My Schedule Research Paper

My schedule is a unique balance of trying to get everything done while being social and productive without stressing myself out. Because of this, my schedule changes often based on my mood, if I’m feeling sick or stressed, I won’t go to a club that night. Or if I’m feeling bright-eyed and focused, that’s the best time for me to do homework. However the things that will always remain the same week by week are my classes and to a point my sleep schedule. While I’m not great at keeping a consistent sleep schedule, I try to go to bed at decent times so I get at least 8 hours of sleep. My classes are the one thing I don’t like to mess around with, however, and during the week, I base my schedule around them. For example, if my friends want to go to the mall, but I have class at that time, I’ll be in my class. Learning is the reason I’m in college to begin with, and while there’s a whole lot more to learning than just being in class, it’s what I’m paying for as well as the most important aspect. …show more content…
For instance, while I usually have dinner with my friends at 5:00 pm, my Wednesday classes last until 6:00 pm, meaning I have to either go to the cafeteria by myself or eat dinner in my room. Out of all my activities, however, its stagecraft that fluctuates the most throughout the week. Stagecraft, or stage crew, takes a lot of energy and focus because of the heavy and possibly dangerous machinery and the specific instructions. It also takes up a large amount of my time since I’m required to spend 80 hours working there outside of class. I can choose my hours, thankfully, but I need to be prepared mentally and physically for it, so it often changes not just day by day, but week by week as well. In addition, stagecraft is only open on certain weekends throughout the semester, leaving my weekend primarily

This problem seems to affect almost everyone because there seems to be so much stuff to do and not enough time to do it. I will try to develop a strategy to overcome the issue and resolve the problem in regards to time management. Time management affects many individuals in today’s society. According to Wild and Neville 2008, time management means investing time to make time, so we can get more done and have the freedom to do more of the things we enjoy doing. In conducting my research, I chose to use the University of Phoenix online library to obtain articles that would provide reliable solutions to help maintain effective time management skills. While using the online library for my research I would obtain information that is reliable and accurate. These articles I will be reviewing will help me learn how to managing time more effectively. After collecting my articles, I will evaluate the information researched and obtained to help assist in developing time management skills. Time Management involves analyzing how your time is spent. “Nurturing Educational Leadership Development for Adolescents”

...do you expect some of the differences will be between your master’s degree program and the doctoral program?               The differences between my master’s degree program and the doctoral program are in the whole of me.  There has been a complete change in my reasons for pursuing another advanced degree:  I now audit and acknowledge my motivational factors and professional values that drive my pursuit for lifelong learning and academic success, and my spiritual wellness is now evident and a reliable resource for good health.                When I reflect on and realty-check my master’s degree journey, my motivations were about becoming gainfully employed and achieving a new credential.  My values were about establishing my career and acquiring the benefits thereof.  I was young, ambitious, and ready to change the world.  Then, life happened.  Life’s experience unlocked the door and invited me to be open to all possibilities; to take complete ownership of my journey; to cultivate a spiritual relationship with a higher order; and to know that divine intervention exceeds intelligence and is simply necessary.               The key difference is the seasoning of my life.  The seasoning that hones you and places you at a new crossroad to reach higher, to dig deeper, and to know that your contribution to intellectual discourse, to research, and to best practice is about being open to criticism, sharing yourself with the world, and adding to the richness thereof. War in Syria

...For this assignment, you will choose a topic, narrow it, research different points of view about it, and identify your audience in order to develop your angle on the topic. After looking at the list of topics below, which was shared in Week 1’s lecture, choose a topic in which you have more than just a passing interest. The best topic to choose is one which impacts you in some way. Having personal experience with the topic will probably lend some perspective on it and may get you closer to an angle on it. Also, sometimes research can be daunting, but if you have personal experience with the topic, or are even passionate about it, you will probably be more motivated to keep working when the “going gets tough.” Thus, while “interest” in a topic is important, mere interest will probably not sustain you through this project. You might ask yourself, “What is it about this topic that sparks my interest enough to write a ten page paper about it?” Once you choose the topic, please respond to the five questions below. Each of your responses should be approximately two paragraphs in length. This assignment will be graded using the Week 1 Assignment Rubric available in Doc Sharing. Education | Technology | Family | Health and Wellness | School Bullies | Multitasking and Technology | Sexualization of Girls | College Students and Weight Issues | No Child Left Behind Act/Race to the Top | Technology and Social Isolation | Gender Discrimination | Childhood Obesity...

Personal Goals

...achieve are, first is to complete my bachelor of science in business management in 2 years. Next is to become a better writer. Throughout junior college, writing has always been my weakest point and with the amount of writing assignments required at University of Phoenix this needs to be one of my top goals. Finally is to complete every course with no less than a B letter grade. With making the decision to return to school and taking on the considerable financial burden, receiving an average grade would be unacceptable to my standards.      While being employed full-time, The University of Phoenix has the rare opportunity for working professionals to finish courses in just 5 weeks. Having such a compressed time schedule for completing degrees will make it possible to complete my bachelor of science in business management in 2 years as long as I do not deviate from the program. I have decided that my number one priority in life is to complete my degree. I do not have other major commitments outside of work that will distract me from my assignments so staying focused on school will be realistic. Though I cannot predict the future, I do not plan on taking any time off during the two years that would result in interrupting my class schedule. With the option of taking CLEP test this will allow me to “test out” of some of the lower-division courses such as communication arts and humanities. Although this will require additional studying outside of my upper-division courses the CLEP test...

I need to find a way to get everything accomplished without feeling overwhelmed all of the time. Academic Success

...ourselves to all of the services the university has to offer we may not be as successful as we can be. Beginning my educational journey at the University of Phoenix and taking GEN200 has helped me refresh my learning abilities, learn some new critical thinking skills and has helped me in taking the beginning steps to achieve success in my education and eventually in my career. Setting long and short term goals is the key to academic success. Creating realistic long term goals such as graduating college gives us something to work towards and creates the ultimate goal. Setting short term goals such as finishing a paper early, getting all of the reading for a class done or getting an A in a class brings us one step closer to achieving the ultimate goal. Short term goals will always help bring us to our long term goal without it becoming overwhelming and working toward that goal one step at a time. One way to help achieve a short term goal of succeeding academically is the writing process. Getting your thoughts on paper, completing research, working on a thesis and outline is a great way to get organized and have a solid foundation for an assignment. Working on some free writing and creating a solid introduction and conclusion will help the rest all fall into place. Eventually this will also apply in your career. Being able to express your ideas and being able to research a topic or idea you need supporting information...

...Writing academic papers or just your normal day to day school work can be very intimidating at times. As long as I have the determination and the drive to succeed, conquering these obstacles will be a relatively easy task. It requires that you have the motivation to complete your work on time and learn the material that is presented in front of you. A lot of knowledge can be carried on from one’s high school experience but like many people, polishing up those skills you learned years back is much needed. What I hope to accomplish with my survival guide is to develop much needed strategies that will help me in my studies in college. This is a very valuable tool because there is a wealth of information available. Be warned because not all the information on the internet is creditable.
