...Personnel in Technology Amy Mullen TEC 401 July 16, 2012 Clyde Roberts Personnel in Technology Technology support teams are on the rise with new and improved technological advances are emerging. Effective technology support teams reflect knowledge, experience, and strong communication skills. Technology plays a major role in organization operations in today’s society compared to decades prior. The key to success in using the many forms of technology available is to train users about the technology and the operation of the devices. In this paper, I discuss the training and implementation programs in using technology, performance support and Help Desk technologies, and the relationships between coworkers as well as between support teams and customers. Training Training is the foundation of organizational success. Organizations and their employees should have knowledge of the technologies used in the workplace and understand the enhancement technological tools bring to the workplace. Unfortunately, end-user information systems (EUIS) training is not a top priority in a time it is necessary with the growing technological advances (Regan & O’Connor). Training, in essence, defined as a learning experience with a beginning and end differs from support as support implies an ongoing learning experience. Specified by Regan and O’Conner (2002), the...

The various innovations and uses to which networks are being put are growing by the day and hence are becoming complex and invariably more difficult to manage by the day. Computers are found in every business such as banking, insurance, hospital, education, manufacturing, etc. The widespread use of these systems implies crime and insecurity on a global scale. Air Force Medical Treatment Facility for Erm

...Part 1 Abstract Physical fitness is a mandatory requirement by all military personnel. This enables the soldiers maneuver through their daily endeavors of protecting a nation. The nature of the job on the contrary places soldiers at the risk of injuries some of which may materialize at the most unwarranted moments. The military therefore require a highly mechanized medical service, one that secures quality (Patrick,1998). Quality in the provision of medical services encompasses a number of factors key among which is accuracy in diagnosis, treatment and drug prescription. Additionally, data in the medical spheres require secure and integral storage. Most of the diagnoses especially those associated with terminal recurrent illnesses depend largely on the patient history. All the patient details therefore require a secure database and an appropriate filing mechanism. Initially, all these activities were performed manually or mechanically with the medical system relying on paper back files and manual diagnoses. These had a number of pitfalls given the dynamic nature of military operations. Soldiers keep moving from place to place depending on the security needs of the country and they will always need to have their medical services with them. Mechanical administration becomes cumbersome in such conditions with portage prove difficult. It also becomes difficult to keep a sequential filing system for references (Marion, Ball & Joan, 2004). Technological developments...

Construction

... Abstract The objective of the study was to map the structure of the construction engineering and management (CEM) discipline and its contents, trace its evolution, and to identify the most prevailing research areas in the discipline. The study entailed a review of the literature in construction engineering and management as well as two of the leading academic journals in the discipline, particularly a bibliometric study of the contents of the ASCE Journal of Management in Engineering (JME), as a case study of the CEM refereed journals. The JME’s contents were investigated from its onset in 1985 until 2002. The results of the analysis show that 70% of the published papers focused on four main subjects: management and organization of the firm, project management, industry structure and environment, and management of personnel. Considerable changes occurred within the subjects with the emergence of new topics and the decline of others over the eighteen years of publication. The study also analyzed the use of keywords, research methods, and identified authors, and the concentration of knowledge. The JME is mainly concerned with the managerial aspects of engineering, while ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management (JCEM) focuses more on construction and technical issues. Additional studies of the JCEM’s contents should be conducted for a complete mapping of the discipline in the USA. ii Acknowledgements “All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the...

...complex to manage servers/disks so there is a high enough probability that acceptable response time can be achieved. Firms therefore may find that the least expensive and/or most organizationally expeditious way to obtain high probability of acceptable transaction processing response time is to implement a data warehousing architecture that uses separate servers/disks for some querying and reporting. To use data models and/or server technologies that speed up querying and reporting and that are not appropriate for transaction processing There are ways of modeling data that usually speed up querying and reporting (e.g., a star schema) and may not be appropriate for transaction processing because the modeling technique will slow down and complicate transaction processing. Also, there are server technologies that that may speed up query and reporting processing but may slow down transaction processing (e.g., bit-mapped indexing) and server technologies that may speed up transaction processing but slow down query and report processing (e.g., technology for...

Human resource management studies have focused primarily at the state and federal levels, with relatively fewer comprehensive views of county governments.
