Once the induction period is over there will be sessions with supervisors and managers to follow up on how the member of staff is progressing, this also will aid in recognising what sort of support or additional training is required for the staff member to reach the approved level of standards. these sessions are called supervisions.
Supervisions will support staff to develop and evaluate performance through a process of inquiry that encourages understanding of their own practice.
Once I am settled in to my role the supervision and appraisal will be organised and implemented to allow management and staff to meet on a regular basis to continually analyse what progress has been made and what future goals need to be set.
Appraisal should identify learning needs and feed into the personal development plan.
The personal development plan is essential to identify learning and qualification needs and track progress, it should be updated at least annually and relate to the person
