Personal Narrative: How Did My Skin Change

It’s amazing how my skin has changed over the four months. Whilst last year it was difficult for me to imagine a smooth & acne-free skin, this year it only took me a few months to get rid of my skinproblems. It’s not completely smooth or acne-free yet; from time to time my skin still get one or two red spots, but it’s a big improvement compared to previous years.

How did my skin changed and what exactly did I do different this time, are two questions I’ll be answering today.

If you are following my blog for a while, you are most likely familiar with my MK botanical skincare journey. This skincare routine is a very important part as to why my skin has improved so fast. Ever since I started using Mary Kay Botanical …show more content…
By eliminating certain foods, or at least minimize the intake of it, I narrowed down which food I could eat and which not. For instance, I avoided milk and cheese as much as possible for a whole month, then a week ago I started consuming milk and cheese for a few days. As a result I got red spots on my forhead and chin, and after I stopped drinking and eating milk and cheese, it dissapeared. I didn’t test my blood on allergies, but based on my experience, I’d say I’m more prone to acne when I consume milk and cheese.

How did I came up with the idea of eliminating milk and cheese from my diet?
Before I started this ‘diet’, I searched on the internet what (environmental & biological) factors causes acne. One article, and I think it might of been from http://jessevandervelde.com/acne-het-explosieve-gevolg-van-hormonale-disbalans/ (I looked it up a while ago), which is in Dutch, reasoned that acne is an indirect effect of insuline resistence. I’ll try not to discuss a lot in detail, but I’ll explain very shortly why it has an effect on acne.

Insuline resistence can be caused by over- consuming products with a high glycemic index (causes the blood sugar level to raise exposively) or chronic inflammation. As cells become insensitive to insuline, the body develops insuline resistence, and as a result it produces lots of insuline to

Beautiful people came from around the world to glimpse famous people visiting the island, or to get away from the hardship and stress of their everyday lives. As for me, I saw the poverty of Nassau, Bahamas. Desperate people crowded the straw market and stared across the bridge at Atlantis where vacationers slept in Mahogany furnished rooms with luxurious bedding. ...Consequences of Slavery As a freshman in college, having sat through many high school lectures about slavery and the long lasting effects it has left on the United. In, Frederick Douglass’ Slave Narrative, I was able to gain true personal insight from Douglass’ personal experiences and further my understanding of what all went into slavery and how it effected not only African Americans but Whites also. Slavery not only put a mental and physical strain on the oppressor and its oppressor but also the surrounding people who had to deal with it’s reputation and after effects. At the beginning of the Narrative, Douglass talks about his different accounts with his masters and overseers. He states that he had 2 masters and that the first ones name was Captain Anthony. Captain Anthony wasn’t a very rich master and he owned a couple farms with about 30 slaves in total possession. It amazes me how three writers with such unique qualities all seem to stitch together the same ideas about the “American Identity.” Whitman chooses to see sex as an empowerment on our human race. While Edwards argues that God’s love inspires a fruitful outlook on a trivial life, Melville has no spiritual views and instead ignites his own reasoning to form his perceptions. MOLE PRINCETON UNIVERSITY Living it on the skin: Italian states, working illness A B S T R A C T In this article, I examine the codification of an Italian work-related illness caused by mobbing, a type of psychological harassment that emerged at the moment neoliberal policies transformed Italy’s historically protectionist labor market. I trace how the medicalization of mobbing has expanded workers’ access to compensation, resources, and discursive tools for criticizing neoliberal labor conditions, even as it has produced new structures of surveillance. I unravel the neoliberal politics of a state that protects workers’ health yet governs worker–citizens through an apparatus of medical experts. I find that workers’ labor problems are experienced and managed as bodily problems in ways important to remaking Italian citizenship.
