is] 'looking beyond', being involved in God's worldwide adventure with people from many culture" [1]. As exciting as the ideal sounds the importance of mission is foundational in a changing context of faith, as more and more people step away from traditional religious worship and multiculturalism and ecumenical ideals stress transition in the faith [2]. Thus, through this paper, I will discuss the relevance of missions within the Old Testament and the New Testament, how the nature of God relates to missions, some key themes of the theology of missions and how mission theology relates to missionary, church leaders and lay people not in fulltime ministry. Old Testament and New Testament “The mission of God lies behind the whole of the Old Testament as well as the New Testament and the particular task which we call missions today” [3]. In the Old Testament, God is a sending or missionary God. In Mark 16:15-16 (NIV), God said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved…”. Just as Saul did, in 1 Samuel...

Creating a Social Program

...Description of organization Jewel’s Rescue mission is a Non-profit, Non-denominational Christian organization meeting the needs of less fortunate in the county of Merced through emergency short and long-term rehabilitation services. The program will also serve as a rescue mission for some displaced pets. Jewel’s Rescue Mission was established because of the love and compassion of one woman. As long as I can remember, Jeweline (Jewel) P. Mays opened her home and heart to people and pets of all lifestyles. Her love for Christ kept her humble and prosperous. She rarely missed a day of cooking a hearty meal. Every meal cooked was large enough to feed a small army. There was seldom a day that a stranger was not at our table. Jewel would always save the scraps for animals. All who knew her knew Jewel throughout the community as,”Mom”. In 2006, Jewel was diagnosed with a rare illness. Physicians informed us the illness would end her life within three years. That news never discouraged her, and her faith in God never waivered. Although her wind capacity was getting shorter as they day went on, she continued going to church until she was no longer able to endure the air outdoors. With all of this going on her life, she kept feeding the hungry and helping those who needed help mentally, spiritually, sometimes physically and financially for the better part of those three years. Towards the end of her life, she was still concerned about a few she had not been able to help in the past...

Business Plan

...importance of a strategic plan for the success of the defined business. The defined business, in the instance for Life Time Fitness, the importance of a strategic plan is undisputable. In Crafting & Executing Strategy: The Quest for Competitive Advantage: Concepts and Cases Arthur A. Thompson, Jr., A.J. Strickland III, and John E. Gamble (2009) state that “a company’s strategy is management’s action plan for running the business and conducting operations” (Thomson, 2009). Additionally to further clarify that a company’s strategy is all about how management intends to grow the business, how it will build a loyal custom and competitive competitors, how each functional piece of the business will be operated, and how performance will be boosted. Any organization without these defined factors will not succeed because all aspects of the business would be out of sync and could potentially take actions that would be counterintuitive to the success of the company as a whole. Mission Statement

...Mission Statement Making a life choice at a later age, such as changing to a new career field, can be wrought with anguish and confusion as well as excitement and anticipation. Knowing that this decision may change the routine, future, and even financial status of the individual and family members, either temporarily or for a lifetime can be daunting. Once that decision is made, and by putting into perspective the reason for selecting the career choice with the use of a mission statement, one can put the ideas in an order that can be understood and provide a direction for that goal. The purpose of a mission statement is to provide one with a purpose, by declaring desired values, in order to meet a need (Radtke, 1998). Addressing these areas not only addresses the purpose, but also can provide inspiration, commitment, innovation and courage to the author (Radtke, 1998). Following is the author’s mission statement and the explanation of that statement. Mission Statement will show dedication to the continual growth in new knowledge and adapting of acquired knowledge as it relates to the healthcare industry and information technology.
