PROGRAMA DE HABILIDADES DIRECTIVAS (PHD) DEL GLOBAL MBA
PRACTICA PERSONAL DE APRENDIZAJE Nº1
Parte II: Investigando Paradigmas
Parte III: Autobiografía
Parte IV: Investigando Paradigmas
Parte V: Obscuchando Lecturas
Parte VI: Obscuchando TED

Malcolm X Research Paper

...Malcolm X, born Malcolm Little and also known as el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz was an American Muslim minister and human rights activist. He was born on May 19, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska. His mother, Louise Norton Little, was a homemaker occupied with the family’s eight children. His father, Earl Little, was an outspoken Baptist minister. In 1955, Betty Sanders met Malcolm X after one of his lectures, then again at a dinner party; soon she was regularly attending his lectures. In 1956 she joined the Nation of Islam, changing her name to Betty X. One-on-one dates were contrary to the Nation's teachings, so the couple courted at social events with dozens or hundreds of others, and Malcolm X made a point of inviting her on the frequent group visits he led to New York City's museums...

Malcom X Bio Paper

...Malcolm X Labeled as one of the greatest speakers in African-American history, Malcolm X delivered a powerful speech entitled “Ballot or the Bullet” on April 3, 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio. In the profound speech, Malcolm looks to unite all blacks in America, disregarding their religion, and to promote Black Nationalism. Black Nationalism, through the eyes of Malcolm, mainly causes for blacks to take over the politics in their communities. Along with the political aspects, Black Nationalism requires blacks to stop supporting white businesses and only invest in black-owned businesses and companies. Malcolm’s Black Nationalism has a “self-help” philosophy, in which blacks control the jobs, housing and culture of their communities. In addition to uplifting the black community, Black Nationalism also called to unite blacks from different religions to fight for freedom (according to Malcolm, second-class citizens, which most black were classified as, were 20th Century slaves.) Another one of Malcolm’s viewpoints is on a black revolution in America. He seemed upset that in his speech that blacks in the south were choosing the lax methods of sit-ins as a form of desegregation. Malcolm felt that if blacks were to gain freedom in America, blood must be shed, referring back to the term revolution. In Africa, he mentions, blacks did not gain their independence from European nations peacefully, however, that they had to fight, kill, and be killed to gain liberty. He also mentions how bloody...

Malcolm X Resraech Paper

...African American Philosophy November 14th, 2013 Malcolm X The life of Malcolm X was a very disturbing and interesting one. I say that, because Malcolm X was criminal, minister, a powerful leader, and an icon to his religious followers. Born Malcolm Little, before converting to the Nation of Islam, young Malcolm grew up around a lot of segregation and racism. Growing up in Omaha, Nebraska he had to deal with the KKK (Ku Klux Klan), especially because his father was a preacher, who preached the word of God and rights for African American. After the mysterious death of his father which was heard that the KKK took him and tied him to the train tracks, as a train killed him. Young Malcolm moved to Boston where he became a petty thief and pimp. He eventually went to jail in February 1946 for breaking and entering, and was sentenced to eight years in prison at the Charlestown State Prison. Manning Marable goes into great detail about ups and downs of Malcolm X’s life. He talks about the highs and low, the disappointments and the great success he had. The two chapters in this book that really caught my eye while reading was chapter three and chapter ten. Both chapters have great detail about the individual, and gave you a vivid picture of how Malcolm X really was. Chapter three is all about him becoming the great leader, speaker, hero, father and husband that will all remember him by, thus name of chapter being titled “Becoming X.” This significant chapter goes into detail describing...

Research Paper on Malcolm X & Martin Luther King Jr.

...Great Racial Debate; and Differences of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. for Racial Equality America in the 1960s was marked by an era of unfortunate segregation, violence and unrest towards African Americans in the country. They faced often-brutal violence and a government that had forgotten them in regards to human rights. Blacks needed something to be done about the harm and inequality they were facing at the time. Fortunately, two men in particular rose to the occasion to fight for what they believed in. They focused on achieving the same goal of a better society for Blacks. However, they differed greatly in regards to how they sought to complete this goal. While Malcolm X often viewed the problem as a war and wanted to ensure that his people would have the means and the power to fight back against the harmful Whites. Martin Luther King Jr. believed it would be more beneficial to both parties if the violence ceased to exist. The struggle for racial equality caused Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. to seek separate and contradictory methods of achieving what they felt was right for African Americans. One main difference between Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. was their distinctive childhoods. The two men were raised under dissimilar circumstances and environments. It can be supposed that the way they grew up directly relates to the views they had on the racial problems and the way they dealt with them. Malcolm X (1925 – 1965) had a terrible way of life as a...

Comparative Paper Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X

...Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X – So Similar yet So Different The Civil Rights movement in the United States was a long struggle that sought to win equality for every American under the law. The movement spanned many years of heartache and violence as it exposed the racism and segregation that had taken hold of the nation. It was during this struggle that two great men stepped forward to lead. Although their methods of leadership were different, their goal was the same – equality for all African-American. These two men, two great African-American heroes, were named Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. Martin Luther King Jr., born on January 15, 1929 as Michael King, was a pastor, activist, humanitarian and leader in the Civil Right Movement. He led many protests, namely the Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955 and the 1963 March on Washington, at which he delivered his famous “I have a Dream” speech. The Montgomery Bus Boycott was in direct relation to Rosa Parks’ refusal to give up her seat on a bus. The Boycott was effective as the US District Court ruled to end racial segregation on all Montgomery public buses. Similarly, Malcolm X, born Malcolm Little and later known as El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, was a Muslim minister and human rights activist. He was most recognized for his courageous advocating for the rights of black Americans and his words are believed to have been fodder for the Black Panther Party who sought to fight against police brutality...

Eire Papers

...Eire Papers As part of the bid tabled by Eire Papers, it would purchase outside linerboard from the Southern division as well as for printing to be carried out by the Thompson division with compensations to the 2 divisions being $90 and $30 respectively. As provided in the scenario, Southern division’s sales price comprises a 60% cost component and a 40% contribution margin, this therefore amounts to 40% X $90 = $36 in terms of the contribution to the company. Thompson’s receipts cover its incremental costs of $25 which therefore yields a net result of $30 - $25 =$5 in terms of contributions that would be afforded to Papyrus as a whole. The act of supplying both the linerboard and the printing service therefore allows a profit to be made by Papyrus and therefore reduces the net amount it is essentially paying for the purchase of the boxes from Eire Papers. The bid price should consequently be reduced by the amount of expected profit. The true cost of the Erie Papers bid can therefore be derived to be in the region of $432 - $36 -$5 = $391 per thousand boxes. Thompson The comparable costs relative to Papyrus are calculated for all 3 bids. The 3 values reflect incremental costs to Papyrus, with Thompson having the lowest bid of $288. This method is employed to show the relative incremental costs Papyrus will bare from each bid. (Why are we comparing costs rather than Margins?) Thompson Total Incremental Costs to Papyrus = $120 + $168 = $288 Since 70% of Thompson’s...
