INTRODUCTION
Earth is shield by the atmosphere where it is divided into several layer called ozone. Ozone is a molecule of three oxygen atom bound together and it is unstable and highly reactive molecule. Ozone is naturally in stratosphere when highly energetic solar radiation strikes oxygen molecule (O2) and cause the two oxygen atom to split apart in a process called Photolysis. A freed atom collide with another oxygen then it join up forming ozone, O3 .
The formation of ozone is explained with certain mechanism where both ozone molecule,O3 and oxygen molecules, O2 is absorb ultraviolet in difference wavelength, the ozone molecule is absorbs in a region between 240 nm-280 nm . Each cycle take up energy in the form of ultraviolet radiation. Resulting, large reduction of amount of ultraviolet radiation reaching the troposphere. Besides that , higher concentration of ozone gas in lower region of stratosphere from Earth surface.so that, it will produced shield to the earth surface preventing the high ultraviolet light reach the earth surface. If there lower ozone concentration, the less incoming ultraviolet radiation is absorbed, and more it will reached to the troposphere and earth surface. Human and other forms of life are exposed to higher level of ultraviolet which can cause damage to skin cells and sensitive tissue of the eyes than they are capable of repairing.
As we know, ozone is mainly found in two region of earth’s atmosphere. In meanwhile, the formation of nitrogen oxide gasses (NOx) and volatile organic compound (VOC) from the combustion of gasoline and coal is released into the air. In the sunny day, NOx and VOC are likely to combine with oxygen and formed ozone, O3. This level of ozone is high toxic and corrosive to living system. Some negative side effect with people who inhale ozone during highly exposed may result respiratory infection or lung damage.
