Request for Proposal

The first change I would make would be to delete the router going from the firewall to the phone network. I then would separate the phones from the computers. I would put all of the phones and the phone network on VLAN 10. I moved all of the computers that were originally on VLAN 1 & 10 with the phones to VLAN 8. I would then delete the switch linking all of the servers. After that, I want to create a protected network for the application server and the accounting server from the firewall. I then would move the protected network servers to VLAN 4. I would then create another link from the firewall to go to a DMZ containing the Email Server and the Web Server. The DMZ would be moved from VLAN 1 to VLAN 6. The last thing I would do would be to move the wireless access point from VLAN 1 to VLAN 2.

By separating everything on the network into different VLANs, I feel it will increase security as well as decrease congestion through the VLANs. Since the VLAN separates portions of the network into mini networks, if an attacker was able to get access to the system, they would only be able to see a small portion of the network instead of everything that is on it. By placing the servers with the most important data (the database and accounting servers) in a protected network, it creates an extra level of security.

The last major vulnerability that I discovered is that all of the data is in one place, in the server room. If there were a fire, even though it is on different devices, all of the data would all be destroyed. By taking multiple copies of the backups to different offsite locations, my risk of fire is diminished. By installing antivirus software onto my computer, my risk of getting a virus is diminished.

This is an audit of an existing exterior system. I conducted a vulnerability study and document all areas of concern. I also wrote a Request for Proposal (RFP) that addresses each of these specific areas identified as concerns.

Approach the project as if you were recommending technology implementation initiatives to your corporation's technology planning committee. The analysis will have two sections. First, examine the view that suggests that the technology you choose is a good emerging technology. Then, discuss the implications for stakeholders (implications for the corporation, such as cost/benefit analysis); integration considerations; the impact on the company's employees; and operational concerns (i.e., increased productivity/efficiency, short-term challenges versus long-term benefits) for management, technical staff, nontechnical staff, the company's customers and clients, and other business partners of your selected corporation. Second, contrast and compare the benefits of the emerging technology you chose with past successful or unsuccessful telecommunications technologies you have in place. To what extent should the corporation change its technology foundation? Include current information on how the technology works. If you believe this is the best choice for the corporation, provide your rationale. Please examine and discuss each element of this objective. Activity on Arrow Diagram Exercise

...CPA Australia 26/04/12 6:14 PM CPA 104 Activity on Arrow diagram exercise You are working for a manufacturing company and your task is to create a network diagram for a project that the company has commenced involving the acquisition of an industrial furnace. A furnace may be over 100 metres long and have more than 40,000 components, so effective project management of the contract is essential. One use for furnaces is to turn clay into ceramics for things like tableware and sanitary-ware. A furnace may cost up to several million dollars depending on its size and capabilities. A manufacturing company that is looking to buy a furnace will often solicit several quotes or tenders. If a customised design is required, this necessitates considerable preparation and effort. Once a tender is awarded, the key phases to be completed are design, purchasing, shipping, installation and commission. There are two common formats used to prepare network diagrams. The activity-onarrow (AOA) network method displays activities as arrows and events as nodes. The other format is the activity-on-node (AON) network method, where nodes and arrows represent activities and events are not illustrated. The choice of AOA or AON representation is a matter of personal preference. For this exercise we will use the AOA format. Project information Detailed below is a project activity list for the project to install a furnace. The main activities 'a – h' are listed, along with their preceding activity...

System Fail

...important to a customer and designer of said system. Failures in a system can create catastrophic events that are costly in both monetary and emotional aspects. Faults within a system can be different in nature and can continue to wreak havoc on the system or to do nothing in some cases. Failures in distributed and centralized system can be specific in nature; however a generalized topic can describe the majority of these failures across the system. There are four types of failures in distributed systems that can affect functionality; but two of these four specific failures that can affect centralized systems as well. The general failures include: halting type failures, byzantine style failures, omission failures, and failures related to network issues. While all of these are important some of them affect a system more violently than others. The first types of failures to discuss are halting failures. These types of failures can be frustrating in nature since they affect most of the system and do not allow the operator to really investigate without rebooting the entire system. These failures essentially freeze the system without allowing any action to alleviate the issue. There can be many reasons for a halting failure such as hardware or software malfunctions, memory problems, or even viruses. Many of these problems can be solved by updating your system, acquiring memory that can create room to do some of the system work, or installing antivirus or spyware software that can...

...The best methodologies, in my opinion, for the Project Stock would be Network Flow Diagram and Project Software. Using Network Flow Diagram will help ShoeRUs to visualize and understand how the project will work and proceed. This diagram will also display the link with all the components of the project. (Network Diagram, 2015) One more strength of this methodology is that the format of this diagram will make it easier to determine the flow of the project, where the current project is in its lifecycle and also link of activities taking place during the whole lifecycle. The main aim of this methodology is to enable to create a diagram for the project broken down into smaller tasks which are important for completing the whole project. Another methodology is the Project Software. There are a lot of strengths that comes with this type of methodology. One of its strengths is that it provides the company to evaluate the direction that the project is taking. It also helps the company to revisit every task in the project lifecycle. By doing this, the company will reduce the costs and the time that will take to finalize the project being developed. It also helps the company to build the project as expected. (Miranda Brookins, 2015) For the Project Moving House, I will choose the Budget Methodology and the Schedule Methodology. As a mechanism for allowing a group of individuals to get ideas and issues on the table brainstorming is hard to beat – however all too often such sessions generate large quantities of issues and these can become complex toreview and difficult to interpret – it can also be challenging to highlight particular trends that the gathered issues may portray, finally following thebrainstorming session, themes and thoughts may be forgotten. 3. There are however a variety of methods available to analyze and group the outputs of such team meetings, in order that gathered ideas can be efficiently utilized. Of these methods, Affinity diagrams represents an excellent tool to both group ideas in a logical way and capture themes that have developed during the brainstorming. 4.
