...Business Research Methods Project On Conjoint Analysis Identifying Key Product Attributes & Product Designing of Mobile Phones Abstract This paper intends to explore consumer preferences for Mobile phones attributes, to determine the optimal combination for consumers, and to provide manufacturers a reference for their marketing strategies. In this study, consumers were divided into several demographics (age, gender, occupation) and individual preferences for various mobile phone attributes were compared. Consumers showed significant demographical difference in their preferences over the combination of mobile phones attributes. The various combination of mobile phone attributes were grouped together. Subjects were asked to rank the 22 product profiles (Pair1 to Pair22) from the most to the least preferred. The variables Pref1 through Pref7 contain the IDs of the associated product profiles, that is, the card IDs. Subject 1, for example, liked pair13 most of all, so PREF1 has the value 13. Analysis of the data is a task that requires the use of command syntax—specifically, the CONJOINT command. The necessary command syntax has been provided in the file conjoint.sps. Literature Review N. Soutar et al. (2008), the study aims to examine its relevance in exploring the trade-offs followers make about leaders. The aim was to have an integrated understanding of leadership. The leaders were assessed on the eight leader attributes obtained from three focus groups...

If you are thinking about buying a car, your choices can be overwhelming: Should you buy or lease? New car or used? A sport utility vehicle, a sedan, a sports car, or a minivan? Should you get a sunroof or four-wheel drive? How much extra would you pay for a vehicle that will have a high resale value in the future? What are the expected operating expenses for each model—insurance, repairs, gasoline, and so on? Finally, what opportunities will you forgo if you buy a car? How else could you spend your money, either today or in the future? Making decisions about a product with many options is not easy. Before buying a car, for example, you might draw on the experiences of friends and family, read advertisements, visit dealers, and test-drive vehicles. You might also research different models and financing options on the Web, read Consumer Reports, price insurance rates for favorite models, or even visit chat rooms frequented by car buffs. ...The Demand: Consumer Preferences I observed people changing their cloths as long as the weather or season changes. However, why couldn’t they wear warm cloths such as winter jacket, gloves, snow boots, etc. all year long? Otherwise, why would people look at me as if I were nuts or sick when I wore a very warm jacket and snowshoes in hot summer days? Therefore, weather or season changing has a great influence on consumer’s preferences on a particular good. In addition, it can relate to one of the determinants of demand that cause a shift in the demand curve. For example, in winter, people are highly interested to wear or buy very warm clothes than in summer. Therefore, when people feel cold, the demand for warm cloths is increasing, which mean that the demand curve is going to shift out. However, in Summer, people feel hot so their interests in warm cloths is going to decrease , which leads to a shift in of the demand curve. Another example of the impact of weather changing on consumer preferences is the use of means of transportation. In very snowy days, people are demanding more to ride a bus or a car than to walk, but in nice weather such as in late spring, people are less interested in using means of transportation.so the demand for the use of means of transportation increases in snowy days that make the demand curve to shift out. While in very nice weather, people take advantage of the weather so they prefer to walk. With that, the demand for using means of transportation...

...Week 4 Career Plan: Culture Preferences After completing the “Work Culture” preferences, I was not surprised by the results. It stated that I like working with a team of close knit people who are independent and supportive, having great ideas and being the “go to person” is my strong point because I enjoy being in control of my schedule and assignments. It also stated that I need a comfortable place to work that is safe and has all of the necessary resources to do my job. In general this description fits who I think I am as an employee as well as a leader. Completion of the Career Interest Profiler and the Competencies exercise was helpful in my search to determine what I needed to work on. Career interest profiler simplifies what career would be best suited for you by how you answer the questions asked. Within the competencies, I found that I have a lot of strength in team building. After completing both of those I found it easier to make a decision to stay with my original career path in entrepreneurship. I will focus on the business administration aspect, later venturing into human resource management. This will allow me opportunity to do all that my work culture results outlined. The work culture preferences were very similar to my personal competency results from week two of the course. In week two, after finishing the personal competency exercise, I learned that I am on the right path. The competency test stated that I was well organized, enjoyed being...

...apply standard consumer theory to the housing market and clarify the differences of the decision-making process in purchasing a residential dwelling between standard consumer choice theory and behavioral economics. Moreover, the specific characteristics of speculative bubbles in the real estate market in Spain before and during 2008-2012 will be examined. Part 1: Applications of Traditional vs. Behavioral Economics Explanations Consumer choice is about maximizing their satisfaction by using the limited incomes to fulfill their preference (Silberberg and Suen 2001, 252). There are few general assumptions about consumer’s preferences. Firstly, consumer can rank and compare their choices according to their preference. For example, they can decide to prefer residential dwelling to holiday activity, holiday activity to residential dwelling or indifferent between both choices. This is the assumption called completeness (Isaac 1998, 9). Secondly, preferences are transitive. It means that if a consumer prefers residential dwelling to holiday activity and holiday activity to car, then the consumer also prefers residential dwelling to car. Therefore, consumer consistency is necessary for transitivity. Thirdly, consumers usually prefer more goods to less because they are never satisfied and think that more is always better (Pindyck and Rubinfeld 2009, 70). Utility shows the satisfaction of consumer, and it is represented by indifference curves (Silberberg and Suen 2001, 255). In addition...

...PepsiCo Problem PepsiCo’s business strategies were working out very well for them except for in their international operations. The international segment had relatively low profit margins which meant that PepsiCo needed to implement a new organizational structure that would better utilize strategic fits between the company’s international operations. Also, the operating margins and profitability across the different geographic areas and product lines varied a lot for PepsiCo. Gaining some more stability throughout each area and product line would increase the company’s growth and strength within their targeted markets. Situation Analysis In 1997 PepsiCo set out to accomplish a major portfolio restructuring through acquisitions, product innovation, international expansion, and close relationships with distribution allies. All of this restructuring proved positive for the company and they saw success in many areas. They saw their international snack volume grow by 9 percent and the international beverage volume increased by 8 percent in 2007. However, PepsiCo’s international operations were much less profitable than its businesses operating in North America. The company did notice opportunities for growth in these international markets, though. PepsiCo executives expected that, by 2010, China and Brazil would be the two largest international markets for snacks. They also found that it could grow international sales through its Power of One Strategy. Through research PepsiCo...
