...article “Best Practices for Professional Learning Communities,” (2014) the author, Celine Provini, defines a Professional Learning Community as a “whole-staff involvement in a process of reflection upon instructional practices and desired student benchmarks, as well as monitoring of outcomes to ensure success.” These “communities” have been becoming more prevalent as educators continue to focus on student achievement and professional growth. ...Final Plan for Collaboration Cassie Corona Capella University Introduction All schools have a vision or mission statement and this is what they strive to follow as far as what their goal is. My school is no different. To have a vision and action plan of collaboration is important. Having strong community-parent ties can ensure that students are learning and are successful. “When a school begins to function as a professional learning community, teachers become aware of the incongruity between their commitment to ensure learning for all students and their lack of a coordinated strategy to respond when some students do not learn.” (DuFour, 2004) Identifying the Problem Desert View Elementary has a primarily white population of 67%. However, we also have one of the largest Hispanic populations in the district with 29%. Desert View is 56% male and 44% female. About half of the student population comes from low-income families. We serve 53% of the student’s free or reduced meals. There are 14% of students that attend Desert View that are on an IEP and 15% that are ELL. For years now Desert View has been a school within our district that is a choice school. There is a current achievement gap among Desert View and the rest of the school district. The decision of making this school a choice school was made because of the consistently low PAWS test scores. PAWS is our standardized test that students are required to take...

...Instructional Supervision Plan and Matrix Introduction Successful schools are generated by strong plans and visions. Administrators and teachers look at what they have done in the past, seeing what works, and seeing where they need to improve. Lakota Middle School’s School Improvement Plan (SIP) is written in a way that the administration, teachers, and students know what role they play in the success of the school. Having a plan will help the school move in the right direction. When you do not have a plan, you will fail to improve because you lack focus and direction. School Context Lakota Middle School (LMS) is located in the Federal Way Public School district. Federal Way Public Schools (FWPS) is located in the suburban community of Federal Way. I believe the leadership style is effective because the principals mobile cart has created a transparent environment where teachers and scholars can easily interact with the building administrator and the leader is able to accomplish essential tasks while keeping close contact with stakeholders, which contributes to a positive culture. B1. Leadership Practices: My personal leadership style is demonstrated in my actions by my positive, supportive, and empowering attitude towards stakeholders. At the beginning of every faculty meeting I highlight recent successes by sharing or having teachers share affirmative actions. As an instructional leader in the school, I believe my staff needs to know they have my support, which I earn by serving them and looking out for their well-being. For example, I build in time for teachers to plan every quarter, including opportunities to collaborate with others. It’s important to rely on your teachers and their expertise in different areas. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, and an effective leader can bring out the best in stakeholders. This can be accomplished by relying heavily on the School Transformation Team (STT) in a collaborative effort with the administration. Professional development for the STT is a great way to empower...

One of the first steps is the decision to go public. Shareholders, investors and owners of the company must agree to the decision to go public by taking the necessary votes required to do so. This can be done through a shareholders’ meeting where the relevant decisions can be made by the owners of the private stock. The firm also needs to ensure there are no discrepancies on its books and that they are aligned with the accepted principles of accounting. The firm’s lawyers and auditors must ensure that documents are legitimate. By doing so time and money can be saved in the future because corrections and certification would have been completed and documents certified correct. Auditors also analyze the financial records of the firm to determine the assets and liabilities that the firm holds. The firm cannot lock into financial markets on its own because it lacks the expertise required in becoming a public firm. It requires the services of a lead investments banker...
