Part 1.
Understanding own personality is definitely an important task. It is not easy to do for most people, but at the same time there is almost no chance of succeeding in life, no matter what particularly does a person hold under that, without at least trying to understand oneself. The main tool here is a constant assessment of your personality, its scales and traits, your behavior in different situations and under various circumstances. Analyzing these information and trying to learn from gained experience should produce a better understanding of what a person you are and what things in life are the most preferable for you. Most importantly, such assessment and analysis should point out character’s weaknesses that are supposed to be eliminated or at least fixed in some way. The process of self-improvement, which consists of improving personality’s better sides and fixing any weak traits, will make it sufficiently easier to communicate with other people, either in the work setting or in the personal life.
I think that self-assessment is never perfect, while it’s done by a human being, because person’s feelings and emotions interfere in one way or another. Nevertheless, when a person is deliberately trying to be objective, the assessment might be rather accurate. One of my personality’s strengths is high openness to experience. In my knowledge it was confirmed not only by questionnaires and my own feelings, but by some other people too. I’m definitely not the highest scorer on this scale: there are a lot of things that I feel comparatively conservative about. As an example, I’ve chosen my education/future job field with about two more years to go in high school, and I haven’t significantly changed that decision since.
