Are you longing to get active and in shape, but are lacking the ambition to do it? Joining a sports team, such as soccer, can help you to do this while also having fun! If you are concerned about a lack of knowledge about the game, then follow these instructions, and you will be on your way to succeeding in the simple, yet complex game of soccer. Soccer dates back as far as a couple centuries B.C. Leather balls were first used and were kicked into nets. Now soccer has many rules and regulations to the game that give it a more competitive spin, while also allowing for fun and physical activity. The object of the game of soccer is to get the ball into the opponent's net. Seems simple, right? By the end of these instructions, you will know what …show more content…
In order to play you should be properly equipped. The first things you must purchase are cleats and shinguards. The cleats have to be specifically designed for soccer. Softball, baseball, or football cleats will not be acceptable; they are illegal to play with. Soccer cleats may not have a spike in the middle front of the cleat, and the spikes must be made out of plastic. Metal spikes are not allowed. Shinguards must fit you properly, or they will be ineffective. To find shinguards that are the correct size, you must determine your height and weight. When purchasing shin guards they will have a chart on the package. It will tell you to get a specific size, depending on your height and weight range. For example, if you are looking at adult sizes, your weight is between 120 and 160 pounds, and your height is between 5’5” and 5’9”, then you should purchase a size small. Along with proper size there is another very important feature your shinguards must have: a small square stamp located on at least one of the shinguards. The stamp must say “MEETS NOCSAE STANDARDS.” This means that the shinguards have met the standards of the National Operation Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment. The other standard items you need are typically supplied by the team. Each team player will need a uniform jersey that is the team color with each team member wearing a different number. Each player will also likely have another uniform …show more content…
The first thing that needs to be done is learning what kind of soccer you are going to play. On offense your coach will tell you what formation he or she wants the players to be aligned in. On defense the coach will tell you if you are playing zone defense or man-to-man defense. Zone is when you have a certain area on the field you cover, and if the ball is in your area you take care of it. Man-to-man is when you have a specific player from the opposing team. Wherever they go, you stick on them trying to get the ball away from them, or trying to intercept a pass going to them. Once you know the way you are going to play the game you must know how the rules apply and how to put it all together. Now that you know the mechanics of soccer, you now need to put them together. It is game day, so the first thing that you need to do is put your gear on. Put on your jersey and shorts. Then your shin guards, followed by your tall socks. Then you need to put both cleats on and lace them. Once you have the proper attire on, you need to stretch so that you do not tear any muscles. Stretch every muscle in your body. Once stretching is done you can do a few warm ups including passing the ball with a partner and doing some shooting. Once this is done then the captains and coaches from both teams must meet with the referee to discuss game expectations and to flip a coin to see who is in what

How To Play Soccer Research Paper

...In many ways, soccer can be seen as a simple sport. One must score by kicking the ball into the net. However, it is the passing part the can be quite challenging. Not passing the ball correctly may lead to inaccuracy, turn over of the ball, or a missed goal scoring opportunity. It may also show a bad example on your part. By effectively teaching these steps, one will learn how to properly pass a ball to improve his or her ability. Prior to striking a ball, one must have the proper positioning. Be sure to stand about three steps away from the ball. If you are a right-footed player, take three steps back with one step to the left. And as a left-footed player, take three steps back with one step to the right. By doing so, it ensures that the player is lined up with where he or she would like to pass the ball....

In this paper we examine the antecedent factors that explain the variations in overall service satisfaction judgements. We draw on service an activities put in place by soccer clubs to illustrate these effects. Based on a literature review, interviews with both soccer fans and an industry expert, we develop a measurement approach for satisfaction which we test subsequently using a large-scale sample among soccer fans. An analysis of the impact-performance implications of antecedent drivers shows that stadium features, team characteristics, and fan-based support for the club and its management are the most important factors that influence overall satisfaction. Notably, there has been intense competition between nations to host World Cup. Many countries have vowed to invest billions of dollars in order to increase their chances of being elected to host such mega event. Why should countries compete to host this event? Written Analysis Final Paper

...Contact Sports Head/Body Injuries Research Paper November 19, 2013 Down, Set, Hut, Hut! The ball snaps, and everyone clashes into each other like warriors in battle. This is what we love about the game of football. While we are enjoying this rugged game, behind the scenes there are players in pain on and off of the field. From them having concussions to broken toes, or in other words from head to toe, every game possibly being there last one depending on the extremity of their next injury they still continue to play and entertain us. In this paper we are going to journey through some of those injuries and issues due to this sport we love and how we could help solve it, and help these athletes we love so much be able to stay in the game of football a little longer. To start off, although we’re just focusing on NFL, I have to let you know it’s not just affecting them, but the little ones we having playing this sport as well. In an article I read entitled, “Hits to the Head Don’t Differ in Age, Research Indicates”, it says that more 25,000 kids ranging from ages 8 to 19 are taken to the emergency room seeking treatment for concussions each year (Belson, 2013). This goes to say that although we enjoy when the adults are doing all this physical contact, but when it’s our own kids do we feel the same way? Well, in this case think of those NFL players as you do your children. What if they could never play again, on or off of the field? In reading another article by Sabrina Rogers...

About Me

...The process piece I chose to revise was my About Me page. Due to the relatively small length of the piece (two paragraphs), especially in comparison to longer papers like the Familiar Genre Analysis (four pages), doing a momentous amount of revisions is unpractical. However, the changes I did make significantly altered the piece. To start off, I made some corrections to various middle and lower order concerns, like grammar (added “am” before “from” in the first sentence) and transitions (first sentence of second paragraph links the two, creating flow that was previously absent). After that, I focused on these, more important higher order concerns: audience, pathos and genre conventions. Previously, the reference to the audience for my blog was vague and practically missing. By adding the fact that “one of the primary uses of this blog is for my English 1020 class at Wayne State University,” I was able to hone in on my prospective audience: my professor and fellow classmates. Next, I added in more details about myself to help the reader feel better connected to me. By stating where I lived through my life and what country I identity myself as being from, as well as one of my biggest goals in life, I am allowing future readers to know me and my writing, not just the latter. Finally, I attempted to improve my use of genre conventions. About Me pages typically include a reason why the writer started a blog, so I included that. Also, I tried to be more interactive with my readers...

Groups N Teams

...Groups are the building blocks of organizations and are designed to integrate job tasks and people effectively (Credo Reference). Teams in an organizational setting can be as simple as two people working together to write a white paper or technical document, or as complex as multiple businesses working together to bid a proposal or build the next generation destroyer for the Navy (Wienclaw, 2010). In general, groups in an organization comprise two or more individuals who are interdependent and who interact over time (Wienclaw, 2010). A group can be defined as a configuration of two or more interdependent individuals who interact over time. Groups work towards a common goal, are accountable to a manger, and may accomplish their goals. Groups also do not have a clear, stable culture, so conflict is frequent (Wienclaw, 2010).       However not every group of people who work together can be considered a team. Teams on the other hand can be viewed as a specific type of group. In a team, there is differentiation of skills where one individual does a specific part of the task, and other individuals do other specific parts also. For example on a soccer team, each of the eleven members that make up the soccer team has different position at which they play. Usually the team will be made up of a goalie, defenders who protect the goalie, midfielders, and the strikers whose job is to score goals. Together the eleven players act as one, and become a team. Another way that teams are...
