How was the Earth formed? The Earth was formed in one distinct way. It built up and changed over time to give us the Earth we live on today. Planetary differentiation, layers of the Earth, convection currents and seismic waves make up the Earth we know today. Planetary differentiation helped formed the Earth. Electromagnetic forces brought dust to stick together, as gravity brought the bigger chunks of dust together. This ball of dust eventually became so big that it collided with meteors and comets, giving us our early Earth. Later, molten metals that are less dense rose and hardened, while denser metals sank. This is how the layers of our Earth were formed. The hot molten metals that sank formed the inner and outer core. The molten metals that rose and hardened became the mantle and the crust. The crust is relatively 5 to 100 kilometers deep. The crust is made up of silicon, aluminum, calcium, sodium, and potassium. The two types of crust are the oceanic and the continental crust. The oceanic crust is made up of minerals like basalt. The continental crust is made up of minerals like granite. The mantle is about 2750 to 2900 km deep, and it is made up of iron, magnesium and calcium. The mantle is one of the two layers that have convection currents. The crust and the uppermost mantle make up a layer called the lithosphere. The bottom part of the uppermost mantle makes up a layer called the Asthenosphere. The outer core is made up of an iron-nickel alloy, as the inner core is as well. The outer core ranges from 2200 to 2260 km deep. It is the only liquid layer in the Earth, as well as the other layer that contains convection currents. The inner core is about 1228 to 1250 km deep, ranging up to 13000° F. Many of the imaginative theories for the extinction of the dinosaurs will also be presented. Within the uniformitarian paradigm, the meteorite impact theory, once considered ‘outrageous’, now is the dominant theory. However, the volcanic theory is still believed by a majority of paleontologists. Both theories have their strengths and weaknesses. The unscientific behavior of those involved in the meteorite paradigm change will be briefly explored. Evidence that the dinosaurs died in a cataclysm of global proportions will be presented, such as the huge water-laid dinosaur graveyards found over the earth. Occasional nonspecific bone-beds and the rarity of fossils of very young dinosaurs suggest a catastrophic death and burial. The billions of dinosaur tracks recently discovered provide testimony to unusual, stressful conditions. Nests, eggs, and babies are a challenge to a Flood model, but there are enough unknowns associated with the data that solid conclusions are difficult to draw. In this paper we consider that the growth patterns on fossils could reflect the ancient Earth-Sun relationships. Through mechanical analysis of both the Earth-Sun and Earth-Moon systems, these patterns confirmed an increase in the Earth-Sun distance. With a large number of well-preserved specimens and new technology available, both the modern and ancient leaving rates could be measured with high precision, and it was found that the Earth has been leaving the Sun over the past 0.53 billion years.
