Original Creation of the Earth (The Big Bang vs. Six-Day Creation)

INTRODUCTION The Big-Bang Theory, accepted widely by atheists and many scientists, simply says this: between 10 and 20 billion years ago a “bang” or explosion occurred from a single point in nothingness and with the scattering of googles of atoms, the earth came into being. An eruption of sorts occurred, haphazardly distributing the smallest particles of matter that miraculously adjoined themselves to create living, breathing organisms and every other object on the earth. Every word of the Bible is true. Every day, creation scientists are finding more and more evidence to support the six days of creation. There is nothing wrong with science, but in the end it is the fallible word of man.
YOUNG EARTH
At its simplest, evolution is a hypothesis which claims that all life has descended with modification from a primitive single celled organism in the remote past. The development has been one of increasing complexity. Originally, the first cell evolved from a preexisting organic “soup” in a primeval ocean, which in turn developed from chance conglomerations of inorganic chemicals. Ultimately, these chemicals themselves were produced by the “Big Bang” origin of the actual universe. Against overwhelming evidence it is said that the Big Bang happened billions of years ago, and gives argument that the earth and the universe are only 6,000 - 10,000 years old. The Big-Bang Theory was first proposed in 1927 in an attempt to scientifically explain the shifting of distant galaxies away from the earth. It seems that many people were not satisfied to stare at the stars and remain in awe at the miraculous sight that they were perceiving or to try and fathom the incalculable distance between our galaxy and the next, knowing it was unmanageable. Therefore; this interprets all evidence in light of a traditional and literal understanding of Scripture specifically that in the space of 6 literal days, the whole known universe was spoken into existence, the earth was created, and all life forms, including humans, were created on earth within the last 10,000 years.
OLD EARTH
The account of the six days of creation in Genesis tends to be a controversial subject among Christians. There are various theories to reconcile the biblical account of creation with the secular account of creation. Creation is the belief that the account of the origin of the universe and of life given in the Bible in Genesis chapters one and two is literally true and accurate in every way. The theory of evolution as an explanation for origins is rejected as incompatible with both the Bible and the scientific evidence. The Biblical account is assumed in its plain, literal sense,a day is of 24 hours duration. For that reason, all scientific data relating to origins is to be interpreted within this Biblical basis. In order to reconcile these contradictions with secular science, Christians have proposed several theories. One is the gap theory, which claims there are billions of years between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. “In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth” and not before long after that Darwinian evolution takes place. Of course this still requires ignoring the various contradictions with secular science described in the six days of creation. Another is the day-age theory. This is the belief that each of the six days of creation could signify more than an actual day, as we know according to Einstein’s general theory of relativity, time is relative. A day to God could mean a thousand years to us. (2 Peter 3:8) Again, this does nothing to explain the contradictions between God’s Word and the word of secular science.
COMPARE AND CONTRAST
Time is a most difficult issue in the creation/evolution debate. It is also an issue on which not all Bible-believing Christians as well as active creationists agreed. Believe it or not, both evolution and creation are inferences based on circumstantial evidence. In other words, neither is actually a scientific theory. A scientific theory is our effort to observe, comprehend, and explain processes and events that are taking place repetitively in the present within our observation. Such a theory must be testable by repeatable experiments and be proficient of being falsified if false. Neither evolution nor creation satisfies these criteria. Both instead are attempts to clarify the origin of the universe and of life. And, as by definition the origin of these things is non-repeatable and cannot be observed today, both evolution and creation cannot be scientific theories. Nevertheless, both systems do own scientific character, since each attempts to associate and explain scientific data. So evolution and creation are best viewed as explanatory scientific models that are used to correlate and explain data related to origins. Thus, creation is in every sense just as scientific as evolution. Amazingly, evolution is as religious as creation because as a theory of origins it has both an ideological basis and religious implications. Evolution claims that God is not necessary to origins, that the universe effectively made itself. Such a concept constitutes a worldview that denies a Creator, simply because to create such an awesome universe just speaking a word and it is so! Is just simple impossible, as viewed by science.

CONCLUSION
Even though there are differences in opinion between religion and science, and within science, the decision as to which theory is right is down to the personal thoughts, judgments and opinions of an individual. As a matter of faith, we hold the Bible to be God’s unfailing and inerrant Word and therefore all science, when properly understood, will without doubt support it. In practice, we find that scientific data tremendously confirms and upholds the account of origins recorded in the Bible. The Bible includes many references to divine activity in the origins of the world, of living organisms, and of humans. Different points are given emphasis to the different passages, and one must consider all that Scripture has to say on the topic if one wishes to understand what the Bible teaches on the subject. We cannot decide which view is true based on how many people believe this or that, or on who believes it. Each Christian needs to decide what to believe based on the biblical and geological evidence, as guided by the Holy Spirit. And each Christian should be charitable to those who make a different decision.
