The L’Odissea begins with the protagonist, Odysseus departure from his home Ithaca. In this scene he is bidding his wife Penelope, his father Laertes, and son Telemachus a farewell before he goes to war against Troy. At a shore, Odysseus have his men prepare many ships to aide in the attack in Troy.
The film then changes it focus onto Penelope and the struggles that she is facing while Odysseus is away. Many of Penelope’s suitors believes that Odysseus is dead because he has not return to home in ten years. Because of this, the suitors have taken possession of his house and is using all of the resources within the home. They are also demanding that Penelope choose another husband from one of them.
